Calculation of the energy of charged and neutral particles in a discharge and in the afterglow
Munzar, Marek ; Roučka, Štěpán (advisor) ; Dohnal, Petr (referee)
The aim of this work was to create a computer model that would simulate the process of the experiment performed on the apparatus SA CRDS. The program has two resuls. The first is determination of the concentrations of plasma's species in the active discharge. The second result is electron temperature in the afterglow. To create the model we needed to determine ongoing interactions and their rate constants. The method of chemical kinetics is important in this work. 1
Laboratory astrochemistry and applications of computer simulations
Roučka, Štěpán ; Hrach, Rudolf (advisor) ; Bonaventura, Zdeněk (referee) ; Novák, Stanislav (referee)
This work is focused on laboratory studies of ion chemistry at conditions relevant for astrophysics. The three main outcomes of the thesis are: (1) The experimental study of the reaction rate coefficient of the associative detachment reaction H- + H -> H2 + e-; measurement of the thermal rate coefficient at the temperatures in the range 10-135 K is described. (2) The design of a novel apparatus for detecting the electrons produced in the RF trap and measuring their energy; numerical simulations and preliminary experimental results are presented. (3) The development of a model of the electron cooling in the afterglow plasma and the application of the model in the analysis of the H3+ recombination measurements.
Simulation of the CT X-ray Detectors
Koutek, Petr ; Walek, Petr (referee) ; Drastich, Aleš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the basic properties of the detectors used in X-ray CT, and their influence on the choice of acquisition parameters. The theoretical part summarizes the general issues of projection reconstruction view and basic characteristics of the detectors. In the practical part is created simulator which simulate the effect of deacy time, afterglow and the light output.
Possibilities of Vehicle Lighting to Increase Road Transport Safety
Balharová, Gabriela ; Kresta, Vojtěch (referee) ; Tokař, Stanislav (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the possibilities of illumination of motor vehicles. Thesis is divided into two sections, from which the first discusses precisely the possibilities of lighting of motor vehicles at the present time. What are the modern lighting techniques, that can be found on the market and what is their impact on safety enhancement in road traffic. Second section is about the practical measurement of low and high beam afterglow. This measurement is being compared between two types of headlamps, namely halogen headlights and xenon headlights. Part of the measurement is as well measurement of illumination intensity precisely for these headlights. The output of measurement is the creation of own illumination intensity diagrams and afterglow diagrams of particular headlights, in comparison to isolux diagrams provided by the headlights manufacturer. Consequently are solved the issues about utilization of the isolux diagrams in expert praxis.
The Lighting Equipment Used in Modern Vehicles and the Measurement of the Range of Visibility of the Main Headlights
Martínek, Michal ; Kropáč, František (referee) ; Vémola, Aleš (advisor)
This magister’s thesis is about modern lighting of vehicles, the visual range and afterglow in poor visibility. The first part of the thesis provides a detailed analysis of the current situation and problems, including a comprehensive description of the sources of light radiation, lamps, structures, and describe the systems used in modern lighting technology of vehicles. In the second part of the thesis there are the scientific methods to determine the issue of visual range and afterglow of the headlights. The second part is about the application of acquired techniques to detect an afterglow and the visual range of vehicles with modern headlights with a light source with xenon lamp, compared with a vehicle with a halogen lamp and a vehicle with an older halogen headlight.
Kinetika doznívání scintilačních krystalů pro detektory elektronů v SEM
Schauer, Petr
A study of the decay kinetics of YAG:Ce single crystal scintillators for SEM is presented in this paper. The principal quantities of image quality in SEM are contrast, spatial resolution, and noise. However, to quantify the overall performance of an imaging system, the detective quantum efficiency (DQE) is a better tool as it includes both the modulation transfer function and the noise power spectrum. This means that for a detector to have high DQE, it should possess not only high efficiency and low noise, but also good kinetic properties. Utilizing of the cathodoluminescence decay results, a schematic kinetic model of radiative and nonradiative transitions in the YAG:Ce single crystals is presented.
