The Psychological and Spiritual Support in the Police of the Czech Republic
KOZÁK, Jaroslav
The thesis deals with the description of the psychological and spiritual support for the members of the police force. Its basis is the definition of the police force as the service to the public while the policeman is perceived as both the representative of the state force and the human being. In the part dealing with the professional ethics one points out to the usefulness of the ethical codex for a policeman as a possible inspiration for one's responsibility in the role of a policeman.Next, negative phenomena influencing a policeman are described, such as stress, a traumatic event, crisis, and a burn-out syndrom. The thesis considers the needs of the man linked to the needs of a policeman proper. Based on the information collected it then deals with the psychological and spiritual support. The psychological support in the police force has got a certain framework defined in the form of a crisis intervention, a psychological advisory service and a posttraumatic intervention care. A spiritual support has no specific concept defined. A priest has his role in posttraumatic intervention teams only. Based on the research carried out and on the literature available the possibility is outlined for the provision of not only psychological but also for the spiritual support.

STANĚK, Martin
In the bachelor work describing the subject: {\clqq}The plan for crisis operating in search for missing persons within the control of the Police of the Czech Republic``, a file of generally applicable methods and techniques relative to the given problems is described, as well as the current status of the progress in search for missing persons. Also special search methods and co-operation within the Integrated Rescue System are analysed here. In this work the author has used the methods of analysing law regulations, scholarly literature and furthermore pieces of knowledge from the activity of specialists engaging in the given problems. In the sub-chapter {\clqq}Practical Section``, it was demonstrated on an exact event how is the search under way in practice and a strategy of the search procedure was determined. The determined hypothesis that the current state in the sphere of search for missing persons is being lead by specially trained officers along with using modern technology, is on a good level and is legislatively cared for enough, turned out to be true. At the same time, it has been refered to the Police of the Czech Republic having currently no plans of search operations for missing persons. Defects can be also spotted in communicatin during search operations. This bachelor work should serve as a methodical tool during the instruction of specialists in the sphere of search for missing persons.
Home Violence in the Czech Republic from the View of Law and Profession
HLEDÍKOVÁ, Veronika
Recently we have finally lived to experience of few changes in area of home violence in the Czech Republic. I mean the changes of legislation, but also changes in the spirit of helping professions and other professions , which experince difficulties with the home violence. The way has been long and it is still far from the end. I would say, that the biggest participation on these changes belongs to non-profit-making organizations, which have involved themself in these problems for many years. In my work I went through the way of changes and these, who features them in the profession. In the first part I focused on changes in legislation, next part I turned to professions, which deal with these problems. One part I also focused on non-profit-making organizations and statistical data.
Key sources of prosocial behavior - Comparison of a group of police officers with a group of Mountain Rescue Service members
FENDRICHOVÁ, Bohdana
Motivation characteristics of prosocial behavior represent a positive element of a complex labyrinth of motivation which was {--} in the former times {--} investigated within the framework of social psychology mostly with regard to its negative parts (aggressiveness, hostility, violence, social deviations etc.) On the other hand, domestic specialized publications have failed to pay a sufficient attention to the issues concerning prosocial behavior, alturism, empathy, personal predispositions and to mutual relations among these aspects. The objective of this thesis is to identify the level of empathy and certain personality factors which might influence prosocial behavior of selected groups of the Mountain Rescue Service members and Police officers. This applies to factors such as, extroversion, willingness to learn from experience of the others, towardness and conscientiousness. Majority of experts share an opinion that prosocial behavior represents a fundamental prerequisite for performance of professions aimed at helping to the others. I believe that the work of both Mountain Rescue Service members as well as of the Police officers can be rightfully considered as such. Necessary data collection was carried out using two different psychodiagnostic questionnaires. The first one - the IRI questionnaire {--} was used to define the empathy level while the second one {--} the NEO-FFI questionnaire - was used to measure five personality traits The examined group consisted of the officers from the Czech Police Criminal Investigation Department of Karlovy Vary and of the rescue workers of the Jeseníky and Krušné hory Mountain Rescue Service. The fundamental hypothesis of this work is that if compared with the police officers, the Mountain Rescue Service members show higher level of empathy, towardness and extroversion, i.e. the traits which to the higher extent correlate with prosocial behavior. From the results obtained we can derive that if compared between the examined groups, the empathy level and the personality profiles, resulting from the five-factor model (so called {\clqq}Big Five``), do not differ from each other too much since the measured values do not show any significant differences. If compared with the regular population, both sub-groups have shown higher level of conscientiousness and lower level of neuroticity and willingness to learn from the others` experience. We can not generalize the results of this research due to an insufficient size of the experimental group. However, despite of this fact, these results could become a partial step to enhance awareness in this field. According to my opinion, the objective of this thesis was duly accomplished.
