This thesis evaluates financial situation of Plzeňský Prazdroj Inc. during 2003 - 2006. The first part describes methods of financial analysis which are subsequently applied onto the evaluated company in the second part. The methods used in this thesis including analysis of total indexes and ratio indicators, Du Pont analysis and multivariate models for bankruptcy prediction.

The thesis aim is to examine and evaluate the Metrostav a.s financial health during the years 2005 and 2009 even in the context of economic crisis. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first one, theoretical - methodological part, describes the various methods of financial analysis, which are gradually being applied in the practical part. The content of the practical part is a brief description of the company and the construction sector, followed by the very core of financial analysis. At the end there are summarized learned knowledge of applied methods and interpreted results of financial analysis.

Diploma work is engaged in financial analysis of Stavby silnic a železnic, a.s. company. The aim is to pass judgment on company's present financial situation and its progress from year 2001. It is focused on important facts concerning financial health. It warns of possible threats and try to define some recommendations to achieve stability and prosperity. It utilizes theoretical knowledge of financial analysis like horizontal and vertical analysis of financial statements, rules of financing, ratio indicators, pyramidal system of indicators, working capital analysis, basic economic inequality, EVA method and bankrupt models. Company is also compared with a number of transport building companies.
