Organic tranistors for sensorics
Marková, Aneta ; Omasta, Lukáš (referee) ; Vala, Martin (advisor)
The aim was to find the best available commercial formulation of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) and methods and subsequent treatment of thin films for organic electrochemical transistors (OECT). These films will be used in bioelectronic sensors to measure the physiological function of cardiomyocytes. Studied material was PEDOT:PSS in six different formulations. Thin layers prepared by spin coating were modified in three ways, namely (i) immersion in ethylene glycol, (ii) drying and (iii) a combination of drying and ethylene glycol. The layers were then tested for the influence of ethylene glycol, thermal stability, the impact of storage, influence of aqueous medium, and additional thermal annealing. According to the results obtained, the most suitable treatment of most materials was immersion in ethylene glycol followed by thermal annealing of the layer. It was found that the most appropriate material formulation was Sigma Aldrich 739 316 treated by the combination of drying, immersion in ethylene glycol and thermal annealing.
Comparison of biblical motifs in the book and film adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia
FILIPOVÁ, Irena
The bachelor thesis deals with biblical motifs in the novel The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by Irish writer Clive Staples Lewis. The thesis will not only focus on their presence in the work but will also attempt to reflect on the contemporary and modern reception of the novel with regard to the chosen theme. It will then compare the book with the 1988 television series ('The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe', directed by Marilyn Fox) with the 2005 film adaptation of the same name (directed by Andrew Adamson) in the context of the use of biblical motifs and themes. The thesis aims to investigate whether the biblical motifs of the original text are reflected in the film adaptations, and to outline the development of the secularization of the perception of children's stories.
Sequential sampling beyond decisions? A normative model of decision confidence
Rehák, Rastislav
We study informational dissociations between decisions and decision confidence. We explore the consequences of a dual-system model: the decision system and confidence system have distinct goals, but share access to a source of noisy and costly information about a decision-relevant variable. The decision system aims to maximize utility while the confidence system monitors the decision system and aims to provide good feedback about the correctness of the decision. In line with existing experimental evidence showing the importance of post-decisional information in confidence formation, we allow the confidence system to accumulate information after the decision. We aim to base the post-decisional stage (used in descriptive models of confidence) in the optimal learning theory. However, we find that it is not always optimal to engage in the second stage, even for a given individual in a given decision environment. In particular, there is scope for post-decisional information acquisition only for relatively fast decisions. Hence, a strict distinction between one-stage and two-stage theories of decision confidence may be misleading because both may manifest themselves under one underlying mechanism in a non-trivial manner.
Téma ochrany člověka za běžných rizik a mimořádných událostí v hodinách občanské nauky
HLINKOVÁ, Miroslava
The aim of the Diploma thesis is the analysis of "The human protection during common risks and incidents" with the focus on its integration into the lessons of Citizenship and Social Sciences. It is an issue recently classified into the contents of education, and lacks of literature oriented on teaching particularities of the theme. The Diploma thesis contains the analysis of RVP (general educational schedule) for elementary and secondary schools with the focus on the given topic, and the explanation of basic terms and categories of the sphere of the human protection during common risks and incidents. The empiric part of the thesis incorporates some proposals how to layout the curriculum into the individual grades of elementary and secondary schools, including the analysis of teaching methods and teaching materials connected with this topic.
Screening of biological activity of various species of the genus Narcissus sp. II
Saaková, Franciska ; Suchánková, Daniela (advisor) ; Opletal, Lubomír (referee)
Charles Univerzity, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department: Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical botany Author: Franciska Saaková Supervisor: PharmDr. Daniela Hulcová Ph.D. Title of thesis: Screening of biological aktivity of various species of the genus Narcissus sp. II Key words: Narcissus, Daydream (AL-723), Gay Kybo (AL-725), High Society (AL728), Love Call (AL-734), Peach and Cream (AL-739), Sunny Girlfriend (AL-743) a Yellow Salome (AL-745), inhibition of the AChE and BuChE For thousands of years, plants in the Amaryllidaceae family have been used as a source of medicinal remedies. Already in the fourth century B.C., Hippocrates of Cos used oil from the daffodil Narcissus poeticus, for the treatment of uterine tumors. In addition to the already mentioned antitumor activity, this family has a number of other important biological effects such as antimalarial, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, emetic, analgesic, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE) inhibitory effects [11]. This broad spectrum of properties makes them suitable candidates for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, cancer or malaria, whose incidence in the population is increasing. For this reason, it is very important to search for new potential drugs that could find...
Denoise Pre-Training For Segmentation Neural Networks
Kolarik, Martin
This paper proposes a method for pre-training segmentation neural networks on small datasets using unlabelled training data with added noise. The pre-training process helps the network with initial better weights settings for the training itself and also augments the training dataset when dealing with small labelled datasets especially in medical imaging. The experiment comparing results of pre-trained and not pre-trained networks on MRI brain segmentation task has shown that the denoise pre-training helps the network with faster training convergence without overfitting and achieving better results in all compared metrics even on very small datasets.
Personality of owners of high-risk dog breeds
BREJŠOVÁ, Lucie
This bachelor thesis focuses on the personalities of owners of high-risk breeds of dogs. The theoretical part describes a dog as a part of a human life, characterizes high-risk breeds and personality of dog owners, which is based on current research. The practical part consists of a research trying to discover, whether there are statistically significant differences in personality traits of owners of high-risk breeds of dogs and owners of low-risk large breeds of dogs (18 and more kg), owners of low-risk small breeds of dogs (17 and less kg) and a standardized sample. The research sample consists of 739 respondents aged 21-30 years. The data was collected by an improbable selection method through a social network. Personality traits were measured by the Eysenck EPQ-R and IVE personality questionnaires. The EPQ-R questionnaire consists of 106 items that measure a range of psychoticism, extraversion, neuroticism, lies, addiction and criminality. The IVE questionnaire consists of 54 items that measure the range of impulsivity, adventure and empathy. The research results did not support the theoretical background. Only differences in personality traits were confirmed in female owners of high-risk breeds of dogs. Women owners of high-risk breeds of dogs showed a lower level of psychoticism and neuroticism compared to the standardized sample and a lower level of neuroticism compared to owners of low-risk small breeds of dogs. Furthermore, these women evinced a higher level of extraversion compared to the owners of low-risk large breeds of dogs and low-risk small breeds of dogs. Testing also revealed that owners of high-risk breeds of dogs have a lower level of empathy compared to a standardized sample. There were no statistically significant differences in male dog owners.
Lexical skills of upper primary school pupils

Vyhodnocení užitkovosti u masných plemen skotu
MACHÁČEK, Martin
This bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the influences that affect meat production in cattle without market milk production. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the level of selected effects on the results of the performance of the monitored cattle herd. A selection of limousine breeds were selected, namely 78 calves born between December 2012 and January 2017 for a group of 20 breeds. The influence of lambs, childbirth, year of birth, monthly survey and the influence of the mother's exterior were chosen as selected effects on the meat performance of these calves. It was found that the influence of the child was the highest weight of calves since ZLI 739, which showed the best results in all controlled dates. These calves reached 365 days of average weight of 414.5 kg. Furthermore, it was found that the average calf weight after delivery at the first opening was 37.8 kg, and in subsequent rearing the weight of the body born at an average of 1 kg increased. Most calves were born in 2016, with 22 pieces. From the maternal exterior effect, it was found that the highest average weights in the monitored period of 120, 210 and 365 days reached the calves from the mothers with the highest score of the outside, despite the fact that these calves had the lowest average birth rate.
