The European Union from the perspective of a citizen of the Czech Republic

The European Union has had a big impact in citizens' lives of the Czech Republic since 2004 when it joined the EU. The bachelor's thesis focuses on the founding and expansion of the European Union, the accession if the Czech Republic and advantages and disadvantages of European Union membership for Czech citizens. In the bachelor thesis there is carried out an extensive analysis of individual programming periods and benefits of subsidies from EU funds. The aim is to determine the attitude of Czech citizens towards the EU and their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with EU membership. The results of this evaluation are detected by a survey and used for organizations which inform the public about EU for example Europe Direct Information Centre.

The causes of insufficient use of EU funds in Slovakia during the 2007-2013 programming period

The presented thesis The causes of insufficient use of EU funds in Slovakia during the 2007- 2013 programming period addresses a system of utilisation of the EU funds in Slovakia which were provided by the European Union's Cohesion Policy in 2007-2013 programming period. The period is the first Cohesion Policy's programming period that could be fully benefited by Slovakia, and although Slovakia was economically highly evaluated even with regards to the economic crisis, at the end of the period the exceptional prolongation of the n+2 rule was demanded, and eventually approved. Therefore, the aim of the thesis is to find and explore possible causes of the lack of benefit of the EU funds that lead to obtaining the exception. The first part of the thesis analyses the theory of regional policy which provides multiple possible alternative hypotheses that answers to the research question. These potential answers constitute the chapters in the second part of the thesis: the responsibility of the utilisation on the regional level, the problems in settings and functioning of the bodies on national level, the external factors impact, and finally the rules posed by the EU. Convergence of the Czech Republic to the European Union

This thesis deals with an analysis of the convergence of the Czech Republic to the first fifteen member states of the European Union. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate different types of resources that are available for the Czech Republic from the European Union and if and to what extent the development levels of the Czech Republic and the EU 15 countries come closer. The first part of this thesis describes resources provided by the European Union to its member states and funds used to their allocation. The second part focuses on drawing of these resources by the Czech Republic. Specifically, the amount of resources allocated to the Czech Republic is described and the ability of the Czech Republic to use them is analyzed. The third part, core of this work, concentrates on an analysis of several fundamental development indicators. Main indicators of both nominal and real convergence are evaluated, as well as the Human Development Index. These indicators are applied on both the Czech Republic and the EU 15 countries, they are compared and the level of the convergence between the two units is evaluated. Cross-border coopertion of the Moravian-Silesian Region

The topic of this diploma thesis is cross-border cooperation of the Moravian-Silesian region. It contains a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on regional development and regional policy, including the financing of development strategies. Furthermore, it covers the topic of cross-border cooperation and the characteristics of the Moravian-Silesian region. The practical part is focused on the investment project Hraniční vrch Lookout Tower located in the town of Albrechtice. This project was created in the framework of cross-border cooperation with Poland. Using the knowledge from the theoretical part, the outcome is processed as the evaluation of the impact of cross-border cooperation project on the development of the region in relation to tourism.

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of drawing funds from European Union in village Jiříkovice. The first part describes theoretical knowledge about the municipality and drawing subsidies from EU funds. The second part deals with the analysis of subsidies in village Jiříkovice including past and current programming period with the evaluation of the success in already implemented projects. Based on a structured interview with the mayor of the municipality, analysis of the external and internal environment and quantitative research is proposed recommendation including grant title for further development of the municipality in the current programming period 2014-2020.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of drawing subsidies from the European Union. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part describes the basic information that is necessary for orientation in the field. Main part of the thesis deals with analysis of support of wood sector. In the second part of my work is proposed the possibility of drawing from the operational program. In this context, there is written up the business plan that is necessary for the application. In conclusion, there are discussed results and recommendations.

Cross-border cooperation of the South Moravian Region

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of cross-border cooperation of the South Moravian Region. The theoretical part deals with the definition of terms such as region, regional economics, regional policy, and regional development. It also deals with the regional structure of the Czech Republic, NUTS regions or regional policy institutions. The last chapters of the theoretical part are devoted to the possibilities of financing development strategies and cross-border cooperation. The following is a part of the description of standard-specific research called Real estate market analysis in cross-border regions and the designation FAST-S-19-5899 based on which the topic of this work was selected. In the practical part, it characterizes the South Moravian Region and the village Mikulčice specifically described the selected project and its financing. The conclusion is a theoretical proposal of other financing options and an evaluation of the impact that the project has on the development of the region.

Possibilities of Drawing Subsidies from the EU and Use of Funds in the Ústí nad Labem Region

This work deals with analyzing the use of EU funds during the individual programming periods and elaborates an evaluation of their effectiveness with respect to the set indicators in the operational programs of the Ústí nad Labem Region and specifically the towns of Louny. The thesis uses historical analytical methods, logical methods and comparative methods using statistical data analysis. It also deals with the description of the utilization of subsidies from the subsidy programs of the town of Louny and the success of these subsidy programs. The aim of the work is to evaluate the current state and success of the subsidy processes of the city of Louny, and to propose possible improvements and insights into the issue of grant cases occurring in the Ústí nad Labem Region.

This diploma thesis deals with the assessment of the subsidy possibilities of the selected company. The subsidy opportunities of the company will be evaluated with respect to the expected development of the company and the current subsidy conditions in the 2014-2020 programming period. Part of the topic is also an overview of operational programs and European subsidies. The characteristics of the selected enterprise were assessed, its specifics and its specific needs assessed. Subsequently an analysis of the investment policy and the current conditions of the operating subsidies was carried out. Based on this analysis, a specific project was funded through EU funds. Finally, an application for a grant was prepared for a specific operational program.

Use of funds from the EU founds and public budgets for the playground building and reconstruction in the South Bohemia Region

The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the use of funds from EU funds and public budgets drawn on the construction and reconstruction of playgrounds in the South Bohemian Region in the period 2007-2013. Evaluate how effectively EU funds were used and what impact they had on the development of municipalities in the South Bohemian region. The project describes the realized projects aimed at the construction and reconstruction of playgrounds in the South Bohemian Region. A secondary analysis of the data of realized projects and a comparative analysis of the use of funds from EU funds and public budgets are carried out. The drawing of funds for the construction and reconstruction of children's playgrounds in the South Bohemian Region in 2007-13 with the strategic goals of the South Bohemian Region for 2007-2013 is evaluated. At the end of the thesis there are mentioned recommendations for more efficient use of funds for the construction and reconstruction of playgrounds in the South Bohemian Region in 2014-2020.
