The Image of an Aristocrat in the Chroniclar Production of the 14th Century.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to compare the image of an aristocrat in the chronicles of the 14th century as well as its dependence on the conrete author of the particular chronicle. It observes how the goal of the chronicler and the recipient himself influence the perspective on the aristocrat and the appraisal of his person.
The character of Přemysl Otakar II. in Czech chronicles - history and literary fiction

The thesis The Character of Přemysl Otakar II. in Czech Chronicles History and Literary Fiction is analysing, as the name suggests, the image of Přemysl Otakar II. in chronicles. For this purpose, writings from the High and Late Middle Ages were selected; they are Kronika tak řečeného Dalimila, Zbraslavská kronika of abbot Ota and Petr Žitavský, Kronika of František Pražský, Kronika česká of Přibík Pulkava z Radenína, Kronika česká of Jan Marignola and Stručné sepsání římské a české from Neplach. From the period of humanism chosen writings are Historie česká of Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini and Kronika česká of Václav Hájek z Libočan. The first task of this thesis is not only to interpret the subjective attitude of each historian, but also to compare their opinions with each other, taking into account the period in which the writings were created. Another aim of the thesis is to capture the similarities and differences in interpretations of selected stories of medieval and humanistic chroniclers and also their comparison with the views of contemporary historians.
The Chronicles of Burghers from České Budějovice Jan Jiří Millauer and Jan Eichler and His Son Jan Antonín Eichler from the Second Half of 18th Century and Their Mutual Comparison

The thesis entitled The Chronicles of Burghers from České Budějovice Jan Jiří Millauer and Jan Eichler and His Son Jan Antonín Eichler from the Second Half of 18th Century and Their Mutual Comparison is divided into four chapters. The first one is devoted to the chronicle of Jan Jiří Millauer and is divided into several other parts, which describe externals of this manuscript, present the content of the book in detail and characterize the person of writer or recorder Jan Jiří Millauer. The first chapter is also devoted to issues of filiation of the chronicle, reasons of its emergence and its further history. The second chapter is also divided into several parts, which are devoted to the same issues as the first chapter, but this time in the context of the chronicle of Jan Eichler and his son Jan Antonín Eichler. Records from both chronicles are closely compared in the third chapter. The last chapter presents an attempt to compare records with each other extant chronicle of burghers from České Budějovice from the early modern period, especially to compare them with chronicles from the second half of 18th century. The thesis includes a list of references and sources and in the appendix of the thesis there are the editorial note, the scientific editions of the Chronicle of Jan Jiří Millauer and of the Chronicle of Jan Eichler and his son Jan Antonín Eichler, the local index and writing samples of the edited chronicles.
Versions of the legend about Oldřich and Božena in Czech chronicles

The objective of the thesis is to compare the various forms of rumors about Oldřich and Božena in selected Czech chronicles. The primary focus is the transformation of the legend in the Kosmas Chronicle, the so-called Dalimil Chronicle, and the popular Czech Chronicle of Václav Hájek of Libočany. We will also try to further highlight certain themes in relation to the given community and the culturally historical environment. Finally, we will compare the individual data from the rumors with documented historical facts, and we will also highlight speculations that arose around the rumors.
The Commemorative Books of Volyně´s vicarage in 17th - 19th century

The Diploma´s thesis The Commemorative Books of Volyně´s vicarage in 17th - 19th century deals with parish chronicles survived in this administrative district. Its endeavour is to describe and characterize them and its aim is to consider and present them from different points of view. The thesis is divided up into seven chapters. The very first of them appraise state of research passed off up to now and introduces related literature created so far. The second one brings basic information concerning church administration in the Czech Countries from the very beginning up to the establishment of vicarage system. The third chapter deals with history of Volyně´s vicarage and presents some of issues, of which resolution this administrative office was in charge. The third chapter describes orders for keeping parish chronicles. The fourth chapter describes all commemorative books survived in the administrative district. Inside and outside description of all the chronicles is introduced in this chapter, as well as determination of particular authors. On the basis of the sources acquired I endeavoured to describe common features of individual parish chronicles, to compare them with municipal chronicles and submit some of the potential ways of usage of commemorative books of parish office in the field of historical research as well. The very last chapter recapitulates and summarizes the acquired finding. Other potential ways and methods of progress which may be used are highlighted and pointed out here. At the end of the thesis, there is a list of literature and attachments which are composed of charts filled in with authors of records of particular parish chronicles. All the researched and examined parish chronicles are summarized in the attachments as well. Beside the charts, there are also plenty of photographs which depict all the researched parish chronicles, examples of manuscript or interesting pictures from several commemorative books.
Chronicle of the Citizen Adrian Adalbert Battista (1463-1656)

