The influence of cobalt additive on parameters of positive electrode for Ni-Cd accumulators
Svoboda, Michal ; Svoboda, Vít (referee) ; Špičák, Petr (advisor)
The Master´s thesis deals with description of the influence of cobalt additive on positive electrode parameters for Ni-Cd accumulators. Trough the use of Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance are analysed the effects which decline effective life of positive electrode during accelerated cycling. Theoretical part describes important characteristics of Ni-Cd accumulators, the working principle and effects which are in progress on positive electrode during cycling. The next part deals with description of system EQCM and the pricnciples of doping active mass with cobalt additive. Practical part consists of EQCM system calibration and electrochemical measurements. The principal aim is detection of the influence of cobalt additve on active mass during cycling in different electrolytes. From the results of measurements is set the optimal amount of cobalt additive.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of separation of antibody against adhesin A of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori (HpaA) using magnetic particles. It includes information about various methods of detection and determination of pathogens, in our case Helicobacter pylori and at the same time, contains optimization of conditions for determination of the mentioned antibodies.
Lead-acid battery formation
Hlaváč, Pavel ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Vaculík, Sebastian (advisor)
This bachelor project deals with the pulse charging of lead-acid batteries and ways of formation of electrodes so that the new batteries can constantly offer high performance and efficiency for its life. The work is an attempt to compare and determine whether the formation of different charging modes will not have a major impact on the quality of a formed battery. The formation of the different modes uses both the pulse and continuous charging. Everything is tested on four manufactured articles. The production of positive electrode and formation of accumulator is processed in various chapters of my project at our workplace.
Electrochemical detection of purine bases using thick film Cu2O electrodes
Gabriel, Petr ; Prášek, Jan (referee) ; Pekárková, Jana (advisor)
This work deals with the production process thick films electrodes. It is focused on the Cu2O working electrodes preparation by screen printing and spray coating - methods on the corundum substrate. In this work are described both methods of fabrication and basic electrochemical methods. Prepared Cu2O electrodes were used for electrochemical detection of purine bases (adenine, guanine) using cyclic voltammetry. The effect of pH on the detection of purines was also examines.
Properties of electrode materials for alcaline accumulators
Fusek, Petr ; Vrbický, Jiří (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
The Bachelor´s Thesis is aimed at the problematic of the binders, that effects the features of the positive electrode of alcalic accumulators. The additive used on nickel´s electrode was cobalt. In the practical part of this thesis there is described a process for etching the nickel electrode and the following electrodepositions applied on these electrodes. Measurements of different concentrations of nickel and cobalt were examined and analysed in the graphs which are part of this thesis. There have been made comments of these graphs and the conclusions and observations as well.
Temperature changes in lead-acid batteries
Grepl, Jan ; Chladil, Ladislav (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is familiarization with the basic lead-acid batteries construction with specialization on their differences. This work is divided in theoretical part and practical part. At first, the theoretical part deals with basics of functions of electrochemical cells and their fundamental division. In the case of lead-acid batteries the work focuses on the fundamental chemical reactions and fundamental principle of their construction. Aftwerwars are also in this part included negative phenomena, which can occur during the operation of the lead-acid batteries and possibly decrease their capacity or shorten their lifetime period. In practical part takes part description of measuring station. Subsequently is realised the correction of masurement sensors. Finally there takes place an analysis of measured parameters in experimental cell in CC and CC/CV charging mode.

The measurements of earthing systems and the role of electrical soil resistivity
Capyk, Jan ; Jurák, Viktor (referee) ; Vyčítal, Václav (advisor)
The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on explaining the concept of soil resistivity, applicable methods of its measurement, comparison of two methods used to measure the resistance of the earth electrode and a description of the measuring device Metro PU 193 used for the practical part of the thesis. In the practical part, the reader is acquainted with the results of measuring soil resistivity and earth resistance in the field, with their evaluation with respect to various influencing factors and with designs of earth conductors for high voltage poles for which soil resistivity was measured. The thesis contains plotted graphs of various dependencies according to the results of measured values and compares them with theoretical assumptions.
Evaluation of usage effectivity of myoprosthesis in individuals with inborn or aquired amputation of upper extremity
Maleš, Jan ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Strnad, Pavel (referee)
Thesis title: Evaluation of effectiveness of using myoelectric prosthesis by people with congenital or acquired amputation of the upper limb Aims: The aim of my thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of myoelectric prosthesis using by people with upper limb amputation. Find out how effectively users are able to manage individual tasks with myoprosthesis and basic ADL activities. Methodology: The research group consisted of 6 people with upper limb amputation. In this thesis, there were used three methods of data collection. The first method that was applied was a survey, which was used to obtain anamnestic data by the research group. The second method of data collection was the observation of probands during the performance of individual tasks. The third chosen method was measurement by using a special test aimed at evaluation of the effectiveness while using and the involvement of myorpothesis in the locomotor chain against a healthy upper limb. Results: Based on observations and measurements, it was performed that all probands are able to functionally and effectively involve the myoprosthesis in the locomotor chain in the performance of individual tasks. Another positive result of this thesis was the finding that all probands obtained in the test over 50% rate of effective use when comparing the...
Evaluation Of Temperature Influence on Lead-Acid Battery Properties
Langer, Martin ; Zimáková, Jana (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with lead-acid batteries, their properties and individual types that are available on the market. The temperature dependences of the battery parameters at different ambient temperatures and at different discharging and charging modes are measured here. The theoretical part of the work deals with electrochemical cells in general, description of their main parts and principles of operation. The work analyzes the types of batteries used, their advantages and negatives. In the case of a lead-acid battery, its internal structure and the function of the electrodes and the electrolyte are taken into account. Furthermore, a description of individual possible negative phenomena that take place in lead-acid batteries and contribute to the end of their service life is included. In the practical part, 6 batteries are tested at different charging currents, which provides information about their behavior both during discharge and at the time of charging. During the experiments, testing is not only performed at room temperature, but the batteries are also exposed to high temperatures up to 75 ° C.
