Rekonstrukce lesních ekosystémů v KRNAP (dynamika vývoje lesa a analýza možností a limitujících faktorů pro rekonstrukci horských lesů): ICP Forest
VÚLHM, Jíloviště Strnady ; Správa Krkonošského národního parku, Vrchlabí ; Uhlířová, Hana
Zpráva obsahuje přehled průběhu prací a dosažených výsledků měření depozic, půdní gravitační vody, hodnocení zdravotního stavu porostů a vyhodnocení půdních analýz na vybrané ploše.
Vegetation inside the "Bohemian Forest" exhibition of the zoo Ohrada
FIALOVÁ, Alexandra
The first, theoretical part of my thesis is devoted to the history of zoological gardens, development of forests in the Czech Republic and forest ecosystems, simulated in the analyzed "Český les" exhibit of the Zoo Ohrada in Hluboká nad Vltavou. The exhibit is divided into sections, each representing a certain forest habitat. For each habitat I carried out a phytocenological relevé and calculated total cover, abundance and sociability values. I then compared these characteristics with the natural habitats of the zoo animals, especially in terms of their requirements and utilization. I proposed modifications aiming to increase attractiveness as well as information for visitors.
Estimate of available nutrients in forest soil after bark beetle outbreak of stands after salvage logging and of stands left without intervention in the Šumava National park
DRÁBKOVÁ, Marie
The aim of this study is to estimate and compare the amount of available nutrients in forest soil of stands where the salvage logging took place after the dieback of the forest caused by bark beetle outbreak and of stands left without any intervention in protected areas in Šumava National Park. The study also focus on the influence of the vegetation cover and decaying wood on the soil chemistry, especially on the cationt exchange capacity, base cationts and aluminium contents. Preliminary results and proposal of future research are given.
Vertical motives of landscape
HORYNOVÁ, Alžběta
This final work is practically oriented. It consists of painting series of eight landscapes with vertical themes. These are large format oil paintings. In the theoretical part I deal with the current perception of the relationship between man and land, which is based on the current concepts of landscape-painting. The examples of contemporary Czech landscape show some topics that have appeared in the last forty years. For example it is a landscape as a specific interface and abstract paintings, a landscape inside us, a landscape of our civilization. The thesis also discusses vertical motif, which marks the space between the two main elements of the landscape ? the sky and land, which is a fundamental area of human existence.
Small-scale forest units and their usage for town side recreation
ZIEGLER, Tomáš
This thesis is dealing with town side recreation. Natural environment, with forest as a dominating factor, is very important in this issue. Forests attract their visitors thanks to specific atmosphere and mostly they don{\crq}t need any additional equipment to fulfill their purpose within the frame of tourism. This doesn{\crq}t apply on smaller forest stands, so-called small-scale forest units, that attract just minimal attention by themselves. Small-scale forest units are offering relax potential, but this potential need to be developed. Through the use of convenient ground shaping, equipping and promotion of these small-scale forest units is possible to gain new recreation localities. This thesis is dealing with development of small-scale forest units nearby city Tábor.
Seasonal course of CO2 efflux in grassland and forest ecosystem in Beskydy mts
Dařenová, Eva ; Pavelka, Marian ; Acosta, Manuel ; Janouš, Dalibor
Our aim was to determine seasonal changes of CO2 efflux of the grassland and of the soil and stems in the Spruce forest at Bílý Kříž (Beskydy Mts). For elimination of the temperature dependency of CO2 efflux, standardized CO2 efflux R10 is used. Mean R10 was about 2.50, 5.0 and 0.97 umolCO2 m-2 s-1 for grassland, forest soil and stems. In grassland the R10 course did not show obvious trend. Whereas in the forest soil, the significant increase in R10 at the beginning and decrease at the end of the season occurred, but without any distinct maximum. Similar increase and decrease in R10 was observed in the stem CO2 efflux course as well. But there was a maximum in June and July. The temperature CO2 efflux sensitivity (Q10) was 3.04, 1.90 and 2.25 for the grassland, forest soil and stems. The temperature sensitivity in the forest soil increased shortly after rain. It resulted in a rapid increase in CO2 efflux of the soil as a response to rain.
Forest biodiversity of the Czech National Parks: How to fulfil the primary purpose of the NPs in the present situation
Hédl, Radim ; Svátek, M.
Biodiversity conservation is one of the primary purposes of the existence of the National Parks, following the IUCN criteria. Management of the Czech NPs faces two main challenges: changing concepts of protected areas and global climatic change. The former concerns an active management on the one hand, and designation of relatively large areas for the wilderness on the other hand. Both approaches must co-exist. The paper then summarizes common and distinct features of the biodiversity in the Czech NPs and stresses the international obligation to halt the biodiversity loss.
Man and Forest in the history. Ambitious Theory versus Reality
Woitsch, Jiří
In the article prevailing historiographic conception of human perception of forest in Mediaeval and Early-modern times is criticized. This conception is based on structuralist theory of hierarchy of lived space, where forest is considered to be dangerous and feared area. Referring to many written, pictorial and other sources and using the concepts of Scandinavian ethnology and archaeology the author shows that forests in the Central Europe could and should be perceived in a very different way. Thanks the permanent overexploitation it could be even very positively evaluated space
Model determination of the chemical forms of iron and nickel in the surface waters
Kubínová, Petra
The paper is focused on the evaluation of the possible chemical forms of occurrence of the elements iron and nickel in the surface waters in the experimental catchment Lesní potok (Černokostelecko region). The program PhreeqC (version 2.4.2.) was used for the speciation calculations. There is used the time period from November 2005 to May 2006 as the input data in the evaluation. The redox conditions markedly influence the content of the individual chemical forms of studied elements. Studied elements are present mainly in their mobile (divalent) state during the year. In the extreme case, i.e. during the snow melt, the values of redox potential are considerably higher and the concentration of trivalent state of iron (and nickel) is increasing.
