Czech advent masses and their place in the liturgy of Advent

Czech advent mass and their place in the liturgy of Advent This thesis deals with the phenomenon of Czech advent mass and their place in the liturgy of Advent. It represents the interconnection of music and liturgy from the beginning through Gregorian chant , polyphonic music, folk and spiritual song to the votive Mass of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the advent mass was sung . With the advent mass bachelor thesis observes their development from inception to the present form and location in the now commonly used hymn books . They recorded town , where most advent mass singing and where they are most often placed archival indicative of their original form. These records, ie different rorátní books and hymn books are also briefly mentioned . Attention is drawn to the most frequent interpreters advent mass , and those are the literary fraternity. The work also mentions the importance of the advent mass for the Czech language and shows the advent mass as a natural expression of deep devotion in the Czech Keywords Singing, song, advent, liturgy, music, advent mass, literary brotherhoods, Hymnal, Marian devotion

The bachelor thesis deals with exploring the spiritual reflection of advent and the Christmas period in the poetic literary work, but also in the life of the poet and painter Bohuslav Reynek. The aim of the thesis is to gain a deeper understanding of the issue and to penetrate the spirituality of advent and Christmas through the person and poetic work of Bohuslav Reynek, based on the Roman Catholic Christian pre-understanding. The main tool is the available literature dealing with the issue.
Adventní a vánoční floristika v obchodní jednotce

The subject of this thesis was to study historical and contemporary literature dealing with Advent and Christmas floristry. In the literary part of this work are described the most commonly produced types of Advent and Christmas decorations, types of floristic business units and methods of determining the price of floristic products. Part of the work was to conduct a survey of the production and assortment of Advent and Christmas decorations in two selected floristic business units and the recording of floristic Christmas trends over the past three years. In the practical part of the thesis are summarized the results of the survey of economic demands of selected Christmas decorations, which are supplemented by their own photo documentation.
Russian and Czech Christmas Folk Traditions at the Lessons of Russian Language

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis and detailed description of the basic holidays of the civil year. The theoretical part of the thesis contains the study of the most popular folk traditions, religious rituals and beliefs of the Slavs, the way how Christian church (Catholic and Orthodox) influenced on the origin of fundamental traditions and rituals. There is also a description of the way the major Slavonic holidays are held. Czech and Russian traditions are compared in order to find some basic similarities and differences between them and to analyze the development of the traditions in historical context. Such issues as language pedagogy, intercultural language competence and how to use traditions at Russian lessons at primary and secondary schools are also emphasized in the work. The practical part of the thesis deals with the analysis of some books used for teaching Russian language at Czech schools in order to find out how customs, folk traditions and holidays are described and presented. It also contains the research of the contemporary situation at Czech schools in the form of the testing of the teachers of Russian language and the students of elementary and secondary schools. Bachalor thesis titled Approaching of Christian symbols of Christmas to children in after-school club deals with putting into the general issue of symbols and rituals. Further it focuses on the main symbols, rituals and festivals during Advent and Christmas. In the practical part it describes a method of silence, which helps better understanding of their meaning. It also deals with application of this method of silence and explanation of the deeper meaning of the major symbols of Christmas to children in after-school club.

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and detailed description of the basic holidays of the civil year in winter period of time. It also contains the study of the most popular folk traditions, religious rituals and beliefs of the Slavs from Advent till Christmastide or Christmas season. The historical background of the adoption of Christianity in the territory of the Czech Republic and Russia and the way how Christian church influenced on the origin of fundamental traditions and rituals has also been taken into consideration. There is also a description of the way the major Slavonic holidays are held. The thesis deals with such religious and secular holidays as Christmas, Advent, New Year, Christmas season, Epiphany and other traditional holidays.
Christian Christmas and its Practice in Prague

In this magister study ,,Christian Christmas and its Practice in Prague" I write about Christmas in Prague. I write about a Christmas traditions, weather sayings and about the ways of celebration Chistmas in Prague. This diploma has two parts. The first part is a theoretical part and the second part is a practical part. In the theoretical part I write about Christian traditions, traditions and weather sayings. For example I write about saint Barbora, Mikulas, Lucy and Stephan. In this magister study I also write about Christmas Eve. This day has a lot of traditons, for example people cut an apple or throw the boot. They also sing Christmas carols and watch the fairy tales in the Czech television. The Czech Christmas has a lot of symbols, for example the Christmas carols, Christmas trees, Christmas decorations, a carp, Christmas candles and Christmas concerts of popular and Christmas music. The new tradition is watching the fairy tales in the televiion or shopping a lot of Christmas gifts. In the practical part of my study I write about a Christmas celebration in Prague in the 21st century. Divination Practices of Christmas Ritual Cycle in the Czech Lands

My work presents a typological index of divination practices performed during an interval between the beginning of Advent and Epiphany (Three Kings' Day). This list is made of folk practices known in the Czech lands since advent of Christianity until now. Particular types of divination practices are sorted by goals achieved by divination, not chronologically. Framework of this work is made by general interpretation of the divination itself as cultural practice with introduction to the context of Christian Christmas celebration and also to the problematics of koexistence of Slavic pre-Christian culture with Christian culture in early Middle Ages. Main data use in my work are ethnographic data drawn from books of Č. Zíbrt, J. I. Hanuš and other Czech ethnographers. Theoretical parts are based on works of scholars of religion, folklorists and anthropologists such as M. Eliade, K. J. Erben or K. Richter.
