Elemental analysis of dendrochronological Norway spruce sample
Zámečník, Karel ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Kozlík, Petr (referee)
The subject of this bachelor's thesis is the determination of lithium, sodium, magnesium, potassium, calcium, manganese, iron, zinc, selenium, rubidium, strontium, cadmium, antimony, cesium, barium, and thallium in dendrochronological samples of Norway spruce using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The samples of the Norway spruce were collected in the autumn of 2018 on the southern slope of hill Melechov in the Vysočina region. The stem sample was first divided into pieces according to the distance from the bark and labelled A1a to A1g. The ash sample was obtained by burning a cross-section of the stem and separating the bark, from which the A3b sample was created. The remaining two samples were made up of needles and twigs and labelled as samples E and F. For elemental analysis, the samples needed to be converted into a solution, which was achieved by dissolving them in a mixture of hydrochloric, nitric, and hydrofluoric acid, using a microwave digestion device. After dissolution, a solution of boric acid was added to each sample solution to complex any unreacted hydrofluoric acid, which could damage the internal components of the ICP-MS. Calibration solutions were then created with concentrations of 0,0016; 0,008; 0,04; 0,2 and 1,0 mg/l from stock solutions containing the analysed...

Botanical (Dendrological) Walks on the Territory of Děčín
Reimerová, Pavla ; Pavlasová, Lenka (advisor) ; Skýbová, Jana (referee)
In this thesis, we are introduced to terrain-style (on-spot) approach to teaching botany and dendrology subjects on high school or high vocational school. The main goal of this thesis was to point out interesting spots in the city of Děčín from the dendrological point of view and design optimal walk routes for them. In the introductory part, the terrain-style approach in teaching is described, including its various types, goals, specifics of preparation phase and possibilities of using mobile applications as a tool for botany and dendrology teaching. We also wrote up about the topic of including terrain-style teaching of botany and dendrology into curricular school documents. In next segment, we described interesting spots in the city of Děčín from the dendrological point of view, such as: Zámecké zahrady (Palace gardens), Mariánská louka (Mariánská meadow) or Lesopark Kvaderberg (Kvaderberg forrest park). Overall, we designed eight walk routes.

Vilímová, Tereza ; Novotný, Petr (advisor) ; Skýbová, Jana (referee)
Letná Park in Botany and Dendrology Instruction The thesis proposes the possibility of using the Letná Park in Prague during the realization of a school botanical walk for the pupils of the 7th year of the elementary school. The work is divided into individual parts which deal not only with the importance of the walks for teaching, but also with theoretical and practical part, which will make the smooth course of the walk easier. In the thesis the species composition of realized plantation is described in detail and there are mentioned the examples of educational activities which can be safely done in the area of the city park and which can liven up and enrich the time children spend in this natural environment. In addition to the information above the work is complemented by the part dealing with the historical significance of the area and the architectural monuments, which are characteristic for this part of Prague. The main aim was to create materials, on the basis of which the teacher can variably choose which topics and to what extent he or she will deal with during the walk. According to the children's interest, it is possible to induce situations that will lead to the active memorization of communicated information and operatively supplement the walk with complementary activities that will...

Dendrologic survey of Bečov botanical garden
ŠPAKOVÁ, Markéta
This thesis completes information about the area of the former Beaufort rock garden and contemporary Bečov botanical garden. The main part of this work is dendrologic survey and passport of woody plants in the area. The two parts of the original area were chosen for the survey the former landscape park and the slope with rockery. In total, there were passported 470 woody plants, 104 of them were coniferous and 366 broad-leaved species. There were identified 30 taxa of coniferous in 9 genera and 55 taxa of broad-leaved in 31 genera. All the woody plants were drawn into the plan, which is also part of this work (scale 1:600). Next part of this work is a list of woody plants taxa in the forest complex and the orchard. It was wtitten 34 taxa (3 coniferous and 31 broad-leaved) and 50 varieties of fruit trees.

Methodology for the rescue and revitalization of introduced woody plants in monuments of garden art
Kirschner, Jan ; Souček, Josef
The methodology was disigned with the aim to develop a complex tool for the identification of priority individuals of woody plants for their rescue and revitalization. Furthermore, a sequence of measures to that end is given. As a result, gardeners have a method how to identify priority plants and priority measures for the rescue of valuable individuals in monuments of garden art; thus, viewpoints of garden architects, dendrologists and arborists are integrated.
