Philosophy of life quality and health in the work of Jan Sokol
SELLNEROVÁ, Tereza
This bachelor thesis deals with philosophy of life quality and health in the work of Jan Sokol. Theoretical part is focused on defining the term life quality and health, summarizes the development in time and describes different views of special institutions, scientific branches, especially philosophy. Other chapters of this work describe life and work of Jan Sokol. In the end of the theoretical part I tried to compare works of current Czech authors who write about the quality of life and health. I compared their work with Jan Sokol. The goal of this work is to look at the philosophical aspects of power and money, focusing on the quality life and health. This was studied in the quantitative way. I used an anonymous questionnaire for gathering information. The research was realized in March and April 2009 in the region of South Bohemia. 250 questionnaires were distributed, 125 for women and 125 for men. 222 questionnaires were handed back. 3 of them were not complete so they were rejected. The final number of questionnaires was 219. Three working hypotheses were set. Hypothesis number 1 was proved: Excess of financial resources enables us to live a happy life. Hypothesis number 2 was also proved: Excess of financial resources enables us to have above standard health care. Hypothesis number 3 was not proved: Excess of financial resources does not guarantee happy life. The goal of this work was accomplished by the execution of the research. The result shows that most interviewed people, regardless of education, consider their income average in Czech standards. The same amount of informants is satisfied with their income. The same number is not satisfied. The majority of questioned people would feel happier if their income was twice as high. This fact, unfortunately, is the reflection of current consumer society which measures everything by money. The fact is proved by the thoughts and statements of Sokol, which I described in the theoretical part. This bachelor thesis could help parents, educators and pedagogues, who deal with educating and upbringing of children, to point at life values which are not related with sufficiency of financial resources. Implied results could form basis of thinking for each member of present society.

The function of money in business cycle theory
Smejkal, Tomáš ; Janíčko, Martin (advisor) ; Svoboda, Miroslav (referee)
This bachelor thesis is dealing with the topic money and especially emphasizing its function in business cycles. An ambition of this thesis is to resolve dilemma if money, as an important instrument in the real economy, can influence the fluctuation of economy. This thesis is based on the comparison of two distinct schools of economic thought- Post Keynesian and Austrian school. Both approaches despite different opinion on creation and function of money refuse the theory of money neutrality. The phenomenon of deflation is regarded equally from both schools, but Post Keynesian approach, which comes from a work of Irving Fisher, emphasizes negative impact of real debt increment on economy. On the other hand, Austrian School is aware of the unavoidable nature of deflation as a result of boom period, but by avoiding deflation the healing process in economy would be significantly slowed down. Thesis is then focusing on examination of allocation mistakes among individuals. Individuals are making mistakes, but Austrian theory demands further explanation of systematic framework of these mistakes. This view is applied on Minsky's financial instability hypothesis and institutional structure with emphasis on risk and creation of financial instruments. Last stadium of analysis is dealing with particular character of money supply. The Austrian perspective is discussed with reference to Post Keynesian theory of endogenous money and consequent repercussions for Austrian business cycle theory are highlighted. Even in the case that endogenous money theory infirm some of the aspects of Austrian cycle theory the methodological conflict occurs. On the basis of these particular comparisons the conclusion will try to decide if the business cycle is inherently present in every economy or if it is mainly caused by state interferences.

What Has Government Done to Our Money : Do we necessarily need the Central Bank?
Jandová, Daniela ; Antoš, Ondřej (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
Based on inspiration of F. A. Hayek's book "Denationalisation of Money" and a book "What Has Government Done to Our Money" written by Murray N. Rothbard, this work wants to show how can a market with several currencies work. These authors from Austrian school introduce little controversial and for many people unimaginable theme to have banking system without the key role of Central Bank. This also closely related with Hayek's reason of business cycle, which he find in continuous interference with monetary reserves. The work controverts a topic, if it is not just the central banks and a system, which allows fiducially issue money, which caused the actual crises. The point, if a monetary policy of central banks has only caused fluctuations of economy, is still actually. This baccalaurean work deals with questions like: How did the Government interfere with sphere of money? Should we leave the Gold Standard? Would a competition between banks issuing their own currencies work? and many other.

Lad, Richard ; Havel, Jan (advisor) ; Kadeřábková, Klára (referee)
The object of interest of this work is application of the competition on the area of money. Money mediums competed with each other through various characteristics in the history which changed in the dependence on market circumstances, on concrete shapes of money or on interventions of executive. The aim of the work is to show individual forms and kinds of the competition among money and present them with some concrete historical examples. There were some periods of evolution of money where belonged precious comodities gold and silver which were transformed to other forms of coins. The other point was the emergence of money substitutes, particularly of banknotes and deposit certificates which began to differ with reserve cover. The economist von Hayek offers fiduciary banknotes which would be produced by privat banking against a goverment monopol of money where money compete with quite other ways. The final phase offers the situation of by goverment controlled money of today. The sight at the development of the competition among money mediums is realized by helping of the methodology of the austrian school.
