Crisis management in French foreign policy: Centre de crise
Holubová, Tereza ; Perottino, Michel (advisor) ; Matějka, Ondřej (referee)
Diploma thesis Crisis management in French Foreign Policy: Centre de crise deals with the Crisis Centre (Centre de crise, CDC) which was inaugurated on the French Ministery of Foreign and European Affairs in July 2008. It is an innovative tool of treating crises abroad that arose from fusion of two older agencies that separately focused on help to French nationals in crisis situations abroad and humanitarian and other aid to local civilians in areas afflicted by a crisis, whether a natural disaster, armed conflict or a terrorist attack. The newly founded Centre combines both of these attitudes. It thus presents a very specific tool for treating risks and crises in foreign policy. It is an example of application of theory of crisis and risks management to field of foreign policy. The aim of the work is to analyse the French foreign policy from point of view of crisis management with focus on treatment of crises in abroad through analysis of the Crisis Centre of the Ministery of Foreign and European Affairs.
