Heat pumps

The Bachelor thesis contains a brief introduction to heat pumps problems and analyses a principle of their operation. In this thesis there is further mentioned partition and characteristics of compressors, heat exchangers and refrigerants. In the thesis there are described heat pump types, which are: air–water, water–water and ground–water, including advantages and disadvantages and conditions of realization. The last part of the thesis deals with calculation of investment in the case of using heat pump for hot service water heating and its analysis.

This bachelor thesis shall inform readers about basis types of heat exchangers used in power industry and their basis sorting. They are sorted not only from the point of view of their purpose and function, but also, from the point of view of their construction. Apart from that, there is a comparison of recuperative heat exchangers. Moreover, the thesis deals with possibilities to enhance their efficiency, possible problems in service and ways to solve these problems, maily with sedimentation and cleaning heat exchangers.
Heat Exchangers and the Issue of Their Fouling

The aim of this work is to sort and schematically describe single types of heat exchangers. The problems of their fouling, fouling monitoring and fouling speed reduction are discussed as well. This work also contains an analysis of fouling effects and possible ways of their removal.

This bachelor thesis describes design of heat exchanger for sodium cooled fast reactor of the IV. generation and compares the achieved solution with other realized projects. The first part deals with brief description of individual types of the nuclear reactors of the IV. generation and their main assets. There is an emphasis on the description of the sodium cooled fast nuclear reactor. The second part deals with complex design of a heat exchanger, when the initial concept is considered to be a heat exchanger with sodium on one side (warming medium) and carbon dioxide on the other side (heated medium). The core of this part is comparing individual concepts of the heat exchanger when variable construction materials are used. Furthermore there is accomplished range of heat, hydraulic and strength calculations of basic proportion of the options of the solution of the heat exchanger with work medium inside of pipes and outside of pipes. There are presented summary of the accomplished observation and comparing of the designed concept with realized similar projects in the conclusion.
