Assessment of anthropogenic changes of the riverbed of Blanice river under Husinec reservoir since 1945 and its impact on the flood situation
ČAMPULKA, Martin
This bachelor thesis focuses on anthropogenic changes of the flow of South Bohemian river Blanice and their influence on potential floodings. For the purpose of my thesis, the part of the river was chosen, which begins at the bridge (the road 142) by "U Skuhrů" locality and ends under the "Husinecká přehrada" dam. Within the frame of the thesis, the defined part of the river was monitored, the observed parameters were recorded, processed and evaluated. The mapping of the chosen area shows naturally close relation between the position of the Blanice river in the monitored area and the possible engagement of the river meadow in the flooding process. It was found out that there is unsatisfactory antiflooding protection in municipalities as their intravian is in the river Blanice meadow but on the other hand, there is effort to try to solve this situation.
The suggestion of the nature close system of erosion and flood protection in particular land consolidation
PRINCOVÁ, Petra
The target of this thesis is to project a precaution against a flood and erosion in the particular land arrangement. The cadastral unit of Dlouhá Stropnice has been chosen for this purpose which is interesting for its rugged topography and the river system from the erosion and the flood point of view. The description of the area is aimed on its location and its hydrological, geological, climatic and pedologic conditions. In the beginning it was important to consider the present situation of the erosion and flood danger in the cadastral unit of Dlouhá Stropnice. For the creation of the possible danger in this cadastral unit was used the universal equation of the soil loss caused by the water erosion according to Wischmeier and Smith. Thanks to results the problematic areas were defined. The result of this thesis is to project the nature close arrangement against flood and erosion and to evaluate their influence on the erosion and the water outflow in this area.

Veverka, Matej ; Ducháčková, Eva (advisor) ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of applying weather derivatives and catastrophe bonds as alternative risk transfer products, which enable to cope with natural disaster risk in the Czech Republic. The author highlights an obvious increase in occurrence and intensity of extreme climate events resulting into devastating floods. Total costs caused by floods in August 2002, which hadn't been known so far, had important impact on the Czech insurance market. The situation is in many aspects similar to circumstances, which led to the birth of ART products abroad. If the recent tendencies continue, Czech insurers will have to find new ways of dealing with these risks beside the traditional commercial insurance. In accordance with conclusions of this thesis, applying of catastrophe bonds isn't supposed in the future. However, the weather derivatives seem to be an alternative with great potential.
