Social rehabilitation as a social service providers provides social services under Act 108/2006 Sb. about Social Services, as amended. Social rehabilitation is provided through outreach, outpatient or residential services. The research seeks through qualitative research strategies to assess whether the former client Center for Disabled satisfied with the skills they have learned in the center for the disabled. To collect data using semi-structured interview "face to face." Based on the stated objectives of the work were created by two kinds of topics. The first set of questions relates to the skills that are taught clients at the Center for People with Disabilities (social rehabilitation), particularly if former customers need skills that are learned in the Center. The second set of questions relates to the contrary, the excess of these skills, particularly if former clients of centers for disabled some of the skills that are taught at the Center for People with Disabilities reside. The respondent group was made up by 8 former clients of the Disabled Centre, established by the Archiepiscopate Charity of Prague. All obtained information is presented in case studies. Significant reduction the need in personal assistant services has been found. Although the clients declared they need services of his/her personal assistant, they are anticipated to make this activity, since they are able to manage the assistance. Their health condition does not allow performing these activities by themselves. Also, it was investigated whether the skills obtained by former clients of the Centre in the course of their social rehabilitation are sufficient or not. Out of eight respondents, seven indicated the skills they have obtained are sufficient for unassisted life in his/her apartment. Two woman respondents indicated they had to adapt furnishings in their apartments to their skills. One indicated her skills are not sufficient. The last section of the research was focused on examination of whether some skills of the respondents obtained in the Centre are in excess. Answering the question about excess skills obtained in the Centre, five respondents indicated they have not any skills in excess. Three respondents indicated they have obtained some skills in excess in the Centre. However, these activities, in many cases, can be important. One respondent indicated he does not need the skills related to shower, since he has not any shower cubicle for handicapped in his home. The second respondent indicated he cannot move from the wheelchair to the bed and back because of a new seat. The third respondent indicated she has to find new ways how to get to WC and shower since the interior of her apartment has been re-arranged. Children's lifestyle in Kid's Centre of Southern Region
ŠIMEČKOVÁ, Irena
Growing up in a loving family is important for every child. Where the family is for any reason unable to provide the necessary background, the child is placed into substitute care, either in a family setting or an institution. The state prefers surrogate family to institutional care. The beginning of the theoretical part of my thesis focuses on the child?s rights contained in the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Basic Freedoms, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and under Act 359/1999 Sb. on social and legal protection of children. I?ve described types of substitute care ? in a family setting (foster care, temporary foster care, adoption, committing the child into the care of a person other than his parent, guardianship) and in an institution ? and gave an account of the sequelae of childhood institutionalisation. I explained how the CAN syndrome manifests itself and what kind of children fall most frequently victims to abuse. I explained the importance of a family for a child and what does family recovery mean, what are the needs of children, and the ethnic group. The theoretical part concludes with a description of the South Bohemian Child Centre. The Child Centre is situated in the town of Strakonice. It?s a non-governmental health-care facility that can accommodate a maximum of 25 children. The South Bohemian Child Centre was established in 2005. Under Act 359/1999 Sb. on the social and legal protection of children, as amended, the Centre runs a facility accommodating children who require immediate help. The facility is primarily intended for 6-year-olds and younger; upon agreement, an older child may be admitted as well, in particular if he or she is a sibling. The help provided to children by the facility includes healthcare and social, legal, educational and psychological care and counselling. Under Act 108/2006 Sb. on social services, the Centre runs social rehabilitation intended for mothers and family members in need of help to be able to manage caring for their child, and also for future adoptive and foster parents. Parents have 5 dwelling units at their disposal. I divided the research into two parts. The first objective was mapping the life situation of children in the South Bohemian Child Centre between 2009-2011. The second objective was to establish how the social rehabilitation scheme has been utilised since the South Bohemian Child Centre was established. In order to achieve these objectives, a quantitative research had been designed, with secondary and content data analysis. I followed 9 criteria in the first research group: 1. reasons of admission to the CC, 2. age at the time of admission to the CC, 3. age at the time of leaving the CC, 4. the average length of the child?s stay in the facility, 5. ethnic group, 6. their state of health, 7. their mental state, 8.contact with their biological family, 9. reasons of termination of their stay. In the second research group dealing with social rehabilitation where parents stay with their children, I followed 4 criteria: 1. reason of admission into the social rehabilitation scheme, 2. the parent, 3. length of stay in the facility, 4. success. The results of this thesis will serve for the purposes of the South Bohemian Child Centre and be of use to anyone interested in these issues.

HANČLOVÁ, Svatava
A social rehabilitation in the Seniors´ Home Máj in České Budějovice A social rehabilitation is a complex of activities encouraging an independence, self-sufficiency and social integration of clients of the Seniors´ Home. An aim of the thesis is to evaluate a progress of the social rehabilitation in the Seniors´ Home Máj in České Budějovice. A qualitative research was carried out to achieve objectives of the thesis. Five clients were chosen in order to determine a subjective evaluation of the social rehabilitation. Semi-standardized interviews were conducted with them. An observation method was applied at their engaging in activities in the Seniors´ Home as well as at seniors outside this facility, and a method of document analysis. Obtained information has been contained in case studies and they were analysed by using a grounded theory. Semi-standardized interviews were also conducted to find out attitudes of the professional staff and managers to the social rehabilitation. Factors affecting clients´ social functioning were also monitored in a course of the observation. Information from the interviews with the staff and the observation were again analysed through a method of the grounded theory. The thesis confirms findings of similarly oriented researches. It shows that the course of the social rehabilitation is influenced by institutional, personal and economic influences. The effect of applied methods and techniques of the social rehabilitation depends on an approach of the staff as well as clients and a quality of the clients´ social relations. The research has proven that an integration of clients in the facility as well as outside is supported by a wide offer of leisure time activities. Even if the clients in the Seniors´ Home have enough opportunities for mutual meetings, they are not usually successful in establishing a fully-fledged friendship and they often feel lonely. Although there is encouraged self-sufficiency per clients´ individual needs in the Seniors´ Home Máj, therapeutic activities are conducted and clients participate in physical activities, their level of self-sufficiency reduces. Results of the diploma thesis are stimulating for the staff of the Seniors´ Home Máj as well as for other social service founders and providers.
