The phenomenon of homelessness represents an extreme expression of social exclusion and poverty. The numbers of homeless people increase as unemployment rate, high pressure and modern day societal demands on individual increase. This thesis deals with the internal and external factors that lead to this phenomenon as well as the internal and external factors that help to reintegrate them into society. The theoretical aspect discusses issues of homelessness ? concept definition, types and causes of homelessness. It also highlights the motivation and process of change in client behavior. It concludes by describing forms and types of social work associated with these types of clients. The empirical part discusses causes of homelessness and clients' motivation to change their lifestyle. The methodological approach employed is quantitative. Data was collected with the use of questionnaires from clients in low-threshold centre in Brno. The research results show that the most common causes of homelessness are material reasons associated to job loss, debt and loss of housing. Other causes include relationship problems, failed partnerships and dysfunctional family relationships. More personal causes are mental or physical disability as well as various types of addiction. This research is also focused on internal and external motivational factors leading to a change in lifestyle of homeless people. On the one hand, the results show that most homeless people are internally motivated by the desire to start a family, to have a stable background, a dignified life and money. On the other hand, they feel externally motivated by the offer of social services, the possibility of selling the Nový prostor magazine or even by family and friends. The results of this research can be used to provide feedback to organizations dealing with issues of homelessness, or to compile a professional magazine article.

DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Tereza
Abstract Social services for people with autism This diploma thesis is focused on the issues of social services for people with autism. I have concentrated my research on people looking after the people with autism. In the theoretical part I deal with the explanation of the term autism, division of autism, I describe specific work with people with autism, some kinds of therapies, social services for people with autism and some organizations working with people with autism. In the practical part of the work there are written and evaluated interviews with the respondents. Collecting information was done by the qualitative form, via the method of asking. As the method of colleticting data the half-standarised interview was used. The group for the research was formed by the people looking after the people with autism. I spoke with eight caretakers in total, they were always parents of the children with autism. The choice was done by the method of snowball. Each interview was elaborated into eight case studies. The results of the interviews were transformed into tables and summerized in a discussion. The aim of the diploma thesis was to map possibilities of social services for people with autism and if they have possibility to use these services. Other aim was to find out which services are used the most by these people and if they suit them. Then I investigated if these services are accessible financially, by quantity and quality and if they copy the requirements of a family and individual needs of the people with autism. The interviews with the respondents show that the families living in Prague have the possibility to use social services for the people with autism. The respondents living in smaller towns have more difficult access to these services and very often they do not have the possibility of any choice. This work could contribute to quality improvement of providing social services to the people with autism. In my opinion, it is necessary to educate non-professional and professional public in this issue. This is the way to provide better services reflecting the needs of the people with autism. Key words: autism, social services, social relations, communication

A method of qualitative approach was applied and a method of analysis of case studies was used for data collection. The main technique of data collection was an interview with directions which I used with 10 homeless people who were in asylum house and with 10 homeless people who were present directly at the public areas. In the context of this thesis five research questions were determined. The primary data was coded/indexed and then processed with the framework analysis according to Ritchie and Spencer. The outcomes of the research showed that the most frequent reason for the origin of homelessness is alcohol addiction. Most frequently it is related to single or divorced man and women. The daily regime of homeless people is from a greater half regular. Among the most frequent daily activities in the asylum house can be mentioned watching television, cleaning common areas of the asylum house, fixed activities and drinking coffee. The outdoor activities mostly constitute of collection of metal, cooking, shopping for food and searching the garbage bins. They usually spend winter nights in facilities of social services (doss house, asylum house), in a tent, in makeshift shanties, or in a squat. Most people spend their days with their friends or partners. People who live in public areas are more willing to make some extra money. There was three times higher experience with begging of the people who live in public areas than people who live in asylum houses. People in asylum houses usually pay for day board meals. People who live outside in public areas procure their food in supermarkets, day centres and doss houses and in garbage bins. For homeless people nicotine addiction is more frequent than alcohol addiction. They perform their personal hygiene in the facilities of social services (day centre, doss house, asylum house). They usually get their clothes from social or asylum clothes supplies. They do not live in relationships with partners however people who live in the public areas have more sexual contacts. The aim of this thesis is to determine what entails the implementation of social work supervision to non-governmental non-profit organizations providing social services in the district of Chrudim. The practical part presents results of qualitative research. Hypotheses are defined in the conclusion. The research questions are: - What are the obstacles to the implementation of supervision to non-governmental non-profit organizations providing social services? How is supervision accepted by workers of non-governmental non-profit organizations providing social services? How is supervision accepted by directors/managers of non-governmental non-profit organizations providing social services? The section Results shows results of the interviews with directors and workers. In the discussion I deal with the results and focus on the areas I wanted to explore in particular?that is, I am looking for answers to the research questions. The answer to the first question is that the obstacle to the implementation of supervision to non-governmental non-profit organizations providing social services is represented by the lack of financial resources. The answer to the second and third questions is that the staff as well as the directors of non-governmental non-profit organizations providing social services accept supervision positively.
