The senior as a perpetrator for home violence
SMETANA, Marek
Home violence problem has been solved more intensively in the Czech Republic since 2000. Perpetrators for home violence are usually men as partners in life and they are very sporadically at senior age. From the sociological point of view seniors embody a kind of specificity; therefore, it sounds interesting to focus, within the thesis, on home violence perpetrated by seniors. The introduction of the bachelor thesis goes into explaining some basic concepts, reasons, kinds and forms of home violence. Besides, it is focused on seniors as a specific sociological group. In the main body of the thesis there are case studies of home violence files, which are at Písek Regional Department of the Police of the Czech Republic, of perpetrators above the age of 65 and the investigations of home violence specifics of the age category are documented there. The thesis target was to focus on specifications of the senior as a perpetrator for home violence and to describe reasons leading to home violence in their world. Findings can be used for the shaping of preventative measures to minimize home violence perpetrated by seniors. Six home violence case reports were studied at Písek Regional Department of the Police of the Czech Republic via the qualitative research technique. Seniors were perpetrators of those cases. Specifics of the mentioned age category of home violence perpetrators were disclosed by interviewing investigators of the cases via the no-standardised form of interview. Research results of the studied cases confirm the fact that perpetrators{\crq} partners tend to excuse perpetrators{\crq} violence. Periods of violence, tranquility and forgiveness usually take turns in the cohabitation of partners. Police investigators should improve their own skills in the field of appropriate communication with both the aggressive and violent perpetrator and the victim of the home violence. Police investigators should also deepen their coordination with organisations which help victims of home violence. Police training centres should hone investigators{\crq} skills in the field of assertive techniques, which are focused on appropriate communication with seniors and with other specific groups.
Accents of Social Work of Police Officers
SITTER, Pavel
Every police officer goes through a variety of different situations during his/her working day, out of which social contact and communication with other people forms the largest percentage. The profession of police officer is unique and performance of its duties brings with it increased demands on the personality of each police officer in many aspects. Regardless of the official position, rank or place of work, the common basis of the police profession is work with people and information. Mastering the general principles of successful communication and basic communication principles, together with understanding the main causes of communication disagreements, is good communication equipment, which can be applied in everyday communication with others, as well as in professional communication. The aim of this thesis was to determine how members of the traffic police manage aggression of road users towards them if they are subject to punitive measures, whether in dealing with participants of road accidents use haptics as a means of understanding, comprehension or expression of belonging and what they imagine under the slogan "To help and to protect." This thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical section provides information on laws and regulations regarding the scope of work and activities of the Police of the Czech Republic with theories and examples of appropriate communication. The practical part presents results of quantitative research through questionnaire survey and results of qualitative research using methods of case report. The research results showed that the traffic police officers would be interested in improving assertive techniques, focusing on good communication to manage aggressive behaviour of road users. It is a challenge for police training centres.
A development and trends of crime committed by Czech Police staff.
LINHARTOVÁ, Martina
The crime committed by policemen is a topic which in recent years starts to be highlighted especially thanks to media scandals. Media show only one side of the thing, namely, what crime was committed. The second often much more serious side, concerns above all the fact, why policemen commit the crime, why people who should protect the law, break it. I consider this issue to be an up-to-date, serious and interesting topic, and that is why I chose it for my bachelor thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis was focused on Police tasks, on possible reasons for committing the crime and its causes, then who solves the problems and last, but not least, the thesis deals with a particular analysis of that crime. The goal of the thesis is to inform about the issues and to show, that there exists a very serious problem which should not remain on the sidelines, because mainly citizens´ safety is in question. The research method was based on interviews with the staff of Police Inspection, from those I subsequently created case studies, concerning various types of policemen crime cases. Because of the Privacy policy, it was necessary to respect guidelines for an implementation of case studies. Two research questions were set for the practical part. The first one solves, whether the crimes are being committed especially by younger policemen, who, for the lack of experience and a lower salary could commit the crimes. The second question was to find out, in which section of the Police service comes about the commitment of the most of crimes. The thesis can be used as a source of comprehensive information for students or people dealing with those issues. It can also be used as an inspiration for another research.
Homeless from the view of the Czech Republic Policy
PECKOVÁ, Petra
This bachelor thesis deals with the complicated issue of homeless people, their mutual relationship with the Police of Czech Republic from the perspective of police officers who are with the homeless people in a daily contact.Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. Theoretical part formulates homelessness and sets out the factors that cause homelessness. Further it discusses the organizations and government bodies involved in this issue. Finally it deals with the situations in which police officers and homeless people come into contact with each other often. Empirical part that follows the theoretical part, constitutes a research. This section describes the assumptions and goals, as well as the research methods, research set and the results. In the conclusion of the bachlelor thesis there is a discussion that isdedicated to the found research results with the subsequent confirmation of the working hypothesis: the "basic expert training" of the police schools does not prepare the police officers sufficiently for the work with homeless people in theory and they get all their knowledge from practice, during the working process. On the contrary, the performed research contradicts the working hypothesis that the relationship between the Police and the homeless people is bad from the perspective of the police officers.
The Phenomenon of Religion in Armed Forces
LAŇKA, Jiří Ignác
At my place of work, we are considering the possibility of spiritual service inception within the Czech Republic Police force. One of our models, which we stem from, is the Czech Army Military Chaplaincy. We, therefore, go into the history of its inception and its current activities, at a fairly great length. Furthermore, we have mapped the Czech Republic Police activities, whose character matches the activities of the military chaplains. By comparison and evaluation of the researched information, we will set the possibility and desirability of chaplaincy and spiritual service within the Czech Republic Police. Basic and key information was acquired by study of the literature and of the official internet sources. The additional and clarifying information was acquired through personal discussion and communication with professionals in various related fields.
The Psychological and Spiritual Support in the Police of the Czech Republic
KOZÁK, Jaroslav
The thesis deals with the description of the psychological and spiritual support for the members of the police force. Its basis is the definition of the police force as the service to the public while the policeman is perceived as both the representative of the state force and the human being. In the part dealing with the professional ethics one points out to the usefulness of the ethical codex for a policeman as a possible inspiration for one's responsibility in the role of a policeman.Next, negative phenomena influencing a policeman are described, such as stress, a traumatic event, crisis, and a burn-out syndrom. The thesis considers the needs of the man linked to the needs of a policeman proper. Based on the information collected it then deals with the psychological and spiritual support. The psychological support in the police force has got a certain framework defined in the form of a crisis intervention, a psychological advisory service and a posttraumatic intervention care. A spiritual support has no specific concept defined. A priest has his role in posttraumatic intervention teams only. Based on the research carried out and on the literature available the possibility is outlined for the provision of not only psychological but also for the spiritual support.
