Interactive textbook of descriptive geometry
Krsová, Michaela ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor) ; Zhouf, Jaroslav (referee)
An aim of this diploma thesis is to create interactive descriptive geometry coursebook. As a basis for coursebook creation was used "Present State of Descriptive Geometry Education on High Schools Survey" which was proceeded via questionnaire. Before the creation of coursebook itself were made analyses of accessible textbooks, geometric softwares in use and possible environments for coursebook content presentation. A result is integrated part of subject matter taught on high schools complemented by solved examples and interactive applets created in software GeoGebra. The coursebook content is presented in a form of HTML sites on a public website http://www.sadsam.cz/dg/ and also as an off- line version on DVD disc enclosed.
Descriptive Geometry Teaching in the Czech Lands
Moravcová, Vlasta ; Bečvář, Jindřich (advisor) ; Janyška, Josef (referee) ; Lávička, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis documents the history of descriptive geometry teaching in the Czech lands from its beginnings (i.e. from the 1830s) to the World War II. The center of the work is the description of development of descriptive geo- metry teaching at secondary schools, especially "Realschule, supplemented with an analysis of Czech secondary school textbooks and a brief comparison between the situation in the Czech lands and foreign countries. Attention is also paid to the characterisation of descriptive geometry lectures at Czech and German polytechnics and universities in Prague, Brno and Příbram, inclusive of university textbooks. The work also mentions a brief global de- velopment of projection methods and a contribution of Czech geometers to the development of descriptive geometry. The thesis is supplemented with large factual and pictorial addenda.
Synthetic projective geometry
Zamboj, Michal ; Krump, Lukáš (advisor) ; Janyška, Josef (referee) ; Velichová, Daniela (referee)
A synthetic approach to the construction of projective geometry, its methods and selected results are given in the proposed thesis. The main historical drawbacks of the original proof of Chasles's theorem for non-developable ruled surfaces and von Staudt's formalization of projective geometry are commented. The corre- sponding theoretical background is elaborated on visual demonstrations with the accent to interrelations of classical synthetic, axiomatic and analytic points of view. Synthetic methods of projective geometry and their mixture with analytic methods are described on examples including numerous alternative proofs and generalizations of some theorems. A method of four-dimensional visualization is introduced in details. Elementary constructions of images of points, lines, planes and 3-spaces are followed by models of polychora, their sections and shadows. Chasles's theorem is proven for non-developable ruled quadrics on synthetic vi- sualizations, then generalized and proven within the pure projective framework for algebraic surfaces. The synthetic classification of regular quadrics is derived from descriptive geometry constructions of sections of four-dimensional cones and analytically verified in the projective extension of the real space. An integral part of the thesis is a...

Online collection of exercises in descriptive geometry
RÁLKOVÁ, Lucie
The target of the Bachelor piece of work Online collection of exercises in descriptive geometry was to create an online collection of solved problems in descriptive geometry. Focus task corresponds to an initial course of descriptive geometry in undergraduate mathematics. The collection will be used primarily to support students' homework for this course, but it could also find application in secondary schools in teaching descriptive geometry and stereometry.
Use of 3D CAD system SolidWorks for teaching the foundations of descriptive geometry
HEŘMAN, Michal
The topic of this thesis concerns computer software for 3D modelling SolidWorks and its use for descriptive geometry problems creation. Descriptions of techniques of work in SolidWorks 3D parametric modeller are a part of this thesis, as well as the work with the software itself and description of problems being solved by it. Thesis also includes options of possible use of the final interactive gadget at basic and elementary schools. Moreover, in conclusion there is described to what extend it is appropriate to use SolidWorks software for descriptive geometry problem solving and when some problems might occur.
Usage of computer program Rhinoceros in the lessons of Descriptive geometry
ČEČKOVÁ, Veronika
This work is about the acquaintance with the possibilities and manipulation of CAD program Rhinoceros and its usage in lessons. First of all the work is focused on descriptive geometry and its imagination in space. It is also about the assessment of advantages and disadvantages of chosen program in lessons.
