Vortical Structures in a Boundary Layer Separation Region
Uruba, Václav ; Sedlák, K.
Boundary layer separation in adverse pressure gradient flow is examined experimentally using time resolved PIV technique. Appearance and behavior of vortical structures is studied using spatiotemporal analysis methods. Strong vortices are detected close to outer border of the separation zone.
Development of Bipolar Electrochemical Microreactorfor Organic Synthesis
Jiřičný, Vladimír ; Vychodilová, Hana ; Melich, Z. ; Kodým, R. ; Bystroň, T. ; Bouzek, K.
Extensive theoretical and experimental study of electrochemical alkoxylation has been conducted in frame of large EU The new electrochemical project IMPULSE (2005-9). New high conversion high selectivity one pass bipolar electrochemical microreactor has been developed in cooperation with other partners: ICTP CR, IMM Germany, Solvent Innovation Germany and CNRS Nancy France. New design and process parameters enable significant reduction of expenses on separation of the product from reaction mixture. Experimental results and design of industrial reactor size has been presented in the contribution.
Dynamika odtržení řízené mezní vrstvy na válci
Uruba, Václav ; Matějka, Milan ; Procházka, Pavel
Dynamical aspects of the boundary layer separation on a circular cylinder in cross-flow are studied experimentally. Two cases are compared, the base case and the case with excitation using a synthetic jet actuator. The TR-PIV technique was used to catch both space and time velocity field correlations. Instantaneous velocity fields and skin friction distributions are evaluated. For dynamical structures study, the BOD method was applied based on energetic principle. Dynamical modes connected with vortex shedding process, dynamical excitation by synthetic jet and transition to turbulence are identified.

Dynamics of a boundary layer separation
Uruba, Václav ; Knob, Martin
Dynamical behavior of a boundary layer separation is studied using experimental approach. The dynamical nature of the phenomenon is demonstrated on a simple case of a boundary layer in adverse pressure gradient. The Time-Resolved PIV technique was utilized to study instantaneous structure of the separation region and its time development. Distinctive coherent structures and their dynamical behavior were identified using the POD and BOD methods.
Dynamika řízené odtržené mezní vrstvy
Uruba, Václav ; Knob, Martin
The results of experimental study on a boundary layer separation control are given in the paper. The boundary layer on a flat wall is subjected to adverse pressure gradient. Three control strategies have been chosen for the study, both passive (rough wall, vortex generator) and active (synthetic jet). The separation process is investigated using TR-PIV method. Dynamical aspects of the phenomenon are analyzed in details. The strategy of application synthetic jet is shown to be the most efficient.
Paradoxes of Fatherhood after Marital Separation
Dudová, Radka
The separation of parental couple has two main consequences for the relation of father and his children and for the performance of his parental role. On one hand it is the „bifocalization“ of the household, and on the other the loss of the mediation of the father-child relationship by the mother.

Experimental results of a boundary layer separation control in adverse pressure gradient are given. Three strategies are chosen: passive (wall roughness, vortex generator) and active (synthetic jet). The Time-resolved PIV method was used. Special attention was paid to dynamical effects.

Uruba, Václav ; Knob, Martin ; Popelka, Lukáš
Dynamics of separation process of a turbulent boundary layer subjected to adverse pressure gradient is studied experimetally. The Time Resolved PIV method is used to acquire spatiotemporal data. The flow-field in the vicinity of the separation zone is found to be extremely complex.
