Foundations in Volume Unstable Soils
Legut, Dana ; Weiglová, Kamila (referee) ; Hauser,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Zdražil, Karel (referee) ; Vašina,, Josef (referee) ; Paseka, Antonín (advisor)
This dissertation is concerned with the foundations in volume unstable soils and objects disorders which are related to this. The thesis was focused on the study of clay and loess soils which are abundant in the geological profile of the Czech Republic. First, the formation of the two groups of soils is introduced, then their properties are examined and finally the influence of vegetation on the former type and the influence of collapsibility in the latter type are investigated. The conclusion is, in fact, a recommendation on the design of structures so that the system of clay / structure is not damaged and that structures are not subject to renovations. Several instance of problems with structures are discussed which were subject to structural repairs employing both a civil and geotechnical engineers.
Intensive City House
Murínová, Lenka ; Zadražilová, Miroslava (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor)
The topic of diploma thesis is to design a "city house", in a form of the intensive urban structure, using the area with the greatest efficiency in terms of housing, services and jobs on a relatively small area. The main function of the new complex is housing supplemented by services, as well as, leisure and education facilities. The art school, the gallery, the office space and other facilities serve not only the residents of the "intensive house", but also the rest of the public, with the possibility of getting new jobs at an accessible distance, which is the main task of an intensive structure. The aim is to create a multifunctional urban building that revitalizes the inefficiently used area and at the same time brings green spaces designed for relaxation that are missing in this area.
River trainning - The Luha River in Jesenik upon Odra
Tkáč, Matěj ; Tureček, Břetislav (referee) ; Julínek, Tomáš (advisor)
The object of this Master`s thesis is the river training of the Luha river in Jeseník nad Odrou. The thesis is divided into several chapters. In the theoretical introduction, the problems of the sediment flow regime are discussed. Moreover, it deals with the questions associated with the roughness in open channels and adjustment of riparian zones. As a part of the overall proposal of the flow adjustment, the hydraulically most suitable cross section in cunette is proposed. It is done with respect to the desired velocity ratios in the profile. Since the new cunette shape was established, the adjustment of vertical alignment was proposed. The thesis also contains the capacity assessment of the existing channel. Design of adjustment of flood protection measures includes mainly spatial rearrangement and increase the crest of levees with respect to the local conditions. The thesis also suggests the placement of vegetation in the riparian zones. Furhermore, the work deals with problems arising from the flow adjustment considering applicable laws and regulations of the Czech Republic. In the case of project implementation, it is necessary to evaluate these problems independently.
Flóra a vegetace nevyužívaných brněnských areálů uvažovaných pro parkové úpravy
Bartoš, Marcel
In this diploma thesis I deal with the research of the flora and vegetation of three unused areas of Brno, in which will or may be built city parks in the future. These areas are Planýrka, the area of the former Hády tailings pond (Hapal's Park) and the location where Houbalova Park will be built. The aim by field research was to record the species of plants, document the vegetation of the defined areas and describe and characterize these areas based on the data obtained. The data was mainly obtained by floristic survey, recording phytocenological relevés, photographing vegetation using a drone and, last but not least, a detailed literature search of the natural conditions of the defined areas, botanical resources and databases, but also research on the use of the areas in the past, present and also in the future. A partial aim was to create a map of actual vegetation of the studied areas. In the field, I recorded a total of 26 phytocenological relevés representing mainly ruderal, scrub and grass vegetation and their combinations. In total, I found 389 taxa of vascular plants, of which 27 are endangered (4 protected by law) and 26 are invasive. The work also includes a documentary herbarium of selected taxa which is stored in the BRNU. Other floristic survey data are published in the iNaturalist application (NDOP) and recorded relevés are stored in the ČNFD.
Návrh managementu jímacího území vodního zdroje Nová Ves u Pohořelic
Ohryzek, Dominik
The quality of the water in source Nová Ves near Pohořelice was degraded by an above-limit nitrate concentration, which caused complications with use of the water for drinking purposes. The causes of this pollution have not been fully confirmed, one of the possible factors is increased mineralisation of humus substances in the soil (Leugner et al. 2021) after deforestation of spruce and pine stands. These died gradually during the drought and bark beetle calamity in 2015 and the following years. The presented thesis propose management principles of site with respect to the water management needs of the resource owner. There were proposed phytoremediation techniques using tree species grown in a coppice manner. Management is also focused on the care of remaining vegetation in the area, where close to nature species composition prevails.
Vyhodnocení revitalizačních opatření na vybraných úsecích toku Šatava
Hladíková, Leona
The presented bachelor's thesis summarizes three studies of revitalization precautions on the Šatava river and compares and evaluates the concept of precautions or specific suggestions for precautions in selected sub-sections in more detail. The thesis includes a literature search and an overview of the legislation, a detailed description of the area including the calculated basic characteristics of the Šatava basin, an evaluation of the current state of the area based on a field survey, an overview of the possibilities of financing revitalization from subsidies and the results of a questionnaire survey, the aim of which was to find out whether the municipalities from the selected section are informed about three studies, whether they agree with the presented precautions, or whether they have their own projects for the revitalization of the Šatava river.
How the plants influence our atmosphere - project based education for the basic school
JANEBOVÁ, Klára
The aim of my theses was to create an educational project for students of elementary schools on the topic of how plants affect our atmosphere. The suggested project base on the project teaching comprises of four issues: reducing the heat with vegetation, isopreniods and atmosphere, dust particles and vegetation, and carbon dioxide - vegetation - atmosphere. The project was verified in lessons of three elementary schools in South Bohemia with a hundred students of 9th class within the time period of March and April 2023. Teaching of botany at elementary schools focuses mainly on photosynthesis and morphology of plants; little attention is paid to the relation between plants and the atmosphere. The project is designed to demonstrate some areas of the relation plants-atmosphere, and to reveal the importance of vegetation for human beings. The effectivity of the educational project was verified in didactic survey. A pre-test was conducted before the activity itself and a post-test followed it with a one week delay. Collected data was then processed, evaluated and transformed into tables and charts. The data reveal that the suggested activity resulted in higher success rate in tests and increased the understanding of the effect of vegetation on the atmosphere.

The second part contains a description of an experimental experiment in the cultivation of peppers with subsequent measurement and evaluation of yield indicators. The results obtained during the experiment were tabulated and explained. The final part of the thesis is devoted to the discussion of the results and comparison with the results from previous years.
Long term dynamic of vegetation succession on post-mining sites.
Skalníková, Andrea ; Mudrák, Ondřej (advisor) ; Janíková, Eva (referee)
Spontaneous succession of vegetation can be one of the restoration approaches of disturbed sites after coal mining. It is therefore important to know the course of successional changes and whether it can be replicated. The spontaneous succession of vegetation on disturbed sites is usually based on monitoring of multiple sites of a different stage of succession. By their comparison the course of the succession over time is inferred. This approach of the study is called chronosequence (space-for-time substitution). Another option is to repeat monitoring of permanent plots, but it requires a long period of time to observe successional changes. Rarely are these approaches combined. In this thesis, I analyse the main trends in the succession of plant communities and their plants functional traits on five localities of various age during the 15 years. I have examined whether the localities follow similar successional trends. Data (plant coverage) were collected by annual resampling of 50 (ten per locality) permanent plots of 5 m x 5 m since 2007. By performing a multivariate CCA analysis, we analysed the species composition of the plant community, and by performing an RDA analysis, we analysed the changes in weighted averages of plant functional traits. In both cases, the localities and their...
