GeoGebra as a tool for solving problems with parameters
Kudělková, Anna ; Novotná, Jarmila (advisor) ; Jančařík, Antonín (referee)
Teachers of mathematics can use modern technology to improve lessons and make them more interesting. The present work focuses on the usage of GeoGebra as a graphical solution for selected parametric problems. Data for this work was collected from mathematics textbooks, and internet sources, among others, were used as an inspiration. The work briefly describes GeoGebra software, its features, history and also the community that uses it. The main purpose of the work is to use GeoGebra to solve problems from the domain of geometric constructions and analytic geometry in such a way that shows the main advantages in comparison with the classical solution. In the present work, five mathematical problems are thoroughly analyzed and, for each problem, a set of illustrative examples solved in GeoGebra is provided. KEYWORDS: GeoGebra, parametric problems, graphical solutions
Exercises and problems in linear algebra ane geometry
JELÍNEK, Jan
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compile a collection of problems from linear algebra and geometry. The collection is intended to be used as a teaching tool at the high school and university. Some tasks are resolved in the collection. Sample images created in a suitable dynamical geometry program (GeoGebra) are used when entering and describing the solution.
GeoGebra in mathematics education
Havelková, Veronika ; Zhouf, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Jančařík, Antonín (referee)
The aim of this work is to introduce and assess the potential of using GeoGebra software on multiple levels of mathematical education process and to analyze the expectation of pupils and students using this program. A reader is introduced to GeoGebra program itself and to various researches and articles sharing this common topic - usage of dynamic geometry educational programs and GeoGebra in mathematical education. This work is supported by two field researches that were carried out at the second stage of an elementary school and by another reseach made with students of mathematical education at the Charles University, the Faculty of Education. Next part of this work presents and covers more possibilities of using this program in the educational process of the second stage of elementary schools, and it also shows various options the program offers not just for teaching of mathematics, but also for other fields.
Interactive textbook of descriptive geometry
Krsová, Michaela ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor) ; Zhouf, Jaroslav (referee)
An aim of this diploma thesis is to create interactive descriptive geometry coursebook. As a basis for coursebook creation was used "Present State of Descriptive Geometry Education on High Schools Survey" which was proceeded via questionnaire. Before the creation of coursebook itself were made analyses of accessible textbooks, geometric softwares in use and possible environments for coursebook content presentation. A result is integrated part of subject matter taught on high schools complemented by solved examples and interactive applets created in software GeoGebra. The coursebook content is presented in a form of HTML sites on a public website http://www.sadsam.cz/dg/ and also as an off- line version on DVD disc enclosed.
The use of new technologies in teaching mathematics
BUMBÁLEK, Roman
Modern information technologies accompany all of us in our daily life. They not only use to serve to our work and for the entertainment, they even have got a great potential to be used in the education. The submitted thesis deals with the appropriate utilization of the special IT application in the pedagogic process, especially in teaching of maths, the topic of trigonometric functions. The aim of this thesis is to create structures with a high potential of the modern technology handling. To tackle this task the graphical program GeoGebra was chosen due to its qualities for creating dynamic structures and the other advantages presented further in the thesis. To the created constructions the detailed instructions how they can be constructed are added. The thesis is also accompanied by worksheets with solved tasks, focusing on the application of trigonometric functions in real situations.
Interactive word tasks with GeoGebra.
JANČICH, Jakub
This work serves as an auxiliary collection of math problems of the foundations of arithmetic. All examples are processed in GeoGebra and placed on the websites. Using GeoGebra is achieved by a dynamic surroundings where each user can change the input data word problems. Because jobs are designed to integer results, change the input data can lead to tasks that do not have a solution. Thereby, each user can test all the task results. For each example is explained algorithmic background and instructions on the creation of a similar example. All of these examples were tested the children from the second grade of elementary school. And from their mistakes and results, there are outlined and solved the problem sections at the end of examples.
The issue of teaching sets of points with given properties at elementary school
HARAZIMOVÁ, Tereza
The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe various methods for examining loci of points of given properties. I have chosen both the classical approach and new technologies such as dynamic geometry software GeoGebra or a programme from CAS (Computer Algebra System). The topic loci of points of given properties is often very difficult for pupils to understand, therefore it is important to look at it from various points of view, to choose interesting application tasks and thus motivate learners in their studies. In this paper I present several suggestions for more attractive and amusing ways of teaching this issue at primary, secondary and university level of education.
Representation of space objects in the solid geometry
KREPSOVÁ, Lenka
The thesis deals with the representation of objects in the solid geometry. The first part contains a summary of theorems and definitions which are needed for understanding problems of mutual position of lines and planes, cut of objects with a plane and intersection of the object with the line. The second part contains a collection of worksheets for students. It has been created a solution for each worksheet. This solution can be used in printed version or in electronic version which is created in the software GeoGebra. This thesis can be used in tuition or self-studying.
The use of dynamic geometry software to determine conics and other curves around us.
TEN HAGEN, Libor
This bachelor thesis concerns conics and their occurrence in the world around us. The aim is to point out the connection between geometry and everyday live, between theory and practical use of conics. The first part deals with conics, their equations and constructions. Some pictures made in software GeoGebra are given as well. Second part deals with basic information of constructions of bridges and describes their properties. The third part contains photographs of conics. Most of photographs depict bridges, which are analyzed in the software GeoGebra. Every photographed object is shortly described.
