Analysing Factors of Physical Activity Across Different European Countries

Sufficient physical activity is one of the most important factors for maintain our overall health. The positive effects of physical activity are reduced risk of heart disease or stroke, hypertension, type II diabetes and some types of cancer. Being physically active also improves our mood and reduce anxieties. Therefore, it is important to understand, what effects the level of physical activity of population. That is the aim of this study. The study describes the determinants of physical activity various five European countries, using the data from INHERIT survey. The analysis focuses on censored data and is conducted with sample selection Heckman Two-step estimator model, addressing separately the factors of deciding whether or not participate in an activity and performing the activity. The differences between determinants for three types for physical activities are examined.
Support of the patients indicated for coronary artery bypass graft surgery

The bachelor thesis deals with the support of patients indicated for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery and their satisfaction with it. Psychological support of patients played an important role in preventing complications and therefore it was important to focus on the patient as a holistic human being. The objective of this bachelor thesis was to find out the method of patient education; to map the knowledge of healthy lifestyle, non-adherence to which led to indication of coronary artery bypass graft surgery; and to find out the level of mental support of patients indicated for coronary artery bypass graft surgery. To achieve these objectives, a qualitative investigation method was used, where data was further collected through semi-structured interviews with patients after coronary artery bypass graft surgery. A total of 10 patients were interviewed just after this procedure. The result of the research investigation which indicated that patients had not enough information regarding a healthy lifestyle, non-adherence to which led to the indication of coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Another shortcoming resulting from our research was the fact that patients had not have enough psychological support before the procedure, despite the fact that it was so important for physical health. However, the patient education by medical staff was satisfactory in our research. The research showed that the staff provided sufficient and good quality education in verbal as well as demonstrative form. The information booklet for patients undergoing cardiac surgery, which they all received before the procedure, was very positively evaluated by the patients as part of the education. According to the results, it was recommended that it would be appropriate to appeal to the necessity and need to offer psychological support to patients during their hospitalization as part of staff training.
Health benefits of effective strengthening as part of an active lifestyle

The aim of my thesis is to summarize the knowledge about the positive impact of strengthening and active lifestyle on health. This diploma thesis is also a literature search of basic concepts related to topics such as health, health, lifestyle, strengthening, the positive impact of physical activity on health and the poor impact of insufficient exercise on health. It is also possible in this work to observe knowledge from the field of strengthening, compensatory exercise, diseases of civilization, forms of relaxation or the basics of nutrition and drinking regime. In the practical part, a quantitative method of questionnaire survey was used. The questionnaire survey was distributed via the social network Facebook in order to find out the relationship of the addressed respondents to strengthening and active lifestyle. Part of the work was to determine the research assumptions, which were evaluated and then more specifically analyzed in the discussion. The results obtained from the questionnaire survey were processed and converted into a graphic form. At the same time, the established hypotheses were statistically processed and evaluated in the SPSS Statistics program. The diploma thesis focuses on the benefits of effective strengthening in the field of health and active lifestyle and its aim is to positively influence human consciousness in this area.
Stress manegement strategies for students of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice

Our society is constantly changing, accelerating and bringing new knowledge. Activities which took a few days 30 years ago are nowadays a matter of second thanks to the technological advance which is changing our society into information kind. We can perceive every change as an influence or interference with the original state so if a society is changing significantly, it brings stressors and stressful situations for the individuals which live in it. In addition, in the last two years the society has gone through several months of covid-19 pandemic which changed life of almost everyone on this planet. These changes, prohibitions and threats bring new stressors to life and negatively affect both physical and mental health. That was the reason why I decided to dedicate my thesis to stress management strategies. The objective of the thesis is to point out the importance of mental hygiene, healthy lifestyle and mental health in the context of life and experiencing it. In the practical part, I also conducted a stress management strategies survey for people from my immediate environment and students of the University of South Bohemia. Survey as a quantitative method of public opinion research searches for answers to predetermined research questions, then chooses representative sample from the ranks of students of University of South Bohemia, who are given a standardized questionnaire SVF 78. It is evaluated in the conclusion of the thesis. The answers to the research question are the found from the final analysis of gathered data. I firmly believe that my thesis will be able to serve not only as a manual for everyone who experienced this period of changes which affected their mental wellbeing but also as feedback for the reader, how he himself handles incoming stress and new stressors.
Differences in the negative aspects of the lifestyle of pupils at the 2nd level of several schools in České Budějovice and in Prague.

