Klima třídy a emoční inteligence žáků
Pokorná, Jana
For a comfortable stay at school and pupils' good academic performance, the climate in the classroom is very important. Three terms generally relate to a school classroom: environment, climate and atmosphere. Classroom climate, thereby this work also deals with, is a long-term issue, which may be dependent on pupils who attend the class and on their emotional intelligence (EQ). Emotional intelligence cannot be measured by any values; however, by means of tests it can be assessed whether individual EQ is positive, negative or neutral. Likewise, the classroom climate is not measured by real values, but based for example on a questionnaire survey it can be determined whether the climate is good, bad or falls somewhere in-between. In the theoretical part this thesis deals with emotional intelligence and classroom climate. The analysis of the views of individual authors, who deal with the issue was conducted, followed by synthesis and comparison of these views. In the practical part of the thesis the assumptions are determined, derived from the theoretical analysis. The evaluation of the results of the questionnaires investigating emotional intelligence of pupils and particular classrooms` climate is also included. The subject matter is monitored in the 1st and the 4th year of high school, in classes of two fields: engineering, which is attended mainly by boys, and social services, which is mostly attended by girls. The survey is conducted using a questionnaire survey and the evaluation of the questionnaires is done by simple statistical methods. The results are very interesting because based on the questionnaires it was found that the only assumption that was really confirmed is that there is a difference in emotional intelligence of pupils in the boys` and in the girls` classroom. Further assumptions, that the climate in the classroom is better when positive emotional intelligence of the pupils is higher and that the climate in the classroom is better in the 4th than in the 1st year, have not confirmed.
