On the modern surface treatment of pressure casting dies
Černý, Štěpán ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on the influence of surface treatments due to prolonging life and decreasing an amount of service hours on the die casting molds of aluminium alloys. Theoretical analysis of the problem deals with the requirements for tools materials used for making these moulds. Furthermore it deals with the materials which are most commonly used in their production and the species of aluminium alloys which are most commonly casted. The second part of this thesis, which is discussed in detail, deals with design solution regarding to usage of surface finishes on the moulds for die casting and their specific properties. Another part of this thesis contains experimental tests where was measured selected coating in order to determine its behaviour during the casting cycles with a focus on increasing lifetime of the mould insert, also reducing the amount of glued metal on the walls and finally improving the surface of casted part. It was found, according the analysis results, that the TiAlN coating helped to reduce the amount of glued metal on the mould walls. This also helped to reduce the amount of service intervals. On the other side for achieving much better results is better to use TiB2 coating. It has been experimentally confirmed that the TiAlN coating is not suitable for using in die casting moulds of aluminium alloys.
Reflex Treatment of Transparent Materials
Meluzín, Ondřej ; Tulka, Jaromír (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
This thesis deals with the possibilities and methods of coating of transparent materials in order to improve their optical-reflective properties. It describes various methods that nowadays coatings can be applied on an industrial scale, while maintaining a constant thickness and properties across the applied coating. Further provides specific examples of how the application of different optical coatings can improve the desired properties of materials used for technical applications.
Surface coating of cutting tools for machining
Klusková, Miroslava ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The bachelor work is aimed to the surface coating of cutting tools. In introduction of this paper is an overview of tools materials. As additional here is theoretical analysis of loading and wear of cutting tools and some tests of cutting performance are include also. At the end of work some modern trends in coating are described also.
Tools Made from Cemented Carbide
Opršál, Ladislav ; Osička, Karel (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
The thesis focuses on cutting tools made of both coated and uncoated cemented carbides. The first part of the thesis deals with the division of materials used for the production of the tools. The second part of the thesis introduces uncoated cemented carbides, special attention being paid to the labelling, production and properties of such compounds. The third part of the thesis presents coating deposition techniques and examines the properties of coating layers. Coating layers are produced using two different methods – CVD and PVD. The last part of the thesis compares the properties of the cutting tools (e.g. their cutting values) produced by the companies Pramet Tools, Sandvik – Coromant and Seco Tools.
Reduction of Contact Pairs Friction Losses
Novotný, Marek ; Raffai, Peter (referee) ; Maršálek, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of mechanical efficiency of contact pairs in the crankshaft of the combustion engine. The introductory section focuses on the efficiency of the combustion engine as a whole. In addition, it describes the areas where mechanical losses primarily occur. The following chapters describe mechanism of friction losses, the main factors affecting their amount and the most modern ways to increase mechanical efficiency. In the closing chapter, some basic computing relations, describing the size of mechanical losses are listed. The aim of this thesis is to acquaint the reader with the importance of mechanical efficiency in the area of combustion engines.
New generations of PVD coatings
Kantar, Filip ; Kolář, Ladislav (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with methods of coating, cutting tools and a new generation of coatings. In the first part are listed and described basic coating methods. The next part is aimed on coating of PVD methods. In the third part are listed basic tool materials and their characteristics. The last part is focused on new generation of coatings, their application, properties and structures.
Analysis of the coated carbide cutting inserts
Zdráhala, Radim ; Kolář, Ladislav (referee) ; Fiala, Zdeněk (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of the cutting and specific cutting forces during face milling of coated and uncoated exchangeable cutting inserts (VBD). The theoretical part deals with the characteristic of the milling process, coating of cemented carbides and last but not least deals with methods for measuring cutting forces. The experiment is described in the experimental part that also includes evaluation of load forces coated and uncoated exchangeable cutting inserts during changes in cutting conditions. Finally is performed the comparison of values coated and uncoated VBD for flank wears and load cells.
Turning technology solution parts "flange" with coated cutting tools
Maršálek, Radek ; Dvořák, Jaromír (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
This work deals with the use of coated tools in the production of component "flange" on the CNC lathe. The first section describes the process of the coating of tools and an overview of coating tools for machining from well-known manufacturers around the world. Further, it provides the assessment of technology for manufacture the components, the design of semiproduct, the solution of the technological process with the incorporation of the CNC lathe, the assembly of work instructions with calculation of machinery times, and the processing of the NC program and its subsequent verification by simulation of manufacturing process and technical-economic evaluation of the proposed solution.
Actual trends in manufacture of ceramic shell moulds
Štipl, Pavel ; Vašťák, Patrik (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the current trends in the production of ceramic shell moulds. The first part describes the history of investment casting, their use and an overview of world production. In the following parts is out of print the production process of ceramic shell mould using contemporary materials and technologies. The final section describes the defects associated with the production of ceramic shell moulds. The aim of this work is to create a literature search focused on raw materials and processes used to create a ceramic shell mould for investment casting technology.
The technology of hot-dip galvanizing
