Building and use of small computer networks
Pecka, Jiří ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Palovský, Radomír (referee)
The thesis deals with a new design for the home network according to the given requirements of its users. The main aim is to describe how the network can be expanded to include other elements to allow users to access the Internet, data storage and other services via wireless networks in selected locations. The thesis it divided into three parts. The first part describes the previous state of the network and users' requirements for improvements. The second part describes the network and device settings. The third part is devoted to the network testing, including evaluation of the signal strength of access points in all areas of the selected sites and attack simulation on the access point.
Building and use of small computer networks
Koželský, Marek ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
This thesis deals with the construction and use of small computer networks. The first part describes the theory of computer networks. There are mentioned network standards, active and passive components. This part is also given for security. All this information mentioned is used in the second section which is aimed at improving the WiFi signal coverage in a family house and data backup solution for household users.
Building and use of small computer networks
Šilhavý, Dominik ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Palovský, Radomír (referee)
This bachelor's thesis describes present network of Vyšší odborná škola obalové techniky a SŠ in Štětí. This school consists of five segments, which are interconnected by different technologies. In these segments it is possible to connect both with cable or wireless. The goal is to perform detail analysis of the network, thanks to which I will be able to expose narrow spots and suggest solutions which could lead to elimination of these problems. I reach it by collecting information about functionality and plans of the network, thanks to which I can perform analysis and then suggest changes leading to increased efficiency. This thesis contains description of the network including plans, network addresses, devices, security and monitoring. My contribution is performing all the measurement and based on that I can suggest changes in hardware or software leading to improvement of the current network.
Building and use of small computer networks
Zitta, Vladimír ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with the design, construction and testing of a home computer network. The first part is theoretical and is devoted to network elements, protocols and standards that will occur in the home network. The second part is practical and deals with the main aim of the text, designing extended home network and it's implementation. Described are selected network elements, configuration, network services and subsequent testing of the network.
Innovations school information system in term of the data management and security
MUSIL, Josef
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyse a current situation and shortcomings of a computer network in a specific educational environment within the information system. I will propose a comprehensive solution for the modernization of the information system and the related necessary network infrastructure, in term of the backup and data storage, network security and multimedia data management including the financial balance of the project. A part of this bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the current situation of the information system and computer network of the Střední uměleckoprůmyslová škola sv. Anežky České. The analysis is based on my own research. It also contains a survey among teachers and students to determine their point of view on the current situation of the information system. Depending on the discovered information I will propose specific solutions to improve the current situation at the selected school. This bachelor thesis includes the entire structure of the information system and the modernized network. It can serve as a summary of basic information to resolve the issue of sharing, protection and transmission of information within the school environment. Its objective is to present a practical and purposeful summary for innovation of the information system of a school including a stable computer network.
Building and use of small computer networks
Kratochvíl, Pavel ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
Bachelor thesis is focused on principles of computer networks functioning from a theoretical and practical view. The purpose of this work is to describe theoretical principles of computer networks functioning on ISO/OSI reference model and TCP/IP architecture, describe computer sites according to types, topologies and sizes and briefly describe computer network components, standards and server system in connection with the practical part. Practice part describes a computer network of a particular company in general as well as operations connected to a network. Practical part further includes technical documentation with a description of structured cabling in a new building as well as design of partial innovation of servers, network components and operating system that enables a use of innovative solution of centralized user administration. In order to create the theoretical part there were literature, internet sources and previous knowledge of the author gained during secondary school and actual university studies used. In the practical part is applied work experience gained in a particular firm.
Building and use of small computer networks
Böck, Adam ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with small local area networks which are used mainly at households. The work is divided into four main parts. The first describes the theoretical part of the networks, contains types of topologies, network models and the description of network devices. It also deals with both copper and wireless networks. The second part is focused on introducing the current status of my home network, which is extended in the third part of this work. The extension includes adding the server and providing network services. There is shortly described the setting of the services and the verification of the functionality in practice as well. The last part of this bachelor thesis is devoted to the project of the small business network using the latest available devices.
Building and use of small computer networks
Šrámek, Jan ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
This paper deals with small local area networks. It describes types of network topologies. The paper also deals with network models and gives a brief review of basic protocols. Next part discusses Ethernet metallic network types and also wireless networks. Mentioning wireless networks it focuses on standards of signal transmission and instruments providing their security. Last theoretical part is devoted to active parts of local area networks. In the practical part of this paper are described instruments for building a home local area network and also suggestions for their improvement. This paper also deals with a small local area network with ten stations designed for enterprise usage. It also examines about choosing appropriate server for both environments. Last topic is building own home local area network. This network provides Internet connection and ensures network security through network server. Linux distributions are being briefly discussed, concretely distribution Ubuntu, which is installed on the network server. Work goes through basic configuration of the server, which provides basic functionality of local metallic and wireless network. In this part, link aggregation is being described. Server configuration also uses RAID technology. Some services are being provided by the server in the network, such as DHCP, FTP, Samba, basic configuration of these services is also included in this paper.
