The importance and functioning of Service (Business) Centres for Logistics Companies

The target of the Bachelor thesis called "The importance and functioning of Service (Business) Centres for Logistics Companies", is to bring up reasons that lead Logistics companies to set up such centres and to describe their function. The Theoretical part describes what actually Logistics means and what functions and activities fall under this term. It also deals with Human Resources and some common IT topics. The Practical part then builds on the Theoretical and describes in detail what activities are usually handled in Business centres, which ones are ideal for them, reasons for opening of these centres and setting up of the processes needed for smooth operations. It also rates all advantages and disadvantages of Business centres. A major part in Business centres is played by the Human resources, which means that the Practical part describes what motivates the employees, what the approach should be towards them and what are the problems that HR needs to tackle on daily basis. In the end, the Thesis wants to come to a conclusion, whether or not it is viable for Logistics companies to set up such centres and also gives some practical recommendations.

The objective of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the stock management in the company Gala a.s and propose measures for its improvement. The thesis is divied into two parts, literature review and theoretical part. In the literature review are defined basic terms from the logistics, stocks and its management, property of company and purchasing together with the choice of supplier. In practical part is evaluated current state of stocks, there are described current ways of stock man-agement together with problem areas and next are suggested individual recom-mendations for ways of stock management.

This bachelors thesis deals with inventory management, their optimize with using ERP system JD Edwards EntrpriseOne. First part deals with issue of inventory management and advanced purchasing methods. Then continues with analysis existing methods of inventory management in company. Based on results is proposed new method in company not used yet. With this is related program implemented and results are evaluated.

Logistics management of money circulation

The main objective of this thesis was to map the logistics system coins and notes circulations in the Czech Republic and design a system of logistics activities in the exchange of cash money, when Czech Republic adopts the single European currency. The secondary aim was to describe the current currency exchange preparation and propose an optimization based on currency conversions in the past and in other states. The important was to get the information by structured interviews with technical staff Czech National Bank in Prague and with former director of the Czech National Bank in the Czech Budejovice. Based on the information was described distribution chain of cash money. Part of this thesis is devoted to the current issue of the introduction of the euro in the Czech Republic. The exchange of cash money is the most visible element of currency change. Also puts the greatest demands on the logistics management. Based on the information about the euro changeover in other states have been proposed recommendations for the Czech Republic.

Reverse Logistics in Food Supply Chains

For better understanding of the meaning of reverse logistics it is necessary to analyse and describe its function in a real company. In this case, the company Kaufland ČR, v. o. s. is used to fulfil these tasks. The main objective of the presented thesis is to analyse the function of reverse logistics in the company and to compare the findings with theoretical knowledge; alternatively, to try to suggest some innovations in the company.

Storage system optimization in factory Dobrá voda

This bachelor thesis is focused on the proposal of the storage system optimization in a selected company - Dobrá Voda. The theoretical part is dedicated to the definition of essential logistics concepts and processes, emphasizing the importance of the whole storage system functioning and the use of appropriate storage technologies. The practical part is devoted to the examination of the selected subject with a focus on the observation of sectional warehouse processes, which are subsequently evaluated. The data assessment and analysis contributes to making crucial decisions. The aim of the research is to find a critical factors of management and operation of the warehouse and suggest how to optimize individual parts of the warehouse processes and achieve an overall optimization of the storage system.

Logistic optimization of vehicles and staff in the CZE Army

The thesis is focused on logistics transport sector, particularly transportation in the Czech Republic and partly on the military transports differences. The theoretical part covers the history of transportation, describes the most common methods, their advantages and disadvantages for the owner and for a society. Specifics, e.g. associated risks of military transports, are also covered in the theoretical part as well as an overview of national authorities involved in military transports planning and execution process. The practical part brings up model examples of military vehicles and equipment transport using different means (military transport capabilities; national railway net or contractor/carrier). The aim of thesis is to analyze and compare three different methods of transportation from the perspective of military requirements. In first method the transport will be provided by own available military road trasport capabilities. Next will be a rail transport utilizing the ČD Cargo and the last one provided by an independent contractor.

This work is focused on the system of logistics of individual supply chains, there is the comparison of relevant indicators and finally there are determined critical factors, suggestions and recommendations.
