Winter landscape painting in the works of the selected Northern European painters between 1560-1660

The diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of selected works of the winter landscape painting of the Norther European painters . Structurally, the work is conducted in such a way that it first introduces the evolution of landscape painting in the Northern Europe from 14.-16. century. In this context, three selected works are analyzed, whose scenes are set in the winter landscape. The cultural-historical context of the 16th-17th centuries is then outlined to familiarize with the circumstances of the time. century in the Netherlands. Then lives and works of the painters presented are briefly mentioned. The core of the thesis is the formal and iconographic analysis of selected works, especially from the workshop of the Brueghel's family and their followers. The landscape paintings with an impressive atmosphere are analyzed, observed are also habits and traditions of the ordinary inhabitants of the villages or towns whit is represented on the pictures. The attention of interest are also biblical scenes connected with the Nativity of Chist or folk celebrations of Christian feats during the winter. The Winter in the Genre Painting of the Norther European Painters of the 16th and 17th Centuries

The master thesis called Winter in genre painting of the Northern European region in the 16th and 17th-century focuses with the theme of winter period performed on the works of selected artists from Northern Europe. It deals not only with her impressive atmosphere but mainly observes the habits and traditions of the ordinary inhabitants of the villages or towns what is represented on the pictures. The attention of interest is also biblical scenes connected with the Nativity of Christ or folk celebrations of Christian feats during the winter. On selected themes can further explore the forms of winter pleasures of ordinary people or hunting. The purpose of this work is to reflect the importance of winter landscape with reference to the life of a common inhabitants taking into account the socio-historical context of the Netherlands 16th - 17th century. Ceremony of masks in folk tradition – Fašiangy (Mardi Gras) – in Bohemia and Slovakia. Attempt to define the mask phenomenon, its meanings, functions and forms across history and in various branches. Examination of own feelings and the disappearance of ceremonial and seriousness from traditions. Searching for original meanings from cult rituals through ancient festivals, mediaval times, Slavic forms of tradition till these days. Evaluation of own experience, participation in Prague carnival. Examining of the origin and development of the social mask and its influence in connection with the topic being processed. Obtaining excessive rationality leading to the disappearance of ritual and magical traditions. Dramatic art as a help in preserving the ceremonial tradition. Mutual help and inspiration.
Carnival in Roztoky

This thesis aims to document the Carnival in Roztoky from various aspects. I am interested in rituals and masks and research the current interest in the renewal of old traditions and local culture, initiated and carried out by the local community of Roztoky.
Cultural traditions and customs of choosen czech families in the village Lnáře

This bachelor´s thesis is focused on folk tradition of the village Lnáře. Lnáře are known because they belong to the most important pond areas of our republic. People celebrate here for many years social and kultural events which are organised by local associations and organisations. The main goal of my thesis will be meeting with this activity in the village and also to notice the changes of the traditions in the past and in the present. We will also remind of historical development of czech traditions and their important features.

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to report about Czech carnival. First of all the history of Czech carnival is mentioned. Furthermore a wide scale of habits and traditions in Trhové Sviny countryside is surveyed. The second part of this thesis is focused on influence of carnival festivity on older Czech literature above all on Hussites and Humanistic age. In the period of Humanism can be found a lot of works where authors mentioned their opinions on carnivals, for example Vavrinec Leandr Rvacovsky wrote an entire book about carnivals. Allusions to the Czech carnival can be found in treatise written by hussites priests or in other humanistic works.The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to report about Czech carnival.
