Determination of nitrate in root vegetables
Fiala, Petr ; Štursa, Václav (referee) ; Diviš, Pavel (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis deals with the study of nitrates occuring in different species of root vegetables. The aim is to compare the amount of nitrates in common type of vegetables to bio vegetables. The theoretical part of the Bachelor thesis is devoted to root vegetable in general and also to nitrates and their influence to human health and nature. Fertilizers and organic agriculture are also mentioned. The last chapter focuses on the analytical method. The measurrement is carried out by the ion chromatography and the outcome of nitrate concentrations in both types of vegetables is compared and discussed. The results point out higher concentration of nitrates in bio-quality vegetables.
Pharmaceutical application of high performance ion chromatography in analysis of organic anions and cations
Čujová, Sabína ; Čabala, Radomír (referee) ; Pacáková, Věra (advisor)
The thesis is focused on application of ion chromatography in pharmaceutical analyses of organic ions. Ion chromatography is increasingly used in the field of pharmaceutical analysis. This includes the analysis of impurities and metabolites. In the first part of this thesis, ion chromatography is compared with common separation techniques used in pharmacy, such as gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography. In the second part development and validation of methods of ion chromatography for purity evaluation and quality control of active pharmaceutical substances Rivastigmine hemitartrate and Pramipexole hydrochloride were carried out. Key words: ion chromatography, reversed-phase chromatography, ion-pair chromatography, ion-exclusion chromatography, ion-exchange chromatography, GC, HPLC
Determination of dicarboxylic acids in atmospheric aerosols using ion chromatography with on-line connected preconcentration unit
Čapka, Lukáš ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Večeřa, Zbyněk
A method for the fast and sensitive detection of dicarboxylic acids in atmospheric\naerosols was optimized. The method is based on the online sampling and subsequent\nanalysis with ion chromatography. The system was applied to the determination of\nDCAs in urban aerosols in Brno. The method was verified using a laboratory generated\nstandard aerosol of DCAs. A sampling of aerosol particles on parallel filter was used\nas a reference method.
Determination of micro and macro elements in bottled water by ICP-OES technique
Herman, Vít ; Vespalcová, Milena (referee) ; Diviš, Pavel (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with the determination of selected micro and macro elements in bottled water purchased in retail chains Czech Republic. There are described macro elements and micro elements that occur in the waters, bottled waters legislation and the most frequent used instrumental methods for elemental analysis. In this work for the analysis of bottled water were used methods optical emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES) and ion chromatography (IC). Elemental composition of bottled water after analysis corresponded to the composition indicated on the labels, there were recorded only minor deviations from the reported concentrations. All bottled water meets the conditions of the legislation of the Czech Republic. The measured data were statistically processed in the XL Stat program and by multivariate data analysis was examined whether it is possible to individual bottled water from each other based on the analyzes differentiate, which can help in verifying the authenticity of bottled water and in the detection of adulteration of bottled water for profit.
