Generic use of articles in French This Diploma thesis deals with the generic use of articles in the French language. It is divided into the theoretical and the experimental part. After the broader introduction into the issue of determinants, the most important part of the work treats genericity expressed in French by the definite article in singular and plural as well as by the indefinite article in singular. Firstly, the existing research on the subject of generic articles is studied, including the presentation of various approaches and principal theories, then is formulated proper syntactic and semantic interpretation of genericity which is finally verified in the experimental part of the thesis based on the analysis of model sentences. Topic-focus articulation in newspaper and news server

The diploma thesis is focused on an analysis of the first sentences of newspaper articles namely from an aspect of the topic-focus articulation, which is expressed in Czech primarily by word order. The word order depending on the increasing communicative dynamism of words in the sentence might be changed from an objective word order if new information follows known or before mentioned information into subjective word order resulting in a reverse order. E.g.: The CEZ group showed record profit of 52 milliard CZK last year, a reverse word order: (literal translation) Record profit (Obj) of 52 milliard CZK the CEZ group(Subj) showed last year. In our thesis, we describe the above mentioned changes and we determine sets of cases comprising the modifications and we attempt to specify kinds of rules and principles resulting in different word orders. The sentence in the case of the subjective word order begins with an object, an adverbial of time, place, or condition. Anyway, not always a sentence constituent at the beginning of the sentence indicates the subjective word order. A significant role in the analysis is played by head- lines, which affect considerably the result. We focus ou attention on sentences expressing a placement on the scene. The Absence of Determiners in the Nominal Phrase of the present-day French

The first aim of this work is to describe the issues of nominal syntagma as well as the absence of determinant that is connected to it. The other goal is to examine one type of this absence in a journalistic corpus L´Est Républicain. The analysis in this corpus will evaluate the frequency, the semantics and the syntactic functions of the chosen phenomenon in journalistic context. The work is divided into two parts: the theoretical and the practical one. In the first part, all the terms connected to the nominal syntagma will be defined. The nominal syntagma along with its nature and its parts will be described. At the same time, the cases of the absence of determinant in present-day French will be explained. The second part contains quantitative and qualitative analysis in the corpus L´Est Républicain. Subject of research are juxtaposed and coordinative enumerations in a different extent and in the different syntactic positions.

The bachelor diploma thesis is focused on the constructional technology of the solar modules as well as on the problems of the induced degradation under the influence of the potential. It specifies the key issues and possible elements that influence the effect of environment with regard to possible causes of the origin of degeneration. The thesis includes the description of measuring of the polycrystalline and monocrystalline technologies that are resistant to the leading potential. Bachelor's thesis on the theme self learning system deal with problems self learning both in term of theoretic and practical. It explains principles of the human teaching and its efficient exploitation with the view to achievement better results with less exertion studying. Substantial part of bachelor's thesis is algorithm design respecting theoretic piece of knowledge and suitable for computer program fuelling self learning and practical implementation of web application containing articles, textbooks, chaps and cards from which student is able to set a test. Principle of application is based on self classification of student. Questions in test are iterative according to time and self classification. Application can help for quicker and superior mastered to learning.

Use and meaning of articles with personal proper nouns in italian (a corpus analysis)

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the studying of the use and the meaning of the articles joined with the proper names of persons in italian language. The thesis has two parts the theoretical one and the empirical one. In the theoretical part the article and its forms are defined, also the rules for the use of the article before proper names of persons including exceptions. The empirical part is mostly concerned with the rules of using the definite article. Besides number of occurrence of the aplication the rule and its examples there are mentioned also examples of its breaking. In the chapter dealing with indefinite article several examples are joined with every rule. All the rules are verified with aid of text corpus itWaC.

The elite of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia on the pages of Rudé právo in 50s´ of 20th century .

This diploma thesis deals with a detailed analysis of the daily Rudé právo in 1951 - 1960. It is focused in detail on leading representatives of the Communist Party and their impact on the situation in the former Czechoslovakia in ´50s, as well as on significant events in this period. The work will consist in comparing the real facts and distorted facts about personalities and events of that time as they were presented by Rudé právo as the propaganda newspaper of the Communist Party. The main aim of the thesis is to make a reader aware of the impartiality of Rudé právo which played a dominant role in the former media scene and greatly influenced the general public who did not have the opportunity to compare information with other news. It is important as well to the reader understand how powerful the media had already been that time, when Rudé právo was able to significantly support a cult of personality mainly around Klement Gottwald and J. V. Stalin, when a reader had no opportunity to gain any information than what the governance of communist Czechoslovakia wanted to. Besides the already mentioned cults of personalities the work will deal with propaganda of communism, the Soviet Union and the anti-Americanism which was propagated mainly between 1950 - 1953 in almost every issue of the newspaper. After reading this thesis, the reader should understand the content of Rudé právo and its importance. He should realize that the main aim was to arouse belief of the citizens of Czechoslovakia that "Western world", especially the United States, is an enemy that wants to control the whole world and that its leaders are the aggressors and the enemies of peace. The Soviet Union and its leaders should then be the protection against so-called warmongers from the USA. Due to then lack of information it was very difficult for an average working Czechoslovak reader to know that the reality was quite the opposite.

Category of Determination: Translation strategy of Spanish administrative-and-law texts into Czech.

The main theme of this thesis is the category of determination in the Spanish language. Considering that this category is very large in spanish language we have focused in detail on the article, especially the indefinite article. This work is devided into two parts, the theoretic and the practical part. The theoretic part has been devoted to definitions and main characterization of the article, primarily the indefinite article. This issue is looked upon from the point of different publications that discuss it more or less thoroughly. Considering that the category of determination itself does not exist in the Czech language we briefly draw other mediums to express this phenomenon, especially the word order. For the practical part the qualitative methods were used.In this part the use of determinants was analyzed in administrative and legal texts, specifically in two texts from the web page www.Eur-Lex.eu, in one text from Boletín Oficial del Estado and in one law of the Czech Ministry of Education.

Functions of French articles as a part of the text in comparison with the means of Czech language

The aim of this work is to analyse functions of French articles as a part of the text in comparison with the means of Czech language. The theoretical part defines determinants as a word class in French language as well as its function in conjunction with nominal group, ways of linking in the text and structure of the text. All of this is based on the works of French and Czech authors concerned in the question of articles. The comparative part was done on the text accessible in both languages. The texts were analysed in the same way and then they studied all the questions from the theoretical part i.e. functions of the article in the text and its language means in Czech. The results were put into two tables. First table presents Czech equivalents of nominal group. Second table presents Czech equivalents of the way of linking in the text.
