Injuries in equestrian sport in medical rescuer perspective
KŮTOVÁ, Nela
Bachelor's thesis deals with accidents in riding sport from the perspective of paramedics. Injuries in general, can be assigned to states, which are indicated by the departure of emergency medical services. It is therefore essential that the paramedic provides the injured patient appropriate pre-hospital emergency care. Riding sport has recently been easily accessible to the general public and many people do not realize the risks that this sport brings. The theoretical part is focused on riding. Significant part of the theoretical work is dedicated to the most famous riding sports. In every riding discipline was attempt to introduce the sport and its basic rules. The second chapter is formed by the safety equipment designed to protect the health of riders. There are introduced possible causes of accidents. It also focuses on prevention and to introduce basic rules of how to behave with horses. The last chapter deals with first aid at the accident in riding sport. In this part of the thesis is process of the injury from its origin, as well as non-professional help but mainly is incorporated professional pre-hospital emergency care. The research part of this thesis was formed through qualitative research. Data were obtained by semi-structured interview and by studying case studies of selected records about the departure of emergency medical services. Interviews were conducted with selected paramedics in the South Region. The survey which was made, sought only paramedics who has met in their profession the injuries resulting in riding sport in the last decade. Interview contained questions that were surveyed, with which particular type of injury, the respondents met and were interviewed for the implementation of pre-hospital care for patients with these injuries. Partial aim of this thesis has been prepared on the basis of case studies of selected records of departures, which were obtained in the regional center Prachatice. By analyzing of the case reports were received the types of injury caused in riding sport. The research results were compiled and illustrated by tables. The main objective of this work was to obtain information on the procedures of paramedic in prehospital emergency care for injuries incurred in riding sport and the partial objective was to map the types of injuries caused by riding sport. The theoretical part of the thesis can serve as study material for riders and paramedics. Based on the research results will be created an information leaflet with the types of injuries that occurred in the riding sport, together with the methodical process of their treatment in prehospital emergency care.

Suchopár, Jan ; Malá, Ivana (advisor) ; Sobíšek, Lukáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of injuries in childhood. Data we obtained through a questionnaire survey of primary school pupils and pediatric surgeries. Thesis is divided into five parts. The first part describes the causes of injuries. Statistical methods are described in the second part. The third part focuses on methods of data collection and the creation of the questionnaire. The data are processed in the fourth and in the fifth part. The goal is to verify the theory of frequency of injuries in dependence on age, sex and activities of a child using statistical methods. The conclusion summarizes the results of each survey.
Risks resulting from contact of primary school pupils with animals and their prevention through selected thematic areas contained in the RVP
PAVLÍKOVÁ, Jana
The main tasks of this thesis are a mapping of the occurrence of the topic prevention of risks arising from encounters with animals in textbooks for primary scholars, a detection levels of scholar´s knowledge in this field, a creation of a tutorial on this topic and a testing of this tutorial. The survey has shown that scholars have got only shallow theoretical knowledge about the way how to deal safely with common domesticated animals as dogs and cats, they have got almost no experience with bigger farm animals (as pigs, cows, horses). The survey has shown that after completing the tutorial the scholar´s knowledge has become much deeper. There is very low rate of this topic in textbooks for the educational area The Man and his World. The domesticated animals (especially dogs) are presented as a thoroughly good, the scholars are not warned of the possible risks during the meeting with this animals. This thesis was created as part of the GAJU 078/2013/S project.
The use of sedative and analgesic in children's injuries in prehospital emergency care
TOMANOVÁ, Markéta
The theme of this work is the use of sedation during child injuries in pre-hospital emergency care. Children injuries are serious health, economic, and social problems in the Czech Republic, particularly infant, toddler and preschool age children due to their rapid development of physical skills, but this time the development of intellectual abilities does not allow the recognition of dangerous situations. Any sudden deterioration of health of the child is a burden not only for him but also for the parents and all others in its surrounding. Due to a smaller representation of pediatric patients compared with other broad spectrum of health services interventions, young children require more care and therefore paramedics need to be oriented in this field. This thesis focuses on mapping the knowledge of paramedics in connection with the administration of sedation for injuries of children in pre-hospital emergency care. Quantitative research is focused on paramedics working in emergency medical service in Ceske Budejovice and ARO department in the hospital in Ceske Budejovice. At the beginning of the theoretical part, I tried to describe pre-hospital emergency care and specifics of childhood. A large proportion of theoretical work I devoted to chapter about sedation, which is a look into the history of where they could be seen the beginnings of analgesia and pain management. I thought it was important to mention the principle of medication, application paths or drug usage. Therefore, attention is on the chapter of pain, its definition, types, children experiencing pain and elaboration of rating scales. As has been said, injuries are a hot topic, and therefore the next part of the theoretical part is dedicated to injuries. The practical part focuses on the mapping of knowledge concerning the administration of sedation for injuries of children in pre-hospital emergency care. Data were collected from January to March in 2014. Questionnaires were personally handed in the form of printed questionnaires, forms were also distributed electronically. A total of 70 questionnaires were handed in, that is 50 questionnaires to the "RZP" center in Ceske Budejovice and 20 questionnaires to "ARO" department in a hospital in Ceske Budejovice. The return was 82.8 %, which represents 58 returned questionnaires, which were included in the subsequent evaluation of the research. Interviewed paramedics were at the beginning informed with the nature of the research, with an emphasis on confidentiality. Individual questions were designed to obtain the information needed to answer the research question ("what is knowledge of paramedics administering sedation to children in pre-hospital emergency care"), and they fulfilled the objectives of this thesis. The questionnaire contained a total of 15 questions, the questions 1-3 were used for further mapping of the respondents. The following 12 questions were deliberately chosen to find out whether paramedics have the knowledge of sedation during children injuries. These data were then graphically represented and each question separately evaluated. Only questions number 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 were included in the survey to be able to answer the research question. Research questions were statistically using the chi- square test evaluated. The level of significance rejected the claims set ("sufficient knowledge will have 75 % of the respondents") and confirmed the results of research that paramedics knowledge is not sufficient. Finally, research shows that paramedics should be more interested in the area related to sedation, its administration, dosage and possible complications. A training for emergency workers at least once but preferably twice a year could be a solution.
Prevention of injuries of elderly clients in retirements homes
STRAKOVÁ, Dana
This diploma thesis focuses on the characteristics of aging process and old age, it deals with the prevention of injuries of elderly clients in retirement houses. While dealing with these problems the secondary literature is properly researched and analysed. The main aim of this thesis is to find out whether proper measures for prevention of injuries are taken in the selected retirement houses. The theoretical part of thesis focuses firstly on possible risks of injuries, secondary on the measures needed within the scope of prevention of injuries. Regarding the methodology the qualitative research is being used and it is based on interviews and observation of the researcher himself. In the practical part of the thesis the outcomes of the research are discussed. As the result there are proper measures taken by the retirement houses to lower the risks of injuries. This diploma thesis might be used for education and enhancement of awareness of the staff in the retirement houses.
