Archaeo-geophysical survey of ditch enclosures in Kyjov I
Hašek, Vladimír ; Kovárník, J. ; Tomešek, J.
A site with two ditch enclosures by an aerial survey approximately 1000 - 1200 meters due south-west from the town Kyjov. The actual geophysical survey of the site focused on an area of some 180 x 150 m; a Canadian gradiometer OVERHAUSER GSM-19 (sensitivity 0,01 nT/m) continuous data acquisition. Our results showed that this structure includes two ditches of different sizes, filed with dark soil with higher magnetic susceptibility. Finds from this site include mostly fragment of pottery from Early Bronze Age. We also list a tool made of speckled silicate - the finds can be specified as the classical phase of Únětice culture.
