Importance of environmental elements (water environment and greenery) in urbanized areas of the Czech Republic

The aim of the dissertation is to provide an analytical comparison of the effectiveness of using of the environmental potential of watercourses and greenery in urbanized areas/cities of the Czech Republic (ČR). The work is divided into a part of physical-geographical and sociological assessment and research. The physical-geographical analysis will provide the results of watercourse use in the city using the Urban River Sustainability Index (URSI) and watercourse availability analysis. In the area of eva-luation of cities in terms of greenery, the results are obtained through the calculation of the Indicator of the General Quality of Greenery in Cities (IOKZM) based on the Coefficient of Ecological Stability (KES) and the evaluation of the share of greenery in cities. Sociological research provides the user's opinion on the positive environmental contribution of the watercourse in specific urbanized areas, based on the results of quantitative and qualitative research. This section is statistically evaluated using logistic regression (LR) and multivariate correspondence analysis (CA). The overall results of the work create an overal image of the importance of environmental elements (water environment and greenery) in urbanized areas of the Czech Republic. They draw attention to the current state of Czech cities and suggest possible improving solutions not only for their changing climatic situation.

Zhodnocení účinnosti srážení fosforu na přítoku do nádrže Plumlov

This bachelor's thesis on the topic "Evaluation of the efficiency of phosphorus reduction at the inflow to the Plumlov reservoir" is processed as a literature and research with subsequent processing of the results obtained from field measurements. In the first part, it focuses on introducing the reader to the issue of eutrophication, water pollution or how works and what affects the chemistry of water. In the practical part, it deals with the issue of phosphorus precipitation in water flow. This system is implemented by Povodí Moravy, s.p. and the task of the work was to regularly monitor for one calendar year the development of the phosphorus content, during its constant precipitation. The results of the measurements were shown graphically, and illustrative maps are also attached, giving the reader a closer look at the location of the water course within the Czech Republic.

Změny kvality vody v toku vlivem přítoku odpadů z koňské farmy

The bachelor thesis focuses on monitoring changes in the quality of the Všeminka stream due to the impact of waste inflow from the Všemina Horse Ranch. A total of six sampling sites were identified and located along the length of the stream so that the first location was above the ranch and the last was below the Všemina reservoir. Sampling was conducted four times over a thirteen-month period during the growing season. During the sampling events, pH, dissolved oxygen concentration, conductivity, water temperature, and, for the reservoir, water transparency was determined on site. The samples were immediately taken for evaluation to the laboratory of the Department of Fisheries and Hydrobiology at Mendel University in Brno. Physico-chemical parameters such as total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, total phosphorus, orthophosphates, total iron, chemical oxygen demand by dichromate, biochemical oxygen demand-five-day, acid neutralization capacity, calcium and chloride were selected for subsequent analysis. The objective was to determine if the ranch has an effect on water quality in the stream or the Všemina Reservoir. The resulting values from the laboratory analysis were evaluated according to the standard CSN 75 7221 used to classify the quality of surface waters as well as according to Government Regulation 401/2015, whether the quality of the water meets the requirements for general water use, for salmon and carp waters. Furthermore, it was compared with similar research works on the given topic of the influence of horse breeding on water quality.

Vyhodnocení revitalizačních opatření na vybraných úsecích toku Šatava

The presented bachelor's thesis summarizes three studies of revitalization precautions on the Šatava river and compares and evaluates the concept of precautions or specific suggestions for precautions in selected sub-sections in more detail. The thesis includes a literature search and an overview of the legislation, a detailed description of the area including the calculated basic characteristics of the Šatava basin, an evaluation of the current state of the area based on a field survey, an overview of the possibilities of financing revitalization from subsidies and the results of a questionnaire survey, the aim of which was to find out whether the municipalities from the selected section are informed about three studies, whether they agree with the presented precautions, or whether they have their own projects for the revitalization of the Šatava river.

Reconstruction of the inlet channel to the turbine

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is designing the reconstruction of the watercourse leading to the mill complex in the Bohumileč village in Northern Bohemia. A proposal for a new safety weir has been developed on the watercourse, connecting to the existing dam with its original weir in an unsatisfactory state. A diagnostic survey and assessment of the original reinforced concrete channel in the former mill building, which has been supplying water to the water turbine since 1914, have been conducted.

River revitalization

The Kyjovka River was negatively impacted in previous years as a consequence of erroneous technical alterations. The town of Kyjov, situated along the river, aims to integrate the watercourse into the landscape and improve its capacity. The site under consideration is located within the urban district of Boršov, where the town acquired multiple parcels of land for the purpose of revitalizing the watercourse. To ensure the revitalization of the watercourse, a comprehensive description and hydraulic assessment of its current condition were conducted. The results served as the basis for formulating multiple alternative solutions.

Zpracování návrhu revitalizační studie pro malý vodní tok

This diploma thesis is focused on stream restoration. In the literature review is described why the need of this discipline arose, its evolution, objectives and effects. Then particular measures within restoration are characterized, also documents needed for the restoration project and possible sources of funding are described. The practical part of this thesis deals with the restoration design of a small watercourse - Měkynecký stream. First, information about the watershed of this stream are compiled. Local hydrological, climate, pedological, geological and geomorphological conditions are analyzed, as well as land use and the system of ecological stability. The soil erosion risk and the riparian vegetation are also assessed. Next, the watercourse is divided into homogeneous parts, which are described in detail. Then comes the design part of the thesis, which contains the restoration design itself. It includes the design of a new stream bed route and its cross sections, also the design of new pools and the riparian vegetation. A solution to the high rate of soil erosion is also comprised.

Možnosti revitalizace vodních toků v zemědělské krajině

This thesis solves the revitalization of water courses in the agricultural landscape. The scope was to create a concept for the design of revitalization of watercourses in the model area and develop the proposed details at the level of a feasibility study. Prior to the start of the design, the primary, secondary, and tertiary landscape structure was prepared for the model area. Furthermore, the values and problems of the area were evaluated. All the mentioned items were based on field surveys, which began in the autumn of 2018. Based on the information obtained from the literature research, the field survey and analysis of the area, the concept of revitalization of watercourses was created. The concept consists in a comprehensive design of the entire selected area and works with streamlines, riparian vegetation, the immediate vicinity of watercourses and agricultural land.

Zpracování studie revitalizace malého vodního toku - Náhlovský potok

This master thesis deals with issues related to the revitalization of small watercourses. The Náhlovský stream basin was chosen for the flow study. The aim of the study is to improve water conditions in the locality and increase ecological stability. This paper is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part includes concepts associated with the adjustment of watercourses, the history of revitalization stages. Current funding options are also included. The empirical part contains the characteristics of the catchment area and the proposal of revitalization of the watercourse.
