Analysis of the Nonprofit Sector and its Potential for Regional Development

Nonprofit sector is regarded to be ever more significant part of a democratic society. Within the European context it is seen as a partner of public and commercial sectors also in relation to the development of specific regions. On the level of local action groups, which apply the LEADER methodology, it is directly defined as an inseparable partner of regional cooperation and development. The aim of the thesis is a detailed survey of nonprofit sector in the area of Local action group NAD ORLICÍ. Additionally, it focuses on analyzing the potential of nonprofit sector for the following development of the region. Several researches were conducted in order to collect as much data as possible. Analyses of publicly accessible databases and information sources as well as of records acquired from the respective specialized institutions were performed. Simultaneously, independent questionnaire surveys were carried out, focusing on representatives of local authorities and representatives of non-governmental non-profit organizations. Both researches were mainly quantitative, having covered also some aspects of activities and cooperation between the non-governmental non-profit organizations and public sector by use of a simple qualitative analysis. Local Action Groups as a way of development of rural area in South Bohemian Region

The objective of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the functioning of Local Action Groups in whole South Bohemian Region and confirm the hypothesis, that Local Action Groups can expediently develop South Bohemian rural area, based on appropriate research of their activities until now and prediction of future state in new programme period. In the theoretical part will be defined the term rural area and briefly defined the territory within the South Bohemian Region. Also it will include definition of Local Action Group and LEADER method. In the practical part there will be in detail demonstrated the benefit of Local Action Groups for development of South Bohemian Region, briefly clarified the LAG evaluation system, based on the questionnaire survey the possible future aiming of LAG activities will be outlined and also activities of Local Action Groups in coming programme period will be predicted.
The Activity of the Local Action Group LAG Strakonicko and its Impact on Regional Development

This bachelor thesis deals with the activities of the local action group called LAG Strakonicko region. The theoretical part defines general terms concerning the development of rural region and local action groups which have risen. The practical part introduces the organisation LAG Strakonicko region and also evaluates its activities so far. Based on the evaluation of analysis there are suggested appropriate arrangements for the future. This work results in judging the impact of LAG Strakonicko on the development of that region. In the questionnaire there was inquired the awareness of local inhabitants about the LAG Strakonicko.
The analysis of the means of financing of local action groups in the Czech Republic in 2015

This bachelor thesis is focused on the means of financing local action groups (LAG) in the Czech Republic in 2015. The purpose of the work is to analyse the means of financing of chosen LAG and evaluate, which of them are sustainable. Theoretical part deals with the importance of LAG for regional politics and residents of rural areas. Further there are theoretically described available means of financing for LAG. In the practical part the results of the survey carried out by The National Network of Local Action Groups in the Czech Republic are evaluated. There is also an analysis of annual reports of chosen LAG.
Evaluation of the Benefits of Local Action Group "Společnost pro rozvoj Humpolecka"

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the Local Action Group around the town Humpolec called "Společnost pro rozvoj Humpolecka", to characterize its activities, scope and benefits for this area. The theoretical part explains terms concerning the field of the Local Action Groups such as the region, regional development theory, the Common Agricultural Policy or programming periods of the EU. The practical part outlines historical development of the group from its inception to the present. The thesis is also focuses on cooperation, investigates whether the chosen group is cooperating with neighbouring villages, another LAGs or foreign LAGs. Another aim of this thesis is to assess the projects in previous years and evaluate the success of the group as a whole association in terms of the principles of LEADER. The evaluation is reached by a structured interview with the manager of the LAG and also by comparing SWOT analysis with strategic plans of the LAG. From the SWOT analysis the evaluation was accomplished by using matrix IFE, EFE, IE and Fuller method and in the thesis was determined the ideal strategy of the LAG.
Influence of LEADER to rural development in the territory of the Local Action Group

This thesis is based on the analysis of Local Action Group called Partnership Moštěnka from the Region of Olomouc and Region of Zlín. Theoretical part is focused on the description of each projects and strategic plan called LEADER of the Local Action Group. In the practical part are explained terms involved to problems of regional development and describe to the history of this Local Action Group. The thesis concerns about their activities and contribution to the region. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the impact of LEADER on rural development in selected Local Action Group alias LAG. Through the LEADER began to cooperate with neighboring communities, as well as local action groups, not only on a regional, national, and international levels. The thesis contains proposal and recommendation to problems, which was founded during collection of information.

The aim of the presented diploma thesis is the evaluation of financial support of micro-regions Chelčicko - Lhenicko and Vlachovo Březí through Local Action Groups (LAG) "Rozkvět zahrady jižních Čech" and "Chance in nature" within the Rural Development Programme in the Czech Republic for the time period of 2007-2013. Special emphasis has been given to Osy IV. Leader. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts of rural development, such as defining the rural characteristics of the population and rural development players, Rural Development Programme 2007-2013, and the Leader method. The principles of the Leader method are used by local action groups in gaining support from EU funds. The practical part is focused on the evaluation of the existing support of both micro-regions under PRV Osy IV. Leader to assess the activities of both local action groups, and the contribution of the financial support and activities of LAG to the development of rural areas.
Impact of implementation of projects of the LAG Moravská cesta on the development of the Litovelsko-Pomoraví region

The thesis aims to analyze the impact of projects realized by the LAG Moravska cesta on the development of the Litovelsko-Pomoraví region. The document is divided into theoretical and practical sections. The theoretical section deals generally with the concepts of development, local development, studies different forms of cooperation between communities and other types of subjects and introduces the Rural development policy for 2007 - 2013 period. The practical section presents the LAG MC, realized projects and their impact on local development, on the top of that it also compares the objectives and priorities of the Strategic plan LEADER with realized projects. Such comparison is based on project analysis. Moreover, a survey among the mayors of member communities of LAG MC has been realized.
Utilization of EU funds in the selected area

The thesis focuses on drawing subsidies from European funds, main focus of the thesis is the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The aim of this work is to evaluate project, which has been implemented with support of European subsidies. The project is called Modernization of elementary school Skřipov: reconstruction of boiler room to biomass heating system. In the practical part will be assessed whether the project achieved the desired results and what is its current development, in this part will be also evaluated financial returns of related measures that can improve the outcome of the original project.

This bachelor thesis focuses on forms of cooperation between municipalities in terms of the legislative framework of the Czech republic. Introductory part focuses on forming conditions for the realization of forms of cooperation between municipalities, the importance of cooperation and division. The most comprehensive section focuses on the specific forms of cooperation and their positive or negative aspects. Followed by the specific form of cooperation in the selected region with empirical research. The final section is devoted to the problems and suggestions for solving them.
