Corporate financial distress prediction by means of methods of financial analysis

The thesis deals with the corporate financial distress prediction by means of methods of financial analysis. The goal of the thesis is to apply chosen methods of financial analysis to the sample of two Czech textile-processing companies and to evaluate their predictive abilities. Both companies have a lot in common, but each of them is in a completely different financial situation. This fact facilitates the evaluation of the predictive value of particular methods and offers a background for their comparison. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the theoretical basis of the methods. The next part describes their application in practice and adds a critical judgement with regard to the predictive value. The summary of all the acquired results is to be found at the end of the thesis.

Financial Analysis of Company ABC

This thesis is focused on financial analysis of company ABC that works in rubber industry. First part is aimed at theoretical interpretation of financial analysis, its goals, history, users and sources. Attention is paid to sources of information especially financial statements. Further basic methods are defined, which financial analysis uses. Ratios are described in this thesis above all. At the close there is practical display of financial analysis based on data from financial statements of company ABC and its internal sources.

The aim of my work was financial analysis the company Domita a.s. in the period between 2004-2007. The work is divided into two parts theoretical and practical. The theoretical part contains methods and techniques of financial analysis. The second part is introducing the aplication of the theoretical background on a particular example of a company Domita, which is the maker of baking product in South Bohemia.

The theme of my bachelor thesis is financial analysis of the Ravak Inc. from view of external user in period 2004 to 2007. In theoretical part of the thesis, there are defined meaning and importance, user and methods of financial analysis and sources of information. Practical part contains basic information about company and application of theoretical knowledge to accounting data of Ravak Inc. Conlusion contains evalution of results and financial situation of company.
