The use of logistics in a manufacturing company

The graduation thesis deals with the use of logistics in the brewery Pivovar Protivín a. s. The paper presents a view of the current situation of Czech breweries in the Czech Republic as well as in the world. It maps the trends of recent years in the brewing industry and shows how Czech breweries have faced up the economic crisis. The results of Pivovar Protivín are presented and compared with the results of Svijany brewery. The distribution of Protivín brewery products is analyzed. Based on the analysis, the time frame of beer delivery to customers is made. Further on, the questions of the packaging management in Protivín brewery are dealt with. Breweries are specific for complex and expensive reverse logistics of returnable packaging. The question whether producing beer in PET bottles would be appropriate for Protivín brewery is studied. Determining the level of services provided for brewery customers is examined. According to the results presented here, the greatest demands on services provided by breweries appeared to be those by the customers in gastronomy sphere. Based on the questionnaire investigation, the standards in providing brewing services were set together. Finally, I suggested possible improvements that should lead to cost savings, greater flexibility of operations and competitive advantages for the Protivín brewery as well as for the whole K Brewery Group.
Are the consumers willing to pay for GI products?

In 1992 the European geographical indication system was established. Through the years more than thousand of foodstuffs were registered to the system. Czech Republic joined the system through access to EU in 2004. In this paper the consumer's willingness to pay for selected product that carries geographical indication is analysed. For analysis the panel data from brewing industry are used. The results of the work are that the presence of a protected geographical indication in the interaction with other features of the product may affect the willingness of consumers to pay for the product. For example, was shown that the interaction of the protected geographical indications and bottled draft beer can influence the consumer's willingness to pay for GI product.
Malé pivovary a jejich význam pro cestovní ruch

The main aim of this thesis is to analyze, whether small breweries are important for tourism and how they eventually make an effort to offer their products. The first part of the thesis focuses on beverages, their types, the development of their consumption and also their importance for nutrition. The second part describes the history of the Czech brewing industry and the development of small breweries. The third part analyses small breweries in regions of Czech Republic and in the last part is made a confirmation, how small breweries react on individual needs of their clients.
Heineken in Czech republic- product protfolio analysis

Bachelor thesis analyzes the product portfolio strategy of Heineken Czech republic, joint-stock company, by using the theoretical basis and applying this knowledge in a practical part. In this part I compare different brands of portfolio. Paper analyzes the strategic business units (SBU's) in the product portfolio, comparing them with competitors and revealing a possible threat or benefit on the market. Work should help reader, to have a comprehensive view on the product portfolio strategy of Heineken Heineken Czech republic, joint-stock company.

Furthermore, it describes the use of the Category Management in a selected retail chain and a process of creating Category Business Plans. The master thesis ends by an application of the Category Management and Category Business Plans theory on an illustrative case of a Beer Business Plan.
Production technology of non-alcoholic beer

The aim of the Bachelor thesis is a literature review talking about the Technology of non-alcoholic beer. The first part of this work is dedicated to the general conditions of beer production. Talking about processes such as malting, brewing and some general information about malting and brewing raw materials are included to this first part. The second part is devoted to non-alcoholic beer. It talks about the history of non-alcoholic beer and its development, nonalcoholic beer as it is, ways of its preparing, non-alcoholic beer market, consumption and non-alcoholic beer competition. Procedures of the production of non-alcoholic beer can be divided into modifications of the procedures, into the procedures with special brewing yeast and other micro - organisms and into production technologies consisting of removing the ethanol from beer.
Comparison of traditional beer production with modern technologies

Presented Bachelor thesis was focused on comparison of traditional beer production with modern technologies. From comprehensive theory of beer brewing technology was the main point of the work devoted to brewer´s yeast and beer fermentation process, which has made the greatest progress during the development of beer production technology. Chapter about brewer´s yeast is dealing with their taxonomy, morfology and cytology, structure, reproduction and types of yeast, bottom and top fermenting yeast. Brewer´s yeast collection and stress factors of the yeast are mentioned in the work. The crucial chapter about wort fermentation is talking about main fermentation process with indication of the factors influencing the fermentation and used technologies. Next parts of the chapter are dealing with aging of the beer and beer maturation and fermentation and aging in large containers with more specifications of beer production in cylindrical-conical tanks (CCT).
The Using Logistics in a Manufacturing Company

This bachelor thesis deals with using logistics in the brewery Městský pivovar PLATAN s. r. o. It reports on the present state of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consumption in the Czech Republic. The consumption of non-alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic beer has a significantly increasing trend. The largest part of alcoholic drink consumption in the Czech Republic is beer. The strategy of the brewery Platan is presented. The strategy should lead to maintain the sale position the company has reached. An analysis of competitive environment was performed for the investigation of market position of the company Platan. The study describes the material flow and information flow in the company as well. The material flow was described in terms of inputs, production, outputs and reverse logistics. The results of this study show that the gastronomy sphere customers have the widest requirements. Based on the questionnaire investigation, the standards in providing brewing services were compiled. Finally, the distribution services was examined and the possibility of using own transportation when compared to the outside forwarding agent services was explored.
