Social worker has to be able to cope with problems even related to the clients? family. In this bachelor thesis I have endeavored to respond the question whether social workers can conduct elements of psychotherapy in their work. From the results I judge that it is correct for the social worker to use them. It is apparent that in the helping professions it may be important to use elements of psychotherapy but only in the case when the individual possesses the required education, sufficient experience and personal prerequisites so that they would not harm themselves or the client.
