VoIP in a wireless network of VŠE
Švarc, Lukáš ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Matuška, Miroslav (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on exploring the possibility of VoIP service in a wireless network of University of Economics, Prague. This thesis describes the basic principles of VoIP and related wireless technologies necessary for its quality and stable operation. Subsequently, different configurations of wireless network and end clients are tested and compared, including its impact on ordinary users, in a laboratory environment with idle and fully utilized frequency band. Finally, a roaming operation with the use of several advanced 802.11 standards is tested in the real environment of the Old building in Žižkov. In conclusion, the ideal settings for all telecommunication devices are recommended in order to maximize the quality of VoIP operation and to minimize the negative impact on ordinary users.
The testing of wireless network called Eduroam at University of Economics in Prague
Tomandl, Zdeněk ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Klíma, Tomáš (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on Wireless Network Security Testing, namely to the testing of wireless network called Eduroam at University of Economics in Prague. The main target of the paper is to test the Eduroam wireless network security using a WIPE methodology and going to the point of a complete security break. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part explains penetration testing, types of tests, ISSAF and OSSTMM methodologies and further deals with phase 1 to 4 of WIPE methodology supported by a further information from a specialized literature and other sources. The practical part describes security test of Eduroam wireless network, which is finalized by security break-in. A positive impact of the paper has not only the security test itself but as well a research of the wireless networks settings used on students devices. A reader of the thesis should have gain a basic knowledge about existing types of security systems, penetration tests, and about possibilities how to execute them.
Building and use of small computer networks
Fišer, Marek ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Palovský, Radomír (referee)
The main objective of the thesis is description of the intermediation of internet services by the use of microwave transmission technology. The thesis is divided in three parts. The first part is dedicated to a theoretical description of metallic and wireless networks. The second part focuses on the problematic of microwave transmission. The third, the main part, is dedicated to the description of a specific solution. In this part is metioned the pratical experience, which was gained by the implementation of the solution in to the practice.
Building and use of small computer networks
Šilhavý, Dominik ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Palovský, Radomír (referee)
This bachelor's thesis describes present network of Vyšší odborná škola obalové techniky a SŠ in Štětí. This school consists of five segments, which are interconnected by different technologies. In these segments it is possible to connect both with cable or wireless. The goal is to perform detail analysis of the network, thanks to which I will be able to expose narrow spots and suggest solutions which could lead to elimination of these problems. I reach it by collecting information about functionality and plans of the network, thanks to which I can perform analysis and then suggest changes leading to increased efficiency. This thesis contains description of the network including plans, network addresses, devices, security and monitoring. My contribution is performing all the measurement and based on that I can suggest changes in hardware or software leading to improvement of the current network.
Design and security of small wireless network
Žižka, Ladislav ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Ivo (referee)
This thesis deals with design and security of small wireless network. Main goal of the thesis is home network design and choice of optimal solution of wireless security. The thesis has four parts. The first part describes computer networks and network components in theory. Next part deals with network design, choosing of network components and setting of them. It also describes some functionalities of alternative firmware DD-WRT. The third part presents common wireless security and network analyzing software. In the last part there are proved some types of attacks against Wi-Fi networks with Aircrack-ng suite.
Wireless Security Audit
VRÁTNÝ, Jan
This bachelor thesis deals with security problems of wireless networks, also known as Wi-Fi. The purpose of the thesis is to explain the concept of Wi-Fi network, from what components it is composed, introduce safety devices used in wireless networks, and perform a research in a selected city in a specific location with the largest concentration of people if the wireless networks are secured and if they are what type of security is used. In a domestic environment an illustrative attack will be made on a Wi-Fi network secured by 128-bit WEP key. Also I will describe a new security bug that was discovered at the WPS function. Furthermore, this bachelor thesis will focus in detail on a local business, which in addition to conventional LAN extensively uses Wi-Fi network. An analysis of the security of the Wi-Fi network will be performed and the results will be evaluated to show the economic impact on the company if it were to be subjected to an attack in which sensitive data are leaked.
Design of nrmetwork infrastructure, ICT and application platfo for a small company.
Hurych, Tomáš ; Palovský, Radomír (advisor) ; Pinkas, Otakar (referee)
This bachelor work deals with the design of a network infrastructure for a small company. Designing a network infrastructure consists of a link between two workplaces using a wireless connection and a realization of active and passive elements on both places of work. The thesis further looks into a design and realization of an application server in the MS Windows Server environment and a data storage running on a Linux kernel. That was achieved by the analysis of possible solutions of customer requirements, selection and putting the best of them into practice. The main contribution of this work is the design of a secure, functional and an affordable solution for a small company. The work is divided into three logical aggregates. At first it analyzes the current situation of the company and the specification of its requirements. It also discusses theoretical solutions for given requirements and last but not least it includes a suggestion for their solution.
Wireless networks security assessment
Klíma, Tomáš ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Beneš, Jiří (referee)
Main focus of this thesis is on wireless networks security auditing. Author's goal is to create new penetration testing methodology for wireless networks WIPE and prove its usability in real terms. This new methodology is based on currently used methodologies, approaches and tools, which are introduced and tested further in the work.
Building and using of small computer network
Sládek, Jiří ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Palovský, Radomír (referee)
This text disserts on technological standards used in small local company networks and on these technologies itselfs. It focuses on basic network technologies, services built on TCP/IP network protocol, wired networks, wireless networks and active network components. Practical part is concerned with mapping and describing specific local network, testing of its functionality and satisfying users' original requirements. Results of this part will be used in network documentation.
Building and using computer network at NAREX Bystřice, s.r.o.
Babický, Lukáš ; Pinkas, Otakar (advisor) ; Kristen, Miloš (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the operation of a small business network in firm Narex Bystřice, s.r.o. The main objective of the thesis is to present the current state of the network, highlight its errors and suggest corrective actions. The first part of the thesis considers the aspects that are needed for understanding the work of a computer network as a generic unit. There are discribed individual components, technologies, software topology and network security that are needed for the work of a computer network. In the practise part I describe its current state, highlight its deficiencies and suggest their corrections. Depending on the highlighted errors, individual solutions are suggested. The proposed solutions are presented to the company management. As subsequently agreed, the solutions are either implemented or cancelled.
