Automation of metallographic sample cleaning process
Čermák, Jan ; Ambrož, Ondřej ; Jozefovič, Patrik ; Mikmeková, Šárka
Specimen cleaning and drying are critical processes following any metallographic preparation steps. The paper focuses on automation by reason of absence of the process repeatability during manual sample handling. An etchant or electrolyte results in inhomogeneous surface quality because the solution runs off the specimen surface during its removal from the beaker. High-quality specimen cleaning is absolutely crucial for the acquisition of the specimen suitable for characterization by a scanning electron microscope operated at very low landing energies of the primary electrons (SLEEM). The SLEEM technique is a powerful tool for the characterization of advanced steels, as described by many scientific papers. The SLEEM requires the specimen absolutely free of water and any organic residues on the surface. This work presents a novel unique apparatus enabling automatic specimen cleaning and drying after the etching or electropolishing processes. Automation reduces the influence of dependent variables that would be introduced into the process by the metallographer. These variables include cleaning time, kinematics, and motion dynamics, but the process can also be affected by variables that are not obvious. Performed experiments clearly demonstrate our in-house designed apparatus as a useful tool improving efficiency and consistency of the sample cleaning process. The high quality of the specimen surface is verified using a light optical microscope, an electron scanning microscope, and above mentioned SLEEM technique.
Digitization, Automation and Transformation of Business Processes Using Cloud and Business Intelligence in a Small Company
Rajský, Marek ; Pehal, Jaroslav (referee) ; Dydowicz, Petr (advisor)
Business digitization is the next stage in the development of modern companies and industry 4.0, which go hand in hand with the development of information and communication technologies. The Internet is no longer just for information retrieval, but with IOT, automation, and cloud deployment, businesses can do significantly faster, more efficient, and cheaper analog process execution than they do to form and together form a business into digital form. With digitization and IOT devices, businesses collect large amounts of data that may not make sense at first glance, but business intelligence tools can aggregate them into graphical reports, which can then be used by managers to evaluate business metrics and then guide business strategy. Together, the elements of IoT, automation, digitization, cloud and business intelligence form a digital enterprise.
Firesport stopwatch
Drška, Jan ; Drexler, Petr (referee) ; Dušek, Jan (advisor)
The goal of the bachelor thesis is to design, construct and test a timer for fire sport including a large display and automatic targets. The thesis includes a market research around commercially available timing devices, their comparison with each other according to available parameters, and finally a system is designed and constructed that combines the capabilities of already manufactured sets with new features and possibilities for large-scale extension beyond the boundaries of fire sport.
Construction of conveyor superstructure of mobile robot MiR
Adámek, Tomáš ; Szabari, Mikuláš (referee) ; Knoflíček, Radek (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the design of a conveyor superstructure of a collaborative mobile robot MiR. The first part is a theoretical research basis focused on mobile collaborative technologies and information related to Mobile industrial Robots. The following is a practical part built on previous acquired knowledge. The key issue of the solution is the logistics transport of the PCB magazine in the field of SMT industry. There are created two structural design variants of the superstructure arrangement for the transport of two binders and the most suitable variant is selected on the basis of the multicriteria basic method. The selected alternative of the conveyor top module is then subjected to design calculations. In order to obtain a comprehensive overview of the prototype production, the following section contains drawing documentation, including relevant comments, an economic cost estimate and a risk analysis.
Information System Assessment and Proposal of ICT Modification
Mišurová, Katarína ; Kindlová, Dita (referee) ; Koch, Miloš (advisor)
A thesis deals with the assessment of the information system in an engineering company, the assessment of its efficiency and the proposal of the ICT modification to improve this system. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the proposal of the information system changes in the company and the elimination of the risks related to these changes. An analytical part also deals with the company analysis, the analysis of the company processes and the analysis of the current information system. .
Practical Use of Higher Control Systems
Kůtka, Michal ; Pásek, Jan (referee) ; Jirgl, Miroslav (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the implementation of higher controllers to the commonly used practice in the automation of technological processes. It uses the DCS system from Siemens - PCS 7 and its advanced APC (Advanced Process Control) library. The aim of this master thesis is a theoretical summary of resources and available tools for real-time deployment. The master thesis briefly introduces the Siemens PCS 7 DCS system and the APC library tools (functional blocks). For these types of regulators, their proper use is discussed.
Automatic robot manipulation station
Bukovský, Pavel ; Franek, Lešek (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the design of a robotic automated workstation for composing eco-briquettes packages on pallets; futher the calculations of consumption workplace, implementation costs, and return on investment. In the practical part of the thesis the calculations of the diameter of the cable and fuse, electronic documentation, communication between the different elements of the workplace program for controlling motors, valves and sensors and their use in developing CFC programs is then solved. Further the work will focus on faceplate design to control the motors, valves and sensors using the control panel and draft control with it.
