Accelerometer-based quality estimation and segmentation of ECG signal and compression of high-quality segments
Opravilová, Kamila ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Němcová, Andrea (advisor)
This diploma thesis is devoted to segmentation of ECG signal based on its quality and compression of quality segments suitable for diagnostics (in telemedicine). A completely new approach is to use accelerometer data to estimate ECG signal quality. This is possible thanks to the Bittium Faros mobile recorder. It records both the ECG signal motion – accelerometric data. A total of 34 features were extracted from accelerometric data. Using these features the predictive model was taught to classify the ECG signal into 3 quality groups according to the level of noise. Quality segments were compressed. The wavelet transform in combination with high-frequency bands zeroing and length encoding was used as a compression method.

The optimized functional application algorithm was tested on a sample of independent subjects and a mean deviation of 0.74 beats per minute (BPM), relative to the ECG reference record, was reached.
Modern technology in prehospital emergency care
BRŮŽKOVÁ, Nikola
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of modern technologies in prehospital emergency care. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on individual technologies, which are, according to available sources, considered modern. The set goal, which the bachelor thesis should fulfil, is to find out about applicability of modern technologies in prehospital emergency care. Two research questions were also established: which modern technologies are used in prehospital emergency care and what impact do modern technologies have on the providing of prehospital emergency care. To fulfil set goal, research study was conducted in a qualitative form via the semi-structured interview technique. These interviews were processed using open coding and after that, the analysed data were sorted into individual categories. The research sample consisted of paramedics of the South Bohemia region. The practical part of the bachelor thesis contains results of the research study, in which the answers to the previously mentioned research questions were found and in addition to that also the opinion on modern technologies in prehospital emergency care from the point of view of a paramedic. In the answers of the paramedics was found, among other things, that they all agree on the fact, that the app Záchranka benefits prehospital emergency care. On the contrary, a drone, as an unmanned aerial vehicle, does not have that much of a significance for the prehospital emergency care of the Czech Republic, actually exactly half of the respondents did not have any knowledge about this medium. It was also found, that, according to the respondents, modern technologies overall significantly influence prehospital emergency care, however the experience was not always a positive one. This bachelor thesis can be beneficial due to the processed information in the theoretical part and following results in the practical part.

Weight Predictor
Kaiserová, Iveta ; Kádě, Ondřej (advisor) ; Šefc, Luděk (referee)
The incidence of obesity is rising worldwide, and one of the major challenges in its treatment is sufficient motivation to persist in the therapeutic process. The factors determining the success of a reduction attempt are also not entirely clear. Therefore, the aim of the "Weight Predictor" project is to develop software that predicts weight change over time in response to lifestyle interventions, and the aim of the thesis was to define the factors influencing weight reduction by testing two hypotheses: "Younger patients reduce their weight more easily than older patients." and "A cooperative patient reduces their weight more easily than a non-cooperative patient." The daily weight, diet, and steps of 29 patients were collected via mobile and web apps, and body composition was measured at regular nutritional consultations. The collected data were processed through exploratory and correlation analysis. Due to insufficient number of records, two patients were excluded from the analysis of daily records and three patients from the analysis of body composition. First hypothesis was not confirmed, while correlation analysis indicated a higher success rate in older patients, which can be explained by the positive correlation found between age and self-monitoring (r = 0.45, significant at p < 0.05). Education as a part of modern nursing in patients with heart failure
CHÁROVÁ, Martina
Introduction: The submitted bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of education of patients with heart failure syndrome. The theoretical part mainly contains a brief insight into the anatomy and physiology of the heart, which is followed by a detailed description of the heart failure syndrome, its division according to various criteria, types of its diagnosis, clinical symptoms, its consequences and methods of treatment. The theoretical part also contains the theoretical basis with an emphasis on modern methods of patient education in general, including special procedures for the education of patients with heart failure syndrome. The theoretical part on education also discusses, among other things, the possibilities of using information and communication technologies in patient education and the involvement of the aforementioned technologies in the care of patients with heart failure and in their treatment, i.e. the use of a remote version of education, monitoring and implementation of treatment. Target: The empirical part of the work deals with the influence of education on the awareness of patients with heart failure and the level of their knowledge about the said disease. The methodology: To carry out the research, a special questionnaire was created, through which data was obtained documenting the level and quality of currently conducted education of patients regularly visiting heart failure clinics, the extent of their knowledge about the mentioned disease, and the respondents' satisfaction with the content of the education and the methods of its implementation. Since the created hypotheses following the established research questions work significantly with the gender of the respondents, the aforementioned questionnaire contained a question regarding the gender of each individual respondent. The results: The answers of the respondents, obtained from several specialized workplaces, were subsequently subjected to statistical investigation. The results of the evaluation show that the gender of the respondents does not significantly affect the degree of their education and does not play a fundamental role in the evaluation of how satisfied the patients are with the education provided. Conclusion: On the basis of the obtained results, graphs were prepared, illustrating in detail the evaluation of the respondents' answers to the individual parts of the created questionnaire. The results of the work can serve as study material for any health professional or student who shows a deeper interest in this issue.