Productive working teams.
VRBKOVÁ, Eva
This graduation thesis is concerned with the role of a psychologist in the work team building. The organisation where I did the qualitative research work was Police of the Czech Republic. I wanted to confirm or rebut the assertion that the role of psychologist in police teams buliding is irreplaceable. I used methods of questioning, interview and observation. Police teams are created to solve some issues (e.g. drug-traffic) or a concrete crime (e.g. a murder). I found out that police teams are built by supervisors. They are choosing team members in accordance with their specialization, skills and experience. The police psychologists have no dealing with the team building. Police psychologists pick new policemen {--} they test their memory, reactions (this test examines functions of celebral cortex) and intelligence. New policemen also have to pass a test of personality. All these tests are necessary, because police work is extremely exacting. Next police psychologist´s task is policemen training. Psychologists teach them the assertivity, how to cope with stress and how to deal with a suicide. Very important part of police psychologists´ job is a consulting service, which can involve policemen, their wives and kids. Police psychologists offer the post-traumatic care as well. This care is established for policemen who used a gun, who are investigating death of a child or some grave murder. Police psychologists are working as investigation´s consultants, especially by investigation of self-murders, rapes, maltreatment with children. They help to ease the situation, to calm down the sufferer, they also help by the questioning and they instruct policemen how to behave to the sufferer.
Personal dactyloscopy {--} its legal and social aspects
MIKLOŠ, Petr
This diploma thesis is focused on criminalistic dactyloscopy, one of many methods of personal identification by fingerprints used in criminalistic praxis. However, this activity involves interventions and restrictions of human rights of persons being dactyloscoped. The areas affected are mainly personal data protection, human dignity and freedom and personal security rights. Thus this procedure has to be legal, reasonable and legitimate. The aim of this diploma thesis is to provide a complete description of historical development, possible uses and legal framework of criminalistic dactyloscopy. Closely connected to this topic are definitions of several conceptions. The basis of this work lies in an evaluation and comparison of the state of dactyloscopic identification prior to 1990. It also notes the changes occurring after this date and changes connected with the entry of the Czech Republic into the European Union. The aim of this work is to provide the reader or any person interested in this topic with basics of procedures of dactyloscopic analysis and a list of related books for additional information. Resulting from these aims of this work and from the study of professional literature, following hypotheses were established: There was insufficient legal protection of dactyloscoped subjects prior to 1990. After 1990, a gradual development of legal system created conditions of adequate human rights protection of dactyloscoped subjects. Both hypotheses were confirmed by professional literature and legal regulations, mainly Law No. 40/1974 (on the former police functioning), International Pact of Civil and Political Rights as stated in the Law No. 120/1976 Coll., Law No. 283/1991 Coll. (on the Police of Czech Republic) within the meaning of later regulations, Law No. 101/2000 (on personal data protection) and further legal norms. The concept of this diploma thesis is to provide a complete overview of criminalistic dactyloscopy and a basic sketch of the development of human rights protection of dactyloscoped subjects. Its readers can compare current situation with historical development. It should give them a wider understanding of this topic with the aim of orientating the readers in basic law regulations and providing them with a list of extra resources.
