Analysis of the Dependence of Population Satisfaction on Social and Economic factors
Zarembová, Petra ; Sobíšek, Lukáš (advisor) ; Blatná, Dagmar (referee)
This Bachelor thesis analyses the satisfaction of the population depending on selected social and economic factors like gender, age, health status, educational attainment level, household income, marital status and number of children. As the main goal was to describe relationship between satisfaction and several socio-economic factors of the country population. For an examination were selected four countries of the European Union, namely Germany, Poland, Spain and Sweden. The second goal was determined to find out whether a life satisfaction is different for populations of chosen countries, or if contrary they are all homogenous. Analysis of contingency tables including calculation of coefficients of dependency for nominal and ordinal variables, such as Cramer's V or Somer's d was used to carry out the analysis. The benefit of this work is a comparison of four selected European countries in terms of satisfaction of their population. Further, the statistical tests verified life satisfaction dependence on several socio-economic factors. All analysis was carried on the social and economic data, which provides online the World Survey Association free of charge.
Statistical analysis of the consumption of table wine in the Czech Republic with a specific focus on boxed wine
Procházková, Romana ; Šimpach, Ondřej (advisor) ; Jeřábková, Věra (referee)
The aim of this work is a statistical analysis of the consumption of table wine in the Czech Republic with a specific focus on boxed wine. The work is divided into three parts. The first section describes the basic theoretical concepts and statistical methods used in the practical part of this work. The second part analyzes the respondents' answers to survey questions of MML-TGI (Market & Media & Lifestyle -- Target Group Index). The third part is focused on the analysis of time series - the evolution of prices of table wines. The conclusion summarizes the results of this work. Based on the polynomial regression approach the time series of average prices for individual types of table wine are aligned, and they are clearly shown in the graphs.
Comparison of statistical software for demographical data analysis
Tůmová, Pavla ; Löster, Tomáš (advisor) ; Hulíková Tesárková, Klára (referee)
The objective of this thesis is to point out to possibilities of how to process demographic data using several statistical software systems. Programs with different approach to data processing and analysis have been chosen on purpose. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first one is theoretical. Terms and methods that have been used in the thesis are explained here and there is also an introduction to the Microsoft Office Excel, SAS and Matlab software. Second part maps sources of demographic data, attends to data formats and explains their usage and advantages. In the third part, selected tasks that are likely to encounter in demography are presented. They have been chosen so that they examine the programs from various views such as transparency, range of choice of statistical functions, ability to create graphical outputs etc. A general procedure, evaluation, output comments and own code implementation (if the functions are not integrated) are introduced for each of the tasks. In my thesis I focused mostly on the question of choosing proper software for demographic data analysis.
Analysis of dependent samples in the market research
Mašková, Jana ; Pecáková, Iva (advisor) ; Coufalová, Petra (referee)
There are surveys carried out repeatedly on the same set of units. In connection with such research, we are talking about the dependent samples. The aim and the contribution of this diploma thesis is a summary of available methods for analyzing data from dependent samples for both continuous and discrete variables. The Czech literature has been devoted to this topic only marginally. The theoretical part is divided into two main parts for two waves and for more waves of exploration, which are further divided according to the type of reference variable. The third part is devoted to the application of the theoretical information in a market research.
Correspondence analysis application in MS Excel program
Ganajová, Michaela ; Řezanková, Hana (advisor) ; Pecáková, Iva (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis was to create independently an application, automating a correspondence analysis calculation using MS Excel and taking advantage of VBA programming language. The application was then used to analyse Slovak banking sector. The created application is based on macro sets which can be split up to two parts. The first part produces a contingency table and converts it into a format usable in the second part. Then there is executed the Correspondence Analysis calculation itself. Supplement Matrix is being used, that allows to discharge functions from matrix and linear algebra. The application allows to process any matrix dimension. Dialog window offers four normalization types, shortened and also full output and it is possible to display row or column variable categories, eventually both. The analysis subject was to find out which of the products are typical for considered banks and for which clients, divided into age categories, is attractive particular bank and/or product. A starting point is a product usage data matrix at a particular bank. There was made a conclusion, that it is possible to divide banks into more traditional or modern type institutions and also that each bank has a typical product.
Correspondence analysis
Konrádová, Lucie ; Hebák, Petr (advisor) ; Plašil, Miroslav (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to introduce statistical method called Correspondence analysis as a strong instrument for exploratory data analysis. The main purpose is to understand how to interpret the correspondence map, the graphical output of this method, correctly. The method is presented both in its simple version, and its extension to multivariate data. Usage of method is demonstrated on data of non-financial subjects of Czech republic, which are entered in the register of economic subjects.
Design and creation of BI systems documentation
Andrle, Ondřej ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Zajíc, Ján (referee)
This work deals with the different kinds of documents and documentations accompanying an implementation of Business Intelligence Systems. The character and structure of this work is influenced by cooperation with the Cleverdecision company. This company has enabled analytic work with data from medical registers by implementing the BI solution into the medical sphere. The implemented BI solution is in this work documented in two directions. First documentation is certain specification of the BI solution including architecture, descriptions of single components and applied hardware and software. This documentation is mainly a demonstration of the description of possibilities of the BI system and it is put after the theoretical part. The Theoretical part is about document types, which originates at the projecting of BI systems. The second documentation is intended for end users of the systems and it is put in the enclosure. It explains the possibilities of work with pivot tables in Microsoft Excel backgrounds that are used for analytic work with data. By the help of this documentation the user will be able to connect to multidimensional cube and draw up quality and predicative outputs. These two documentations are the main aims of the work. This work also mentions different end users groups and their abilities to work with the reports. In the end of the work there is an analysis of the single periods and principles of formulation of the user documentation.
