Valvetrain mechanism of a four-cylinder in-line gasoline aircraft engine
Holeňa, Vít ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on the analysis and design of a valvetrain for an aircraft piston engine. Using the GT Suite simulation tool, the aim is to construct a dynamic model of the valvetrain, make corresponding calculations as well as some design modifications. The thesis begins with the introduction to aircraft engines and valvetrain in general. In the following chapters, a more detailed introduction to cam profiles as well as related topics is presented. In the practical part of the thesis, an analysis of contemporary design is conducted, followed by a proposed design of new cam profiles. A single-valve model as well as a model containing all valves is presented, taking the gas pressure in the cylinder into consideration. The FEM Ansys Workbench was used for further calculations. The conclusion of the thesis summarizes designed variants, and further possible steps are outlined.
Design of a 1D engine simulation model to increase engine efficiency
Pohludková, Lenka ; Bazala, Jiří (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
This master’s thesis focuses on the optimization and increasing the efficiency of an engine of passenger car engine using a 1D simulation model in the GT/Suite software. The thesis builds upon literature research of current methods for improving combustion engine efficiency and based on this research, a simulation
Transmissions of Passenger Cars with Hybrid Drive
Vaňourek, Jakub ; Řehák, Kamil (referee) ; Prokop, Aleš (advisor)
This thesis deals with transmission systems of passenger cars with a hybrid drive. The main reason for choosing this topic was its topicality. With increasingly strict emission standards, hybrid cars are coming to the fore. The first part of the thesis deals with the division of hybrid drives into individual categories according to the selected criteria. An example of a specific solution is then given for the individual categories and its construction, functionality and its advantages and disadvantages compared to cars with an internal combustion engine are described. In the following chapters, more complex hybrid systems are described in more detail in connection with construction and functionality. The conclusion is dedicated to evaluating the mentioned hybrid systems and outlining their potential use in the future.
Operation of electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and vehicles with an internal combustion engine
Herzog, Radim ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Kučera, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the comparison of different propulsion concepts and their consumption, efficiency, and amount of emissions produced during operation. Although electric vehicles do not produce any local emissions, it is necessary to consider that emissions are generated during the production of electricity in power plants. The main part of the thesis introduces the functional principles of individual propulsion systems. Furthermore, it describes the formation of exhaust gas emissions in combustion engines and outlines their limits. Subsequently, the amount of emissions produced by a power plant for the operation of a specific example of an electric vehicle and a hybrid vehicle is calculated. Finally, a comparison of emissions production from representative examples of each propulsion system is illustrated.
Vozidla s hybridním pohonem
Vančatová, Šárka
The Bachelor thesis deals with hybrid engines applied at cars. First of all there is a historical overview of these engines and then there is a description of their principles and types. In this chapter are also in sum pros and cons of hybrid vehicles. It shows technical properties of a few chosen road vehicles which have similar power and are available in the Czech Republic. Last but not least chapter describe analysis of the chosen technical parameters. Necessary data were downloaded from web pages of Czech car sellers.
Alternativní paliva pro spalovací motory
Káňa, Jiří
This Bachelor Thesis on Alternative Fuels for Combustion Engines briefly discusses current and alternative fuels used in internal combustion engines. Initially, the development of the internal combustion engine is the present. It also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of fuels, their production and use, market introduction. In conclusion, it will evaluate the future use and direction of new biofuel production.
Vývoj a koncepce 5 - taktních spalovacích motorů
LIŠKA, Radek
This work deals with theory of four stroke internal combustion engine and with the concept of five stroke combustion engine. Describes working strokes of four stroke engine. Work is focused also on another variants of modern vehicle drives like electric motors and hybrids. Engines with longer expansion stroke, which includes Atkinson cycle and cycle invented by Ralph Miller and in particular the five-stroke engine, which parameters is compared with classical ICE. The final result of this work is creation of fives stroke engine model of own construction.
Vývoj konstrukcí spalovacích motorů - rešerše
FOUSEK, Josef
This bachelor thesis deals with internal combustion engines and their designs from the first engines with external combustion to modern engines with internal combustion.
Internal combustion engine for Mars and Moon vehicles
Rachůnek, Radek ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
The thesis deals with the development of a mathematical model of the internal combustion engine for vehicles used in space missions. It includes a summary of the historical development and the possible future of the vehicles. It describes the external influences acting on the engine, summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of using an internal combustion engine. A separate chapter focuses on fuel selection with respect to the availability of local resources. The next part of the thesis is devoted to the development of a mathematical model according to a sample real engine. Here, the step-by-step process of modifications to create the engine model is described, considering the information from the previous chapters. The thesis includes an evaluation of the internal combustion engine to see if it represents a suitable alternative to current powertrains.
