Simulation of Perfusometric Data

This diploma thesis focused on the simulation of perfusion MRI data. The introduction describes standard perfusion imaging methods, DCE and DSC, and the quantitative analysis of perfusion. In the following section, simulation of the perfusion MRI data and the structure of the provided simulation software are described. This software was reworked, and new methods and parameters were implemented. The key product of this work is a simulation study of focused ultrasound-induced blood-brain barrier opening, comparing the pharmacokinetic models used in this application and the accuracy of their permeability estimates. The results of the simulation study were compared with real-dataset results.
Quantification of Perfusion using MRI ASL Methods

This bachelor thesis deals with quantification of perfusion using a contrast-free MRI technique called „Arterial Spin Labeling“ (ASL). Firstly, the physical principle of magnetic resonance imaging and the concept of perfusion will be described for better understanding of the subject. The next chapters will focus on the ASL method itself and perfusion quantification using mathematical models, namely T1 perfusion and Standard. The algorithm for preprocessing and analysis of selected datasets, designed in the thesis, is implemented using the program MATLAB. Program BASIL was used for further processing. The outputs in the form of perfusion and ATT maps and model fitting processes using various models from both programs are compared and evaluated.

This bachelor thesis deals with the principle of contrast imaging techniques for ultrasound imaging. In the first part there are described basic principles and characteristics of ultrasound waves for the understanding. It is also focused on ultrasound contrast agents used in contrast enhanced ultrasound imaging. The important part is the description of perfusion models with a focus on obtaining perfusion parametres and analyzing perfusion curves obtained by measuring the ultrasound contrast agent over time. The second part is devoted to designing a program for generating simulated ultrasound images and description of the simulation of 2D ultrasound tomograms.

Bachelor's thesis "The Role of the radiotherapist in radionuclide brain examinations" is engaged Nuclear medicine imaging methods in the examination of the brain and the role of the radiotherapist at radioisotope nuclear examination in the brain. The work is divided into nine parts. In the first and second part describes anatomy and physiology of the nervous system. The third part is devoted to regional brain blood perfusion - an examination of brain perfusion and assessment of cerebrovascular reserve capacity, which is described preparation and advance in examination, used radiofarmaceutical, evaluation of SPECT examination and contraindication. For testing cerebrovascular reserve capacity are described options burdens. Furthermore, in this chapter refers to the differential diagnostics of dementia, the detection of epileptic focus, the diagnosis of brain death and diagnostics of brain trauma. The fourth part is direct on receptor diagnostics. With respect to commercially supplied by diagnostic ligand is the most common examination dopamine system. The fifth part deals with 18F-FDG - PET examination of the brain. Distribution and intensity of glucose metabolism in the brain can be visualized. Acquisition, Modeling and Signal Processing in Ultrasound Perfusion Imaging

This work deals with possibilities of ultrasound perfusion analysis for the absolute quantification of perfusion parameters. In the theoretical part of this work are discussed possibilities of using of the ultrasound contrast agents and approaches for the perfusion analysis. New methods for the perfusion analysis are suggested and tested in the practical part of this work. The methods are based on convolutional model in which the concentration of the contrast agent is modeled as aconvolution of the arterial input function and the tissue residual function. The feasibility of these methods for the absolute quantification of perfusion parameters is shown on data from phantom studies, simulations and also preclinical and clinical studies. The software for the whole process of the perfusion analysis was developed for using in hospitals.

Optimization methods for perfusion parameters estimation.

The content of this bachelor thesis is research the principles of ultrasound imaging, description of mathematical models that are used to estimate perfusion parameters of concentration curves. Thesis also includes a theoretical analysis of genetic algorithms. In the practical part, solves the realization of global optimization methods and their subsequent evaluation. Implementation was solved by in Matlab.
Non-contrast MRI perfusion imaging

This bachelor paper is focused on the magnetic resonance perfusion imaging technic without the usage of an external contrast media. This paper contains a look at the basic functional principle of the magnetic resonance. The focus is then set set on the Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL) technic. The basic principle of ASL uses protons from the water mocelules in arterial blood as an endogenous contrast agent. This technic can be used for obtaining a perfusion map of any tissue without the usage of invasiont echnics or contrast agents. The quantification of perusion was done applying the FAIR-RARE scheme, which belongs to the large family pulsed ASL.
Ultrasound Image Sequence Segmentation

This paper presents basic principles of ultrasonography, review of different modes of medical ultrasound imaging, principle of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and review of basic techniques of image segmentation. The individual methods based on edge detection and region growing were implemented in Matlab. The performance of algorithms were tested in each category using synthetic and phantom image data.
