Czech School Inspection's reports as a source of information on breaking the legal requirements of safety and welfare of students in schools and educational facilities

The diploma work is focused on the field of security and health protection in the school facilities. It is based on the analysis of the legal regulations and it compares them to the information published in the inspectional, annual and thematic reports of the Czech School Inspection. The research part deals with the analysis of the public and closed documents of the Czech School Inspection. It refers to the most common abuse of the legal rules in the comparison to the facts published in the mentioned reports of the Czech School Inspection. The diploma work contains the total view of the legal regulations targeted on the field of security and health protection and determines the duties which are obligatory for the headmasters. Focused on the documents the work finds out the most frequent mistakes and examples of breaking the rules, it searches for the cause of the cases and sugests the ways how to prevent from the mistakes.
Peer Review of Vocational Education and Training Schools

TITLE: Peer Review of Vocational Education and Training Schools AUTHOR: Stanislav Michek DEPARTMENT: Department of Primary Education, Charles University in Prague SUPERVISOR: prof. ABSTRACT: The subject of the research of the thesis is the issue of external evaluation, particularly technical and vocational schools by partners at the same level (peer review). In the theoretical part is paid attention to concepts associated with the development of the school, the peer review is set in the context of other forms of external evaluation in education in general level and then describes the current state of the external evaluation of schools in the Czech Republic. For the empirical research was designed mixed methods design. When the research was, along with other research methods effected multiple case study - fed 4 specific stories of peer review in the Czech Republic. From the findings have been identified following supportive factors peer review: attitudes toward evaluation, condition, experience with evaluation, competency of the participants, of the interaction rated the school and peers and support peer review. Impact of CSI activities on practice in primary schools in Prague

The Czech School Inspectorate (CSI) is the only institution responsible for external evaluation of educational system in the Czech Republic. Its main purpose is improving the quality of education provided. The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe different CSI's activities and to find out which of them and how influence practice of primary schools in Prague. The results of the analysis of questionnaires, interviews with some headteachers and Deputy Chief School Inspector's comment show that majority of headteacher respondents act upon school inspection report, take inspectors' advice into consideration and follow them. The CSI also influences schools indirectly:  by setting Criteria for Evaluation of Conditions, Course and Outcomes of Education  by stakeholder pressure  by publishing of numerous outputs  by means of InspIS SET system The research shows that most headteacher respondents consider school inspections to be important for them.
