Measurement of the rain rate instantaneous value using acoustic method
Kresta, Daniel ; Poliak, Juraj (referee) ; Wilfert, Otakar (advisor)
This thesis deals with implementation of the rainfall rate measurement using an acoustic method. It is divided into four parts. In the first part of the thesis a necessary theoretical knowledge is analysed. The second part contains a design of a workplace used for the measurement. The third part presents and analyses important experimental recordings acquired in the workplace. Then all measured values are processed and applied in the measuring program. The last part summarizes results of the thesis, advantages and disadvantages of using the acoustic rainfall rate meter.
Rain Prediction Using Meteo-Radar
Gerych, Petr ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
This paper deal with the rain prediction in the short time interval. The static pictures from meteo-radar serves as input data. The principle of meteo-radar is explained. The possible methods of the object detection and registration, motion interpolation and extrapolation is described. The flood fill algorithm and Lagrange extrapolation is applied to rain prediction. Application is written in C++ language under OS Linux. The example of the software application results is included.
Realtime Weather in a Landscape Visualisation
Vlček, Adam ; Jošth, Radovan (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
Thanks to the increasing computation power the complexity and dynamism of virtual reality is continuously improving. This work aims to examine influences of weather in a landscape and the means to simulate and dynamically visualize them in real time on the current personal computer hardware. The main goal is to find quick well looking approximations rather than a complex physically correct simulation. The work covers using modern programmable GPU not only for visualization but also as a powerful simulation instrument. The main topic is water movement in the terrain and its effects on it like erosion, snow melting and moisture impact on vegetation. This requires dynamic terrain texturing and algorithms supporting fast geometry and normals updates.
Atmospheric Phenomena
Radouš, Jakub ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Kobrtek, Jozef (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with a visualisation issue of several atmospheric phenomena by means of the OpenGL library. The work contains theoretical bases for rain, snowfall, lightning, fog, wind, tornado and rainbow, which are further converted to the form of algorithms. The outcome is an application with graphical user interface that is able to display seven natural phenomena set in a landscape.
Flood Control Measures Design in the Březnice Creek Basin
Zárubová, Kamila ; Menšík, Pavel (referee) ; Starý, Miloš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the flood control. In particular, the design of a set of small water reservoirs with retention effect (polders) and their effect on flood flows. The work is divided into two parts, the first part refers to the bachelor thesis. In this thesis is description of the catchment, rainfall-runoff process and the evaluation of the ratio. That was got the necessary information for the design of polders. This is an abbreviated repetition of the contents of the thesis, which is a continuation of this work. The second part deals with the specific design of two reservoirs, including hydro calculations and drawings. For this work were used ArcGIS - ArcMap, Hydrog and to create drawings AutoCAD 2010.
Draft measures against floods in the basin of a small watercourse Mlýnka
Řeháková, Adéla ; Jaroš,, Lubomí (referee) ; Starý, Miloš (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with protection against flooding in the basin of a small watercourse Mlýnka. The aim is to get information about runoff in the watershed and the proposal dry reservoir as flood measure. The first part of thesis deals with the survey watershed, getting materials, schematisation watershed, constructing rainfall-runoff process. In the second part is designed dry reservoir. Schematisation has been made using ArcGIS, rainfall-runoff process was done in software HYDROG and drawings have been processed by AutoCAD.
Flood control measures in the Nectava River basin
Boháč, Ondřej ; Menšík, Pavel (referee) ; Starý, Miloš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the flood control in the basin Nectavy. The aim is to assess the need enhance flood control in the basin. The work is divided into two parts, the first part deals with own description of the basin and the second part with data processing in programs ArcGIS and Hydrog. The description of the basin consists of a personal acquaintance with the basin and its surroundings, interview with residents of communities located along the river and description of geographic factors in the basin. After obtaining all necessary informations will be basin schemed in the program ArcGIS where it will be divided into smaller sub-basins which will require for further work. The output from the previous step is used for processing in the program Hydrog, to work in this program is also needed to calculate the replacement intensity of rains. Simulation in the program Hydrog are obtained critical period of rains and set N-year flows. In the end the obtained values of peak flows are compared with the actual flows and identifying critical points are assessed for possible flow and flood.
On Forward and Backward Scattering from Fog and Rain Drops
Fišer, O. ; Rejfek, Luboš ; Brázda, Vladimír
This contribution deals with the backward and forward scattering on dielectrical spheres. The well-known Rayleigh, Mie and Optical regions are discussed for frequencies regions 0.05 to 70 GHz and for optical wavelength of 830 nm. Some of our results fit the published one, some of them are different and the explanation of possible reasons is added. Also the formulas necessary to compute the radar reflectivity or attenuation due to fog and rain are presented.
The analysis of the utilization of farm machinery used to repair damage caused by flash flooding.
KULHÁNEK, Pavel
The aim of the thesis is to analyse possible consequences caused by flash flooding and the work that is needed to repair the damage. The thesis gives basic information about utilization of farm machinery, auxiliary working adapters and traffic appliance suitable for realization of work plans to remove the flooding consequences. The thesis should help accredited authority with decision making and with repairing and securing the consequences caused by flooding.
It's Gonna Rain: Analysis of Determinants of Pool Attendance in Czech Republic
Hyneš, Ondřej ; Hudík, Marek (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
This paper reveals by econometric analysis the determinants of pools attendance and analyzes them. In a sample of attendance of ten pools in the Czech Republic for three summer months concludes that, among others, the weather forecast, specifically the rain forecast, for the day significantly affects attendance. Although rain forecast is only for a less than a third of the observations consistent with actual rainfall observed in the day, visitors over time do not adjust their expectations and forecast is playing an important role. This may be due to rational ignorance or the high cost of transmission of information among visitors.