The Bachelor's thesis Chronicle of the Citizen Adrian Adalbert Battista (1463-1656) from České Budějovice is focused on comparison of Battista's chronicle with other preserved chronicles of citizens from České Budějovice from the Early Modern Period. Part of the thesis is the list of references and sources and its appendix includes the scientific edition of Battista's Chronicle, the name and the local index, Battista's handwriting samples and the chart containing basic information about chronicles. The work is divided into three chapters. The first deals with city chronicles in the Early Modern Period. In the second, compilative one, all preserved chronicles of citizens of České Budějovice from the Early Modern Period with characteristic of particular chroniclers are briefly presented whereas more space is devoted to preserved chronicles. The third chapter is devoted to content of Battista's Chronicle, to analysis of the chronicle as historical source and to comparison of Battista's Chronicle with others chronicles of citizens from České Budějovice. A possibility of its use for further study is suggested in the end of the thesis.
Memorial books of the parish of Němčice 1759-1939

The aim of the bachelor thesis "Memorial books of the parish of Němčice 1759-1939" is to present the topic of parish memorial books. The thesis watches an example of two sources of this kind that originated from the work of the Parish office of Němčice (near Netolice) in connection with history of the village and of the local clerical administration. That?s why the first chapter introduces the history of Němčice since the first written mention until present and the second chapter describes the development of the local parish and of the parish church of Saint Nicholas in Němčice, too. The centre of the work is the third chapter which presents both memorial books of the parish of Němčice. The first book contains records from years 1759-1783 (or 1796) and the second one was written in a period since 1836 probably until 1939 (with an inscription from 1948). The chapter deals with an external and internal description of both memorial books, the context of their foundation, characteristics of individual chroniclers and an analysis of their records. The conclusion of the thesis summarizes the development and significance of parish memorial books and suggests their possible use for a historical research. The work also contains several supplements, especially an edition of the older memorial book of Němčice, samples of writings of chroniclers as well as tables, maps and photographs.

The Bachelor`s thesis The Commemorative Book of Malenice`s Rectory Office (1735 ? 1945) deals with two parish chronicles. Its endeavour is to describe and characterize them and it also considers usage of this type of source in the field of historical research. The thesis is divided up into seven chapters.The first one introduces and appreciates literature and other potential sources related to the theme. The second one brings basic information about Malenice. The third one acquaints with Malenice`s history ? from the time of the first prehistoric discoveries until now. In the following chapter we can find description of the chronicle and determination of its authors as well. The fourth part focuses on the rectory office`s history and development. The last but one chapter brings division and characteristics of records in the chronicle. The last part is concerned with a possibility of usage of parish chronicles in scientific work and their comparison with municipal ones. There is a list of literature used and supplements at the end of the thesis. The supplements are composed by photographs and tables.

This work wants to assess a progress of the fiveth crusade in a chronicles of the Middle Ages and an early modern period. This crusade was against a Hussites in 1431. There is a recapitulation of czech historians of the 20th Century in a prologue. The main sources of this work are a chronicles from the 15th Century till the 17th Century. One of chapters is about a names of soldier of booth armies. The main intention of this work is to confirm or to rebut the {\clqq}Battle of Domažlice``.
The development of local chronicle writing in Ledenice

The Bachelor´s work sets the task to introduce the development of local chronicle writing in Ledenice, a small town near České Budějovice, from its beginning in 1885 to the present. The work is split up to four basic chapters. It contains an extensive list of the literature and sources as well as the supplements with synoptic tables and samples of the single chroniclers´ handwritings. The first chapter is about the general history of the Czech chronicle writing, which was formed in the Middle Ages and made the complicated way till the 19th century. The number of special chronicles (urban, country, club, clan) gradually appeared. The development from the 19th century is recorded only in the local chronicle writing liable to the adjustmen according to changs in the regime in the 20th centruy. The consequence of statutory rules on the chroniclers work in 20th century, their observance, if you like lawbreaking but also for example the problems with the appointment chroniclers or with the acceptance of annual records are in the next chapter which resumes the history of chronicle writing in Ledenice. The short enumaration at the end this chapter represents the other chronicles of institutions, offices and clubs in Ledenice. The third chapter includes description of chronicles, analysis of their records and critique of their form and content. The last chapter represents various family and vocational lives of the Ledenice chroniclers. In the end there is the evaluation of the all knowledge, the presentation of local chronicle like the valuable historical source and a concise possibilities of its use the further research in these problems.
