Micromechanical Aspects of Inception of Cracks in Articular Cartilage
Kafka, Vratislav
The inception of cracks that are observed on the surface of articular cartilage is explained by taking into account the microstructure: There are - under the surface - dense collagen fibers lying parallel to the surface of cartilage an orientated in one direction. It is shown that an impact loading can lead to rupture of these fibers and subsequent creation of cracks.
Modelling of Strain State of Cementless Spherical Acetabular Cup
Jírová, Jitka ; Jíra, Josef ; Micka, Michal
The paper deals with cementless acetabular cup - Beznoska type. This cup is made of 1 mm thick titanium covering and polyethylene inner layer. The subject of the research was to gain basic kmowledge of the behaviour of the composed structure using strain gauge measuring and 3-D FEM by applying ANSYS programme.
Simulations of the haemodynamics in the elatic model of vascular graft
Konfršt, Jiří
The paper presents simulation of blood flow in elastic model of crimpted vascular graft (produced by VÚP-Brno CZ; type Ra; internal diameter 9 mm). The LDA method has been used for the investigations of pulsatile flow inside the model. Measurements are realised using three Re numbers with Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid, wich simulate rheological characteristics of blood.
Bioarcheological analysis of locomotion pattern in prehistoric societies
Sládek, Vladimír ; Berner, M. ; Sailer, R.
The aim of the paper is focused on a bioarcheological model and relationships between adaptive features and behavioral parameters of past populations. The main goal is to present biomechanical analysis of long bones and locomotion pattern of past populations.
Contact pressure between head and helmet loaded by external forces
Micka, Michal ; Jírová, Jitka
The simple test of the bike helmet loaded by statical forces on the top of the head is simulated using program ANSYS. The standardized model for laboratory tests of helmets is used as the model of the head. The goal of the project is to obtain details about contact forces or stresses between the cranium and the helmets, which will be used for future development of safety helmets or by modelling of a hurt of the head at accident.
