Heat transfer in solar energy equipment
Hylas, Martin ; Jegla, Zdeněk (referee) ; Babička Fialová, Dominika (advisor)
Photovoltaic panels are an efficient device for converting solar energy when exposed to high solar radiation intensity, which is, however, associated with a high ambient temperature. The high operating temperature of a photovoltaic panel has a negative effect on the efficiency and lifetime of the device. The first part of this thesis presents the current state of the art in the field of active and passive cooling methods for photovoltaic panels. The main metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of cooling systems are the cooling rate and the power gain of the photovoltaic module. The research shows that significant reduction of temperature effects can be achieved by support systems, but based on the experimental work to date there is no unified view on the applicability of the cooling devices in practice. Investment and operating costs are a significant barrier to the use of these systems by the general public. A possible solution to efficiently generate electricity and utilise otherwise wasted heat is to combine the functions of photovoltaic panels and solar thermal collectors into hybrid photovoltaic-thermal collectors. The tubular distribution system is an integral part of these installations. From a design point of view, these are simple systems, naturally subject to uneven distribution of the working medium, which results in a decrease in the efficiency of the entire device. In the second part of the thesis, the functionality of analytical models to predict the distribution of the working medium in a K-type distribution system is verified. The results of the comparison of predicted data with experimentally measured values show that the predictive ability of the analytical models is strongly dependent on the method of determining the value of hydraulic resistance (local losses).
Refrigeration unit with the R718 refrigerant
Krupa, Matyáš ; Tuhovčák, Ján (referee) ; Hejčík, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of a cooling system using the refrigerant R718 (water) with a capacity of 5 kW for building cooling. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the basic principles of cooling systems, thermodynamic cycles, and refrigerants. The following second chapter provides an analysis of the compressor cycle and its individual components – compressor, heat exchangers, and expansion valve. The final third chapter focuses on the actual design of the cooling system, including thermodynamic calculations and determining the basic geometric parameters of the compressor.
Modification of cooling system for laboratory measurement of rotor blade vibration
Maturkanič, Dušan ; Procházka, Pavel ; Hodboď, Robert ; Voronova, Evgeniya ; Mekhalfia, Mohammed Lamine
Last year, the replacement of the turbine wheel model was completed in the Laboratory of Rotational Laser Vibrometry of the Institute of Thermomechanics AS CR, v.v.i. Based on previous experience and the expected higher operating load planned for the new wheel, the cooling system was modified at the same time. The paper describes the main effort in this direction and the results that clarify the previous damage of the measuring device.
Control and regulation of the temperature of the drug transport box
Maťašová, Daniela ; Králík, Martin (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the solution of drug transport in a transport box over longer distances. The work also deals with sensors for temperature measurement and methods of its control and regulation. The essence is the design, implementation and verification of the functionality of the transport device, which allows the display of continuous information about the state of the temperature inside the transport box. Temperature control is powered from the car’s on-board network and temperature sensing is powered independently. The transport device allows the setting of the limit temperature up to 35 °C, while exceeding it is indicated by an acoustic and visual alarm. The transport box, which is the result of the work, allows the transport of drugs, and ultimately meets all the requirements of the assignment.
Cooling of a powerful light source
Tulis, Vojtěch ; Tuhovčák, Ján (referee) ; Hejčík, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on calculating the thermal resistance of the line light source and the design of the cooling system with ideal inlet temperature. The partial aim of the work is in cooperation with CAMEA spol. s r. o. to determine the thermal resistances of the individual parts of the device and propose modifications so that the total thermal resistance and the maximum temperature are within the limits given by the cooperating firm. The main objective is to design a cooling system with all safety features and recommended regulation for economical and reliable operation. Analytical calculations, CFD simulations and real-world testing are used to determine the desired results. A reduction by 30% in thermal resistance of the printed circuit board was achieved, the thermal resistance of the aluminum profile with the cooling channel was determined and its hydraulic properties were calculated. The current cooling system designed by CAMEA spol. s r. o. for less powerful diodes was verified for use in a more powerful system, and a new cooling system was designed for efficient and economical operation in a powerful diode system.
Revitalization of a multi-purpose building in the village
Federla, Jakub ; Nováková, Eva (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The aim of master‘s thesis is to renovate old agricultural building and design it as nzeb building. The thesis contains three parts: 1st – design of the building, 2nd – design of building services, and 3rd – assessment of the impact of different operations in building on energy consumption. The results are then evaluated for economic and environmental savings. The renovated building in village Rozkoš will be used for many purposes. It will be divided into 3 parts – a multifunctional hall, a pub, and a club room. Multifunctional hall will be used for various activities for village itself or public. In the pub will be only cold kitchen with small dishes and beverages. Club room can be used for elderly people, workout or young people. The building is low rise and structural system is combined. The vertical load-bearing walls and columns are built of bricks. Horizontal load-bearing structures are cross vaults made also of bricks. Saddle roof is made of timber roof truss. The building site contains also an outdoor car park and a garden. The project was carried out in the Revit.
Design Solutions and Development Trends of Formula Student Cars
Adámek, Ladislav ; Porteš, Petr (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is engaged in history and description of progress and recent trends in Formula Student/SAE competition. The bigger part of this thesis is devoted to complex summary of structural designes of monoposts and construction units of most succesfull teams. The point of this survey was getting information about construction of competitor´s cars. Theese informations should be used for building own car.
Civic amenities building
Brázdová, Kateřina ; Pilný, Ondřej (referee) ; Berková, Petra (advisor)
Mixed-use building in Prostějov The aim of this master´s thesis is to elaborate the project documentation of a mixed-use building in Prostějov. The thesis consists of three parts: architectural-construction part, building services and elective part. The building has two above-ground floors. On the first floor there are storerooms, utility room, sanitary facilities and restaurant with kitchen and storerooms. The second floor is an office floor for one company which includes offices, dayroom, copyroom, meeting room and sanitary facilities. The building is founded on reinforced concrete foundation. The horizontal load-bearing and non-load-bearing structures are designed from ceramics blocks. The building is insulated by ETICS. The vertical load-bearing structures are designed from Spiroll slabs. The building has a green flat roof. There are parking spaces on the grounds. The building will be heated and cooled with a heat pump. It will also have an air condition. Part of electricity demand is covered by photovoltaics. In the third part of thesis, I replace frequently used materials with environmental ones in my project and compare them in terms of thermal engineering, acoustics and price. I used DEKSOFT, Hluk+, Autocad and Revit software. All structures comply with the valid standards and regulations.