This bachelor thesis deals with the negative aspects of the lifestyle of pupils in the second stage of primary schools. The first part of the bachelor thesis includes theoretical knowledge about lifestyle and factors influencing its appearance, then examines addictions and deals with the issue of some types of addictions. The causes of their occurrence are also emphasized here. The second part of the thesis focused on the questionnaire that was filled out by students in schools and examines what results were found in it. The questionnaire dealt with their lifestyle and inclused questions about negative aspects such as alcohol, drugs, and social networks. It considered a questionnaire survey of children who are in the second stage of primary shools in České Budějovice and Prague.
Health education at primary schools in the South Bohemian region

In my bachelor's thesis, I focus on outlining the form of teaching Health Education in elementary schools of South Bohemian Region. The main goal was to determine, whether the subject Health Education is taught in elementary schools and if not, how much interest is shown concerning an inclusion of this subject into the schedule. In the theoretical part, I concern myself with the explanation of the term health, the program Zdraví 21, health education, characteristics and content of the subject Health Education and healthy lifestyle in total. In contrast, my practical part comprised a research method in form of an anonymous questionnaire sent to directors of all elementary schools of South Bohemian Region, which are 250 in total. Questionnaire was returned by 148 out of 250 schools
Obese adult people vs healthy lifestyle

This bachelor thesis is focusing on the topic of Adult obesity versus healthy lifestyle. The theoretical section explores the problematics of obesity. Specifically, its history, types, causes, prevention, illnesses it can cause as well as treatments of this condition. Additionally, attention was also given to the topics of a healthy lifestyle, healthy diet, and individual macronutrients. The practical part includes three objectives. The first goal was to summarize the literary review of obesity and healthy lifestyle of the adult population. The second aim was to compare the dietary composition of obese individuals and individuals with physiological weight. The last objective was to present a comparison of the eating habits of obese respondents and respondents with physiological weight. Subsequently, two research questions were stated. The first question: 'What are the differences in the dietary composition of obese individuals and individuals with physiological BMI?' and the second question: 'How physically active are obese individuals when compared to individuals with physiological weight?' The research sample was composed of ten obese individuals and ten individuals with physiological weight. Both groups were asked to complete an anonymous questionnaire. The answers were used to determine the physical activity and eating habits of both groups. To compare the diets of both groups, the Nutriservis profi software was utilised, analysing weekly diets provided by the respondents. The average values of nutrients consumed per week were compared to examine the differences between the research groups. According to the findings, most obese respondents are not eating periodically and exercise only occasionally. Conversely, individuals with physiological weight are eating regularly in the majority of cases and exercise 2-3 times a week. In respect to the dietary compositions, the obese individuals reported a higher average intake of protein and overall higher intake of energy than individuals with physiological weight.
Characteristics of life style of police officers at the intervention unit of the Police in the Czech Republic in the town Czech Budweis

The thesis deals with the lifestyles of the police intervention unit members in České Budějovice. In the theoretical part there is a description of a history and creation of police intervention units and their main tasks in the Czech republic in general. Next the thesis describes main characteristics of individuals in the positon of a sniper, a diver, a negotiator and a pyrotechnician, including a description of a selection process before becoming a member of the Intervention unit in České Budějovice. Last but not least the thesis decribes determinants of healthy and active lifestyle. The answers concerning the lifestyle of the members of the Intervention unit in České Budějovice are evaluated in the practical part of the thesis.
Secondary stress prevention of the Pedagogical Faculty students of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of stress of university students of field of study teaching. It focuses on the mental health and mental resilience of future teachers, whose professions are among the risky in terms of stress and its health effects. As part of secondary prevention, it examines students' habits in the field of stress management, while evaluating the effectiveness of individual health-beneficial and non-beneficial anti-stress techniques. The work also maps the students development of coping with stress and focuses on stress as a factor influencing academic success.
