Application of PVD coatings for milling
Matuška, Martin ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This dissertation treats of the influence of PVD coats to a change of tool lifetime. The theoretical part of the dissertation describes the adjustment of tools before the process of coating. Following part describes the specific properties of deposited layers of the coating and its measuring. There is also the enumeration and specification of selected ways of depositing PVD coats and brief description of its advantages and disadvantages. Second part of the dissertation is focused on an experiment with measuring of the tool force loading and its change depending to the tool wear. There are compared four short four-edged milling cutters with a coat and as well without it. Those tools were made of high speed steel by the conventional way and also by the powder metallurgy. Milling operation was done by down and up milling technique. The evaluation of the experimental results for powder metallurgy tools confirmed that these tools are advantageous compared to the standard high speed steel tools.
Application of PVD coatings for face milling
Jaroš, Aleš ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
Diploma thesis is focused on the application of PVD coatings for face milling. The theoretical part, systematically, deals with the division of coating methods. PVD method is stressed here. Treatment of material before coating is described as well. The machine, the machine tool and cutting material is described in the experimental section. The aim of the work was comparison of coating exchangeable cutting tips (VBD) to uncoated ones. Based on experiment, it is clear that the use of PVD coatings resulted in reduction of cutting powers and lifetime was increased.
Modern cutting cemented carbide tools
Štefek, Jaromír ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with modern cutting cemented carbide tools. In the first section are stated several basic innovations already used tools for basic machining operations, which is turning, milling and drilling. It continues with analysis of single materials for production of cemented carbides, non coated as well as coated and with comparing of their properties. There are listed the basic cutting properties of the cutting tools after that. The penultimate point of the work is optimization of the basic machining operations, namely roughing and finishing, for a given application, which is in this case turning on the lamp stand. Finally, everything is summed up and evaluated in the conclusion.
Enhancement of HSS tools cutting performance with PVD coatings
Medek, Martin ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
Diploma work describes speed drill steels and its qualities before and after coating by methods PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition). The theoretic part is concerned with thermic processing of speed drill steels and their qualities with regard to individual alloying elements contained and its mechanical features. Second part of the theoretic part is concerned with particular methods of coating by the help of PVD technologies, kinds of coating with regard to additional elements and their qualities and surface treatments of coated material before and after its coating. The goal of the experimental part was the confrontation of cutting power features of cylindrical four-fluted face mills with straight shank, from speed drill steels non-coated and coated in two basic modes of milling – down-feed method and upfeed method. The results of measurements were interpreted by the help of four basic pictures (source values, power analysis, specific values). The result of all the experiment is that the application of PVD coatings enabled the increasing of cutting speed (with preservation of other cutting requirements) and led to decreasing of cutting force and cutting enforcements and extended durability of cutters.
Modern cutting cemented carbide tools
Vopařil, Josef ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on cutting tools made of cemented carbides. It contains analysis of cemented carbides for uncoated and coated cutting tools. It contains examples of modern tools for turning, milling and drilling. Practical part of this thesis evaluates and compares cutting properties of two types of spiral drills.
Material printing on R2R printer
Knobová, Klára ; Vališ, Jan (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with material printing using roll to roll material printer. Several kinds of printing inks were prepared and their parameters, like viscosity and homogeneity were optimized. Corona treated PET foil was used as the flexible substrate. Thin layers of function material were prepared by coating by using the smooth cylinder and slot die method. Layers homogeneity was characterized by optical density. Layer thickness was measured by profilometer.
Influence of „Green solvents“ and nanoparticles mixtures on select polymeric surface finishing.
Trhlíková, Lucie ; Molliková, Eva (referee) ; Tulka, Jaromír (advisor)
This work is aimed to the study of mixtures of solvents type "green" and nanoparticles in direct interaction with selected polymeric surface treatment. The values in question are resistance of surface treatment to effect of solvent mixtures with additions of nanoparticles agents and removability of selected impurities from coating layers of polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane and polyester by solvents of the basis of mixed esters.
Properties and application of anti-deposite and anti-graffiti polymer coatings
Linhartová, Daniela ; Jalůvka, Vítězslav (referee) ; Tulka, Jaromír (advisor)
Properties of selected types of anti-deposit and anti-graffiti polymer coatings on selected background materials are presented. It is focused on drying value, hardness and adherence of protective coatings, as well as resistance of background material, anti-deposit and anti-graffiti coatings against selected solvents. Removability of selected deposits and graffiti from anti-deposit and anti-graffiti coatings by force of solvents is also evaluated.
On the cutting performance of coated taps
Brillová, Kateřina ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This work deals with the characteristics of taps, taps geometry, taps coating and tapping properties. The focus is on the latest trends in commercially produced taps and evaluation of cutting parameters.
On the increase of cutting performance of thread cutting taps with coatings
Světlíková, Jitka ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the process of cutting, the wear of cutting tools and the fact, that coating makes tools more durable and increases cutting power. The goal of the experimental part is to determine, compare and evaluate cutting features in the process of thread cutting with taps of different coatings. For the experiment invariable cutting conditions were chosen, the only variable is the type of used coating. The result of the experiment is the measurement of cutting torque dependent on time and the grade of the wear of cutting tools.
