A Review of the Li-ion Battery in-situ Experiments in Scanning Electron Microscope
Trochta, David ; Klvač, Ondřej ; Kazda, Tomáš
This paper focuses on the description of in-situ experiments with lithium-ion batteries in a scanning electron microscope during cycling. With these experiments, we are able to better understand the working principles and internal processes of Li-ion batteries and improve their efficiency, reliability, and safety based on this knowledge. However, conducting these experiments poses several challenges, which are described in the paper, along with ways in which they can be partially mitigated.

Potential impacts of increasing Chinese dominance in the electric vehicle industry
Čejchan, Jakub ; Semerák, Vilém (advisor) ; Veruete Villegas, Iñaki Alberto (referee)
This thesis aims to measure the potential impacts of the Chinese electric vehicle expansion on the automotive industry of the European union. Firstly it intro- duces the industry of electric vehicles, its supply chain and the development on the global scene, specifically in China and Europe. The potential effects are further estimated using the Global extraction method as a modification of the original Hypothetical extraction method in the input-output framework. It simulates the scenario in which automotive industry, represented by the sec- tor Motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, of all member countries of the European Union are to be replaced by the Chinese automotive industry. This method was applied on the OECD inter-country input-output tables (ICIO) in combination with FIGARO tables provided by Eurostat. The results are then presented in the total output measures and additional component representing the value spent on employees, estimating the most affected sectors and coun- tries in this area, connected with inter-sector linkages. Such estimations point out the industries and countries that could be endangered, in the case the transition to electric vehicles would result in Chinese dominance throughout the global automotive industry. Solid-state batteries in the automotive industry
Sechovec, Michal ; Otipka, Václav (referee) ; Rekem, Jakub (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of traction batteries for electric vehicles. The work can be divided into two major parts: Li-ion batteries with liquid electrolyte and batteries with solid electrolyte. It describes the construction, from electrode materials through the electrolyte to the shapes of the cells and the overall battery pack. It also focuses on current developments and includes a summary of the most used electrode materials today. In the area of solid electrolyte, three groups of materials can be discussed. Prospective combinations of solid electrolytes and electrode materials are mentioned. Further research is necessary before any of the discussed concepts can be introduced to the market. Batteries with solid electrolyte are very promising due to their properties.
Concepts of electric vehicles drivetrain
Bede, Filip ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Kučera, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on a review, analysis and comparison of current electric vehicle drive concepts that form the basis for modern electric vehicles. For a better understanding of the composition and application of the concepts, the individual elements of the powertrain have also been discussed in detail in the thesis. The thesis starts with a brief overview of important milestones in the field of electric mobility. It then continues with a detailed discussion of the electric motors, batteries and gearboxes used. These are followed by drive concepts analysed in terms of their impact on the drivability and efficiency of electric vehicles. Examples of modern electric vehicles are then given to demonstrate the concepts in practice. Finally, current internal combustion engine drive concepts are also presented and compared with EV concepts, thus providing a comprehensive view of current trends in automotive technology.
Design of a PV plant for a family house
Kalousek, Stanislav ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Jandová, Kristýna (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a photovoltaic power plant in combination with a heat pump for a family house. The theoretical part of the thesis includes a detailed analysis and analysis of currently used photovoltaic and heat pump technologies with the use of possible government subsidy programs. Furthermore, the practical part describes the layout of the family house for which both systems are proposed. Based on the knowledge gained, the design of the heat pump and photovoltaic power plant is proposed, including a system for the storage of electrical energy or the sale of surplus to the distribution grid. In addition, a simulation of the operation of the PV power plant is performed in the professional design environment PV*Sol Premium, including a 3D model, module shading, economic and energy analysis of the PV power plant design. Finally, an evaluation of the combination of a PV plant with a heat pump and a comparison with a commercial design from a professional PV and HP installation company is made.
Cognitive Game Battery: Assessing and Identifying Deficits in Memory, Attention, Problem-Solving, and Decision-Making Skills
Vyvinutá aplikace přináší jiný pohled na posuzování kognitivních nedostatků, porovnává uživatelem dosažené skóre s ostatními hráči a poskytuje mu detailní zpětnou vazbu.
E-bikes
Rynda, Vít ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Řehák, Kamil (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of electromobility, specifically the drive tract of electric bicycles or recumbent bicycles. The thesis focuses on the most essential parts of the traction system, which are the battery and the electric motor. It includes an analysis of the different concepts of the mutual arrangement of the power source and the electric motor of currently used electric bicycles. It also includes descriptions and characteristics of batteries, from past to present representatives. It also includes a brief description of the types of electric motors in use. The practical part involves working with software designed for modifying and configuring the control units of electric vehicles with a central electric motor. Several control unit settings are made, where each of them offers customized motor power limits, assistance levels and driving behaviour. The individual settings are tested under the same specific conditions and compared with each other. Finally, a possible ideal solution is proposed in the form of control unit value settings for the examined criteria.
