The bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of Smart Grid and selection of communication media. It also describes the characteristics of PLC modems and radio modems. Practical part shows the use of narrowband modems in an environment with real interference and also communication with radio modems.
Electric energy meter with support of automatic remote acquisition
Skala, Milan ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Koutný, Martin (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with design and implementation of electric energy meter with support of automatic remote data collection. For the collecting of measured data is used narrowband PLC technology. The theoretical part describes the basic properties and standards of narrowband PLC technology, such as types of coupling circuits, modulations, frequency bands and interference problems. In the practical part, there is description of selected parts, such as control circuit power meter, modem, microcontroller and UART to USB converter. There are further described basic properties of narrowband PLC modem ST7570 by STMicroelectronics. The final chapter, implementation of the device, deals with designs of circuit PLC modem ST7570, power meter ADE7753 and converter USB to UART CP2102.
Visualization of communication routes in the energetics
Pečeňa, Vít ; Šťastný, Ladislav (referee) ; Franek, Lešek (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of an application to view the positions electrometers communicating over Power Line (PLC). Applications should find the main use in the field of project Smart Grids. Furthermore, the work resolves selection of libraries required for creation of applications and the proposal itself.
Analysis and modeling of Power Line Communication
Mlýnek, Petr ; Orgoň, Miloš (referee) ; Pospíchal, Ladislav (referee) ; Mišurec, Jiří (advisor)
The dissertation thesis focuses on the analysis and modelling of power line communication. In first part of the thesis, a basic information of power line communication are described, primarily principle, advantage and disadvantage. The physical layer of the transmission and the fundament of modelling are described later. In the following section the objectives of the dissertation thesis are specified. Experimental verification of the created models and creating of indoor and outdoor models are one of the major goals of this work. These models approximate the real parameters of the power lines communication with sufficient precision. A detailed analysis of existing and current research in power line communication modeling, especially for the power line models, then follows. Based on this analysis a mathematical description of the models is specified and reference model for different scenarios is designed. The communication channel model, power line model and noise model are designed in own solution part. In this part the main goals, experimental verification of created models and designed of models for indoor and outdoor line were also realized. By merging of individual models, PLC communication system model with all parameters analyzed in detail arise. The analyzed parameters which were previously published, do not contain these parameters coherently. The last part of the thesis gives a summary of the results of these analyzes and discussion of simulation results.
Smart Energy Monitoring System Based On Power Line Communication Technology
Rusz, Martin
The aim of this paper is to describe the design of a smart monitoring system based onPower Line Communication technology. As part of the description of technologies and the entire design, technologies commonly used today are described in more detail. The main features of the wholesystem are mainly reliability, scalability, security. For the purposes of the design, several measurementsof different communication technologies were performed. The results of these measurementsare important for evaluating the design of the entire system.
Influence Of Physical Parameters And Age Of Power Lines On Plc/Bpl Performance And Reliability
Benešl, Lukáš
The power grid conditions in distribution networks are usually unknown and the issue is missing knowledge of current technical condition of power cables. Distribution system operator need to know the consumption and other measuring values closer to the customer. The Broadband Powerline Technology (BPL) provides cost-effective way to realize communication with the possibility of current infrastructure. This technology could be as communication channel and simultaneously diagnostic tool.
PowerLine Communication for LED unit control
Šebesta, Ondřej ; Janáková, Ilona (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design and testing of a system for powerline communication, enabling control of LED lights. The work first describes the basic principles of powerline communication, specifies the communication bands and summarizes the basic functional requirements for communication within the system for LED lighting control. It also describes the method of selecting a modem for powerline communication, the design of a test module with this modem and also the method of testing real communication between two test modules, including test results. The most comprehensive part of the work describes the design of hardware and software of the universal PLC module and how to use it. In addition, it referes to the development tools used as an example of implementation in LED lighting. At the end of the work are summarized the results of testing the proposed system.
Firmware for power line communicaiton system
Majer, Dominik ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Sláčik, Ján (advisor)
In this diploma thesis it was introduced the issue of power line communication and network architecture design with goal to create own concept of smart house system. Consequently, the necessary communication protocols are designed and described based on the concept. Further is described the implementation of the designs and testing of the realized system under laboratory conditions using the real communication devices. Summary of the achieved results is supported by demonstration of real functionality.
