Recycled material in Stone mastic asphalts
Motl, Vojtěch ; Coufalíková, Iva (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with an issue of adding a Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) into surface courses, especially SMA 11S. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the term RAP and explains how to gain RAP and how to use it for a hot recycling at asphalt plants. The practical part deals with the design of asphalt mixture containing 30 % of RAP, the preparation of test specimens, the description of executed tests and the results of those tests. The results are compared with SMA 11S without RAP.
Asphalt concrete with reclaimed material - design
Kučerová, Marcela ; Koudelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on the design and testing of asphalt mix type asphalt concrete containing R-material. The theoretical part is dedicated to the RAP in asphalt mixtures produced by hot, in particular the specifics during design and manufacture of asphalt mixture. Next there is introduced further information relating to the functional characteristics of asphalt mixtures and the influence of R-material on them. The practical part describes the designs and testings on mixtures ACO 11+ and 11+ 50% RAP. In order to compare the proposed mixtures were carried out tests of low thermal attributes according to ČSN EN 12697-46 and cracking using uniaxial tensile test according to ČSN EN 12697-46.
Usage of of common reclaimed asphalt in asphalt mixtures
Přívara, Jakub ; Coufalíková, Iva (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on adding of RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) to the wearing asphalt courses flexible pavements. Specifically it is SMA 11S asphalt mixture. The theoretical part describes issues of ecology and recycling. The practical part deals with bitumen recovery from SMA mixtures with different added ratios of RAP and assessment of basic empirical and functional tests on the bituminous binder. The verification of properities of modified bituminous binder used in this quality SMA mixtures is also introduced.
Cold asphalt mixtures with R-material
Ševc, Jan ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the use of R-material into cold asphalt mixtures. It deals with cold recycling and with input materials for this technology. It verifies properties of R-material and residues of bituminous binder. It also verifies properties of designed cold asphalt mixtures by the probative controls (indirect tensile strenght and water resistance). Furthermore is focused on the experimental measurement of selected mixtures to ensure more characteristics. The amount of homogenity of R-material, quantity and quality of residues bituminous binder is essential for positive results.
Influence of usage of recycled material on asphalt mixtures functional properties
Šperka, Pavel ; Hegr, Zdeněk (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the topic of using recycled material in the production of asphalt mixtures. In the theoretical part the methods of recycling flexible pavement are described and as well as ways in which recycled material is added to asphalt mixtures produced by the stationary hot mix plant. The thesis also deals with the current state of recycled material use in the Czech Republic and the reasons for its possible greater use. The practical part of the thesis studies the effect of using the amount of 20% recycled material to asphalt mixtures of asphalt concrete for wearing course ACO11+, on selected functional properties of these mixtures. It is also investigates the influence of bitumen binder contained in the recycled material, on the final properties in manufactured asphalt mixtures. An integral part of this thesis is a description of all methods that were used during the processing of the practical part. In the end of this thesis there are some results of findings about adding recycled material into asphalt mixtures.
Usage of recycled materials to asphalt mixtures
Zítka, Patrik ; Kašpar, Jiří (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the R-material use in asphalt mixtures. In the theoretical part, different kinds of flexible pavement recycling and ways of adding R-material into asphalt mixtures are discussed. The practical part deals with asphalt layers design and manufacture, specifically for binder course ACL 16+. R-material content in the blends is 0%, 20%, 25% and 30%. EVOTHERM MA3 rejuvenator is used as additive for softening of R-material. Various mixtures are compared based on tests - resistance to permanent deformation, resistance to the effects of water and low temperature properties.
The usage of asphalt and concrete recycled materials to roads
Svrčina, Vít ; Valentin, Jan (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
Currently it is important to address the re-use of building materials from construction reconstructed or upgraded roads. Commonly used technologies cold and hot asphalt recycling are starting using to complement with technologies using cold asphalt mixtures with rejuvinators or softeners. This type of asphalt mixtures could be used in pavement constructions with lower traffic load. This thesis deals with the design and laboratory assessment of unbound and bound mixtures R-material and recycled concrete. This thesis is experimentally testing the possibility of using functional tests to optimize the design of asphalt mixture with 100% representation of R-material with a possible revival of asphalt emulsion with a rejuvenator.
Asphalt mixtures with the use of higher amount of RAP
Mucha, Bohumír ; Matoušek, David (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
At the beginning of the Master’s thesis the asphalt mixture of the type asphalt concrete and its basic properties are described. The main point of this work is to compare the functional properties of asphalt mixtures with the addition of higher amount of RAP and various rejuvenators used in the experimental section. From individual samples of asphalt mixtures taken during the laying, the control tests were carried out and the process of permanent deformation with the wheel tracking test was monitored. After that, using functional tests the properties of asphalt mixtures with conventional modified and unmodified asphalt bitumen enriched with the addition of declaring similar properties were compared.
The issue of increasing the proportion of reclaimed asphalt in asphalt mixtures
Urbanec, Luboš ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The subject of this Ing. thesis is asphalt mixture with increasing RAP (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement). The theoretical part defines the terms of recycling and RAP and types of recycling. The practical part is devoted to the production and testing of asphalt mixtures with different volume RAP. The proposed asphalt mixture is asphalt concrete for base layer ACP22 +. Content of RAP in mixtures is 0%, 30%, 50% and 70%. As a special additive to soften the asphalt from RAP is used ingredient STORFLUX. For each mixture are established modulus stiffness of asphalt mixture and determined fatigue characteristics of asphalt mixture. The identified properties are compared for the different representation of RAP.
Design of asphalt mixtures with the use of higher amount of RAP
Pavličík, Petr ; Matoušek, David (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
In the introduction of the Master’s thesis describes for obtaining and processing of reclaimed asphlalt. Major point of the thesis is design of asphalt mixtures with use of higher amount of RAP for asphalt binder course. Asphalt mixtures were designed with contents of 0%, 30%, 50% and 70% of RAP. On each asphalt mixtures were compared parameters set out by functional tests – resistence to permanent deformation and resistence to water.
